There's beef, chicken and fish in a lovely variety of options; one each. But it was the Pizzas that tempted our...taste buds last night. Ron had the individual size pepperoni and I tried the Pear Gorganzola. The pizzas are roughly football shaped and exactly the right size for one serving. The crust is perfect. Ron's had a little "bite" in the sauce that perfectly complimented the pepperoni. But the Pear Gorgonzola was AHHHHH-MAZING!! it's a MUST HAVE meal anytime you're in the area! Why they don't advertise that they have a *ton* of gluten-free options is a mystery to me. I was floored when our waitress confirmed that the majority of their menu can actually be made gluten-free, including their pizzas! Which were delicious, by the way. Thin crust, wood-fired, with excellent cheese and toppings. I've only been here once so far, but living in the area, and with so many options for us gluten-free folks, I'll likely be back. The food at the other tables looked absolutely amazing, not to mention a really nice atmosphere. Lastly, I uploaded a screenshot of where this restaurant is *actually* located. Overall it was disappointing and I would say they use the cheapest ingredients and try to maximized their profit. We want to try this place after seeing all the amazing reviews on yelp. We ordered two salads both with Salmon. One scallops appetizer and two pizzas. The scallops appetizer tasted good but they use the cheapest smallest frozen scallops for this dish. They are all smaller than pennies and have no taste. When I read the menu description about the dish I thought scallops were the focus but then they are not. It was $16. Both of the entree salad were size of a side salad at best and we added salmon to each of them. The salmon were thin and they were no longer than 4 inches long. One piece cooked well and another piece was over cooked and dry. Each of the salad was $23. The two pizzas were pretty good. read more

The food and atmosphere were fabulous. The menu was simple, yet very complete. We sat down with friends for a night out on the town. They had an excellent wine list with a broad range of wines and specialty drinks. The food items were fabulous. We ordered the Hummas as an appetizer and a pizza for the main course. Stopped by here on a whim after seeing the yelp reviews and I'm so glad I did! I came by around 5:45 ish on a Friday and it wasn't super busy so I got seated right away! Both the host and the waitress were super kind and inviting. I am always a little weary when it comes to trendy restaurants like this, as attitude can come easily in Seattle, but all I got here were good vibes. I really enjoyed the cozy aesthetic and our server was literally amazing. I ordered the caesar salad to start and a pepperoni pizza while my friend ordered the salmon and we both loved our meals! When I had friends in town for Fourth of July we were in Fremont looking for a place to grab dinner. SWeL was one of the few places still open and they were able to seat us right away. Between the three of us we shared the Italian sausage pizza, calamari, and baked goat cheese. Everything that we had was good (although the calamari was a little oily/the breading was pretty dense), but I wouldn't say any of it blew us away and the prices weren't that great either. For me four stars means I'd be back again and five stars means I'm raving about it to my friends and this just didn't meet those criteria! Its a solid place to come if you're in the area but I wouldn't travel out of my way to come here. read more

Excellent service, food, and ambience. We came for the pizza on a recommendation. While it's not the best pizza around, it was a solid recommendation. We ordered the bay scallop share plate, the Caesar salad, and the pepperoni pizza. Scallops - this was recommended by the waiter. I had already decided I "wanted" it before the recommendation, but his description sealed the deal for both of us. It was more of a roux-based macncheese/pot pie mess of scallops and burnt cheese that you spread on, or eat with, fresh bakery bread. This dish was AWESOME! Hint of lime for some reason. Why did they do that? SO glad they did that. Great call. Super unique, fun, and delicious. Salad - I'd say it was a little wet for our tastes, but the dressing was light and delicious, so no complaints. Standard Caesar, nothing super special but nothing wrong. Nice crispity croutons, fresh firm Romaine, and plenty of yummy salty cheese. Pizza - loved the small pepperoni and long crispy cook on them. Fresh mozzarella can be a good and bad thing. It's delicious, but often means much cheese-neglect on significant crust space. This was thankfully mitigated with a small amount of extra cheese spread evenly across the pie. It was difficult to tell if I liked the sauce, because there was not enough present to offend or please. A couple of Marzano bites pleasantly surprised but were just that, a bite of a stewed tomato piece. A little disappointed in the sauce. The crust, while not my usual first choice for a style (medium thick, not Neapolitan, not pan, not even hand-tossed really) stretches to fit a rectangular woodblock, was GREAT!! I though it might be too thin to be thick, light, and airy, but too thick to be considerate of the toppings and chew. Instead, it chewed like a pastry, melting in my mouth as the cheese and pepperoni mixed with it in one buttery ball of deliciously chewy pizza mouth bite. We recommend SWeL. And we recommend trying things you may not normally try (in general, but here specifically this time). read more

