When I found Vonderhaars, I put in an inquiry and they responded promptly. I let them know what we were interested in ordering and we were able to get the price almost immediately. They delivered the food from Reading to the east side, and when they arrived they were friendly and fast! The food was amazing! My favorite was the chicken with mango salsa! I highly recommend Vonderhaars for your catering if you are ever in need of a catering for a small family get together!!

From step one, first meeting everything and everyone was great. They helped us think through all sorts of things that first time hosting families need to think through which we would never have considered on our own. And those questions and discussions helped our daughter's wedding to go smoothly. They offer a wide array of choices and also have a la carte if you have a specific request. They sent plenty of staff, guests in particular noted how nice it was that we had 4 bartenders and there was never a long line at the bar. They can provide everything and are flexible to do a plated sit down dinner with real everything (plates, cutlery, stemware) or a giant pig roast with disposable everything so they can fit into any budget. They can also do interactive carving stations or a buffet. Highly recommend them for any event, not just weddings as a caterer you can trust with your event.

We contacted Lula's two months in advance for our SAT afternoon get together. Lori went above and beyond to work with the various food allergies (NO GARLIC!) and create (and modify several times as people canceled or RSVPd yes at the last moment) a marvelous repast that brought smiles back to the day. Food: Inventive flavors and textures that mingled for a delightful array to please all taste buds ages 6-72! Presentation A+. Adapted the display and serving utensils to the limited kitchen island with creativity and aplomb. Customer Service: A++. Lori was also grieving a loss and never skipped a beat to make sure we were taken care of with a smile. Timeliness of delivery/set up: Perfectly timed. Efficient and detailed. Favorite Item on your Menu: Childrens: Mac & Cheese Adults: Lobster Bisque Highly Recommend Lula's! Wish we lived closer.

We have been using Apple Spice Junction to cater a monthly meeting for years. The order has been…read morefor as few as 8 to as much as 70, and it varies greatly by month/year. We always order about 3 different Executive Box Lunch combinations. The most popular items are usually the classic trio or the chipotle chicken. Common feedback on our post meeting evaluations is that the food is delicious. We've been getting more requests for gluten free items and I am happy to say that you can barely notice the difference in their gluten free cookies. If you are a bread lover, the bread is always the highlight of the sandwich. It tastes what it is: fresh and homemade. I love their potato salad, even though it has the evil that is celery in it. They also have a frogs eye salad, which I never heard of, and still quite determine what it is (tapioca and pineapple and cream?), and I love it anyway. It is my favorite of their side salads. In fact, when our meetings were on pause during the height of the pandemic, I tried looking up how to make it and gave up. I digress. Their other treasure? That cheesecake. Creamy, soft, decadent - the perfect cheesecake. It's what cheesecake dreams are made of. And just enough of a serving where you felt good about what you ate, especially considering how much they pack into the lunch boxes (everyone leaves full and some save the chips for later bc they get so full). Today, they get a special shout-out though. They are so punctual that when I realized they were 15min out of their window, I knew something was wrong. I ordered the food for the wrong day and they STILL came to my rescue. They kindly delivered 20 lunches within an hour with no complaints. I always work with Dava, and she and her team had my heart today. Apple Spice forever!

Solid lunch spot!! Decent flavor, and a few minor suggestions…read more I ordered the Classic Box Lunch - Turkey Bacon Jack, which comes with oven-roasted turkey breast, bacon, pepper jack cheese, roasted red peppers, lettuce, and chipotle mayo on honey wheat bread. I swapped the bread for sourdough, but it didn't have much of that signature sourdough tang. My sandwich was also cut from the end of the loaf, so the tapering meant I got a bit less bread. Flavor-wise, the chipotle mayo carried the sandwich. The bacon was of the pre-cooked, ready-to-eat variety--like what you'd find from Oscar Mayer or Kirkland. Not bad, but a little underwhelming since I was expecting freshly cooked based on a coworker's hype. The bacon was also clumped in the center, which was surprising considering the care they put into packaging. Would've been better evenly distributed for balanced bites. Packaging was excellent. Everything comes beautifully packed and cleanly presented--puts places like Subway to shame. Toppings come a la carte, so you can build the flavor profile to your liking. Even came with utensils, which you don't always get for other places. Making you have to walk back in to get them. The box also included: Carrot slices - Fresh and sweet, a nice surprise. Ranch dip - A bit green in color (maybe herbs?), but didn't taste off. Chocolate chip cookie - Soft, not dry, and packed with big chunks of chocolate. Very good. For $11.99, I felt the value was decent, especially with the sides and thoughtful packaging (heavy-duty box and thick plastic bags for the carrots and pickle so they don't spill). Just be aware that extras will cost extra--those add-ons can creep up if you're not paying attention. Ordering online was easy, and they offer a rewards program for repeat customers. The shop itself has a nice atmosphere--clean, welcoming, and good for a quick lunch. Just remember to bring your own drink, as beverages aren't included. Bottom line: A great place for a well-packaged, satisfying lunch. With a few tweaks to ingredient prep, it could easily be a 5-star spot.

Every Saturday we see them grilling out on the sidewalk on Wyoming avenue and wanted to stop by. It's such a fun tradition that's worth the stop off 75- you can take a walk around Wyoming Avenue to the Village Green or Crescent Park if it's a nice day! The shop is neat and cozy inside. They've got a great selection of wines and cold drinks. The only reason I took off a star is that the ordering process can be a little confusing. There was a handwritten sign for sandwiches, and some premade sandwiches in the case. But they looked a little bare- it wasn't clear that they came with toppings, could be warmed up, customized, etc. I took the leap and ordered one- the turkey and Colby on sourdough- and I found out that I could add toppings and that my bread was toasted. But I couldn't see them while making it to know whether it was made fresh or one of the ones in the display case. The sandwich was good- don't get me wrong! But it was a little basic for $13- mayo, lettuce, tomato (light on the toppings), red onion, and pickle. I think one thing that could've helped was some more specialty condiments- Dijon or dark mustard, a speciality aioli, etc. and the pickles were room temp dark green pickles (not fresh). Some fresh, crunchy homemade pickles would have taken this to the next level and really amplified that high quality meat that you're paying for. To the same point, none of the yummy looking salads or sides were labeled in the case. How much were they? Did they contain allergens? Could I get them as a side for my sandwich? Overall a great spot and we'll be back! But I'm left wondering if I'm getting the full experience or not because of the lack of ordering instructions inside. Oh- the staff were friendly and I'm sure could make up the difference! They happened to be busy because of the busy festival outside though, so I'm sure on a normal day they'd be able to provide more information.
