The food ALWAYS hits the spot they never miss! Rock shrimp to die for, California rolls amazing! My boyfriend got crispy crunchy curry chicken. The service is always good the staff are always so friendly! It was so nice today because we had a more intimate dining experience there wasn't that many people in the area we sat in for lunch. I will always recommend any day of the week, atleast try it once if you never have!

I indulged in the rock shrimp, while my friends enjoyed the shrimp tempura roll. I have to say, the seafood here is undeniably top-notch.

I've been coming here since high school with friends. So many memories growing up and eating here. I think this place was the first time I ever had sushi. Came back for the first time in years last weekend with extended family. It was a pretty large group of us so I'm really glad the restaurant was able to accommodate us and put us in a private room. The service was good as usual. I absolutely love shrimp and of course I had to order the Rock Shrimp and Shrimp Pad Thai. They're both very filling. When my Rock Shrimp appetizer came out I was so pleased with how they put it in this big tall metal martini cup. Very pleased with the taste, the number of shrimp, how much sauce was added and the salad at the bottom was a nice touch. Really appreciated the salad part. Pad Thai was good. There was so much of it that I had to bring the rest home!

Local spot we enjoy. Food is great, kid friendly, quick dinner and food happy hour menu. Don't love the mandatory 20% service charge added But overall positive experience.

Shrimp and Pork Wonton Noodle Soup

Sweet Basil...always delicious - dining in or take out. Favorites- shrimp and pork wonton soup, and sushi or sashimi is always fresh and delicious. Drinks are very good too, esp when Skye the owner makes them!

Sweet Basil has a very lively restaurant and bar. Their service is prompt and friendly. The sushi is high quality and the strings are always strong. I took off a star only because i did find my salmon roll to be slightly mushy which made it fall apart easily, but the taste was still great. My other two rolls were also good! I had a quality time. They also have many dining areas which was nice if you wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the bar area! The crab rangoon is also always delicious!

Very ghetto, servers were ok. The sushi was mass produced, the ambiance was horrible.

I wasn't hungry but the menu looked delicious and my drink was excellent. The bartender was very attentive and although it wasn't busy then, I heard them answer calls for reservations constantly while I was there. Def coming back hungry next time! .

"Like whippets, they dance in a curly-queue dance Of pulses…read moreand ringing and campfire chants Birds of a feather are flocking outside" (Phish) There are so many nice restaurants in Fairfield, picking one for lunch can be a formidable task. But because it was so cold today, we picked one close to the train station for our lunch for three, and it turned out to be a great choice after our meal at Ryebird. Their website describes Ryebird as "A Neighborhood joint where friends and family meet" and that seems pretty much spot-on. The bar is gorgeous, the dining room is beautifully decorated with red painted walls, dark distressed wood tables, and stainless-steel colored chairs. The service was great, I mean outstanding. Our server Leo was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We had a few conversations with Manager Thomas who was very charming and a real joy to talk with. And I haven't even gotten to the food yet! OK, here we go! Our party of three went with a small Chicken Soup for The Soul with Cheesy Bread ($14) for me. What's Cheesy Bread? Well, how about three toasted pieces of gooey pizza bread topped with a feta spread and olive oil. My brother-in-law went with their Daily Pot Pie ($23 for Chicken today), with a house-made buttery crust, scratch-made filling, and an added $4 up-charge for a gravy boat full of mushroom bourbon gravy. My wife went with a Roaster sandwich ($18) of pulled chicken, cheddar, BBQ sauce, pickled onion, on a baguette served with fries. We also had an order of Lemon Chili Zucchini ($9) for the table. The food was wonderful, as both the pot pie and the sandwich were devoured. My soup was a pretty big bowl for a "Small" but was loaded with more carrots and celery than chicken. I asked our server Leo if they had any hot sauce, and he asked me how hot did I want it? Ryebird has a few different types in increasing levels of hotness. I asked for the max, and he brought out a little ramekin of some of the hottest hot sauce I ever had. It was pretty much at my upper level of tolerance. I chatted about it with the restaurant manager on the way out, and he was pretty sure it was made with Ghost Peppers, so that explained my thermonuclear mouth numbing reaction. Anyway, we loved our visit to Ryebird. Their food is reasonably priced, portions are generous, the quality is high, and the service is exceptional. What more do you want in a Fairfield County lunch?

Tucked in downtown Bridgeport with easy street…read moreand garage parking nearby, 29 Markle Court walks in with serious style -- the decor is chic, the atmosphere is warm and cool at the same time, and it genuinely feels like somewhere you'd expect to find in a much bigger city. Drinks first: my slightly dirty martini was made exactly right. My friend went with cosmo and it was equally on point. Whoever is behind that bar has their act together. Then the food happened. We started with grilled bread with an EVOO, agave, and chile dip -- sounds simple, ate like a statement. The char on the bread, the heat and sweetness of that dip. Good sign of things to come. Main event: shrimp and grits. Guinea flint grits, spicy red sauce, sage, stock. I don't say this lightly -- this is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The grits were creamy and rich, the sauce had real depth and heat, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The whole bowl just worked on every level. Dessert: goat cheesecake with pistachio dust and berry compote. Tangy, creamy, not too sweet, and that pistachio dust on top was a perfect finish. We cleared the plate.

Finally got around to trying 29 Markle, twice…read more Everything sampled was great. Service was good, though a little more knowledge on the menu would've been nice. The chef owner came out personally to check on everyone. We will be back.

She was a huge part of our magical experience. I started off with the buffalo cauliflower. I will preface this by saying I'm not a big Buffalo flavor person, but I'm a vegetarian and didn't feel like getting my usual vegetarian app - brussel sprouts. I wanted to expand my palate that evening and surprisingly I actually really liked it. The amount of blue cheese was perfect for me (despite the reviews) as it would have made it too salty and greasy. Next was my entree: Modified Kettle Cooked Zoodles. As a vegetarian, I never have the highest expectations but I was blown away! Chris our server was so sweet to have this customized for me. We took the idea of hubby's Branzino sauce and added more veggies to the Kettle cooked Zoodle dish. It was so yummy! Hubby's Branzino: fish was well cooked, elegant flavors from the Puttanesca sauce with spinach and mashed potatoes were excellent! Faux-ito: I got two, the first was the classic, the second was a mix of strawberry and pineapple. Both delicious mocktails! The Forbidden Pear: hubby got this one. very balanced, not sticky sweet. I can't believe this gem is just sitting here in Fairfield. Not too far off from a night in the city. We will definitely be back!

The menu is some what tied into the Puglia region, which is the heel of the boot. I could tell the italian dialect from the owner when he was speaking to one of the staff, it immediately gave me a good feeling that this restaurant would be really good. The appetizers we had were all really good, we had the fried calamari, the grilled Octopusss, the fried zucchini flowers and thd hummus special. Sorry no pics of these. We had a couple of the Orrechiette Barese, Chicken parmigiana, a pasta special of fettuccine with shrimp in a cream and pesto sauce, another pasta with cavatelli, shrimp and cream and pesto sauce, really couldn't see the pesto, probably could have used a little more or maybe a little finishing with the pesto on top.