I was walking around Fremont and was surprised to see this restaurant for the first time in a familiar area. I rarely go in restaurants blindsided but we decided to be spontaneous that afternoon - with no regrets whatsoever. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles and were given the option to sit inside or outside. My first thought was that the ambience could cater to anyone: fancy enough for couples who wish to spice up their dates yet casual enough for celebratory social events or to catch-up with friends. The inside boasts seating at the bar, booths, or tables. The outside is lined with red picnic tables and they provide blankets for customers to sit on. (You can bring your dog here - An added bonus!!) We ordered the Manila clams and penna clove mussels, Italian sausage pizza, and the carne Assada steak. The food overall was AMAZING. The Manila clams/ mussels were coated with a white wine sauce that added a richness in flavor complimenting the sweet seafood. The pizza comes with a handmade chili oil sauce that was so good I was tempted to steal it and bring it home with me. (Arguably one of the best pizzas I've had in awhile). And the Assada steak was tender and well spiced. My favorite part of this dish was the corn, it was coated with lemon which added a hint of a juxtaposed taste. The music does cater to the younger demographic, in a refreshing but not distracting sort of way. They played SZA, Odesza, and flume, amongst others. It did create a "chill" atmosphere and I found myself shazaming songs frequently. Overall, the service, ambience, and food was superb. This is the easiest 5 stars I have given and I will definitely be back for more. read more

OMG, fabulous is the only word. The food was INCREDIBLE, the service was personable and kind, the drinks were perfect. I can't think of any way the experience could have been elevated. The inside feels intimate and cozy, and just makes you feel like you're at home. I had a pasta dish that was really yummy and had a nice spice to it. The Caesar salad was awesome, super super garlicky, so if you aren't into that, you won't like it. Heads up, it's huge, and they can't split it in the kitchen. This place is great! It has a very cool vibe, really interesting and good appetizers, pizzas and entrées, and was an overall great experience. Also, there was really good value regarding the whole dining experience. Sometimes you go to a nicer restaurant and you get bad service, mediocre food and you walk away feeling like you spent way more money than you should have. I had to shout to be heard by my friends (and there were only 3 of us). I had the linguine with tiger prawns and was very underwhelmed. The prawns were overcooked and chewy/rubbery. The pasta was not linguine, which isn't a huge deal in and of itself, but it was also very overcooked. For $35 I expect a perfectly put-together dish and this was not it. Going to a class at Theo tonight at 6:30, so we looked up best happy hour in Fremont. This place was top of the list, and it's well deserved! I had vodka and a Seattle soda diet cola, my husband had the imperial oatmeal stout, both were fantastic. We had carne tacos, an Italian sausage pizza, and the organic chicken sandwich. I was in love with the pizza and the tacos, but not as much for the sandwich, despite it being filling! One thing to note is that the Italian sausage pizza came with a lot of mushrooms on it. It was still delicious, but a note in the menu would have been appreciated. The carne tacos were phenomenal, but very little food for $12. Expensive bill for worst than cheesecake factory food. Awesome staff and service though. Went with friends for a wednesday night dinner, I tried the Carne Asada, Rosemary Chicken and Mousse Cake. The service and ambiance were really great, awesome staff, but the food not really. I simply ate all the veggies and left my meat (Carne Asada) on the plate. It was a very unpleasant bite, tasteless and rubbery, I sincerely think they made a mistake on my plate, I'm sure they can cook a better meat than that one. 29 dollars for that mistake. My husband Chicken was the smallest baby sized chicken breast ever for 23 dollars. The mousse cake was ok, nothing to remember, tasted like microwave pudding. Our friends weren't impressed with their pizza either, but mentioned having an amazing Pork Chop dish there the night before. I would go back to try this Pork Chop since I really want to like this place. read more

We were roaming around Fremont on a Saturday night looking for something a bit swanky but still kid friendly. We happened to stumble across SWeL. As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a wonderful ambience and friendly staff. Throughout our experience the service was attentive and friendly. They took the time to go beyond taking orders and everyone was very personable. We started with the oven fried bay scallops and manila clams. We were also given a share of bread with butter. This paired nicely with the white wine broth of the clams. The oven fried bay scallops were also a nice presentation as well. They were served in a small bowl with a crusted cheese over the top. It was almost more of a dip. We also spread this onto our fresh bread. Both apps were very tasty and paired well with our glasses of Axis Cabernet. My son said it went well with his freshly squeezed orange juice too! Next on the menu we selected the bartlett pear, gorgonzola, toasted pine nut and pesto pizza as well as the Italian sausage, mushroom, caramelized onion and mozzarella pizza. We ordered a small of each and the portion was perfect to split between the 2.5 of us. Both of these pies were perfectly executed. The Italian sausage was very tasty, but the bartlett pear gorgonzola is tough to beat. The balance of sweet and savory finished off with the pine nuts and pesto was perfect. There were a number of different menu items that sounded great, and we'll certainly be back for more sustenance and smiles. We just so happened to be walking by and decided to stop by for dinner and try a new place. WOW I'm so glad we did!!! Food - AMAZING!!! Customer Service - Impeccable as our server checked in on us several times throughout the meal while polishing wine glasses and keeping a close eye on our drink level. The owner or manager - a very polite and endearing man delivered our meals himself and before we even tasted it asked us to please let him know if the pork chops weren't cooked perfectly- that he would have then made again no problem. Their decor is extremely serene and pleasing to the senses with real candles everywhere. The menu is just the right size and not toooooo large and their portions are perfect. We came to SWeL for an early dinner (~5:30 PM), and I was surprised as to how packed it was. My two friends and I didn't make a reservation, and the hostess sadly told us that they unfortunately were completely booked for the night. However, after taking a second look, they found a small window of opportunity from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.! We were immediately seated and given menus. We ordered oysters with table and they were absolutely delicious. They gave us three different types... I don't remember the names; however they were sweet and hit the spot perfectly. Because I wasn't super hungry I ordered a salad. Again, forgot the name but it included mixed greens and baked goat cheese wrapped in pistachio. It was light and slightly overpriced but it was amazing. Given how crowded it was, service was a bit lackluster. it took over 20 minutes for the server to get back to us with our second round of drinks, and at that point we had already finished our meal and we're ready to go. I came here with my boyfriend on a Thursday night around eight o'clock. Just letting you know, we were lucky to find someone exiting a parking spot right as we circled around the area so parking might be a bit of a hassle. The restaurant itself is small from a first glance (we sat outside) and the patio has five to six tables max. The atmosphere and aesthetic is modern and I really enjoyed it. We were sat immediately as it was surprisingly quite slow and this was our first time. Our waitress was extremely kind throughout the entire experience. They had blankets on each patio table as well. The water reminded me of European restaurants, almost mineral-like, which I don't necessarily prefer or necessarily dislike. The menu itself is relatively small and the portion size of the items, at least what we ordered were as well. We ordered a "large" pepperoni pizza and a caesar salad with chicken. It came out relatively quickly and we received chili infused olive oil on the table along with our meal. As far as the pizza, it was phenomenal but not slightly big enough for one person, let alone if you're sharing. Or maybe I just have a big appetite. I tried the olive oil on my pizza and it was almost tasteless and very, very mild so I was a bit underwhelmed since I was hoping for some flavorful spice but nonetheless it was still amazing. The bill was about $45 for two items and a beer. We skipped out on dessert but we will definitely be back for more. read more

The service was excellent and prompt, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed--great for the middle of a workday. My only complaint is the portioning. The dips don't come with enough items to actually dip. And some of our portions were hearty, while others were almost small plates. So, it's a bit hard to gauge how much food you'll be getting. Found this gem as always on Yelp. Cozy booth for two with curtains on each side that make it like a small private oasis. Everyone who works here is beyond amazing, a plate is barely finished and it's cleared. The cocktails are fabulous, I had a vodka muddled with basil created by my waiter (yum)! SWeL is one of those places you've been absent mindedly walking by forever, and feel greatly disappointed that it took you so long once you give it a shot. We loved the scallop dip and the baked goat cheese starters. The scallops definitely aren't what you imagine, but they aren't to be missed. Had a great experience at SWeL for our second visit. We started with the clams and mussels that came with a good helping of delicious French bread to dip in the broth of the clams. I got the pork chops and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It came with silky mashed potatoes and a tangy balsamic mushroom. My wife got the tagliatelle and it had the perfect chew. We currently live in Edmonds and purposely make the drive into the city just for dinner at SWeL. The Chopped Salad is one of our favorites as well as the Rigatoni. You also can't go wrong with ordering any of the Pizza's they have to offer. In the handful of times I've been here, I have never tasted something I haven't liked.
