I recently had a 60-minute stress fix massage with Lucy and it was great! I felt immediately comfortable with her and she did an excellent job. She asked me a few questions throughout and explained what she was doing and/or why a certain area was especially tight. It was incredibly relaxing. I had a massage with Doris today and it was the best I've ever had. She started by asking me what level of pressure I would like and if there were any areas I would like her to focus on. Having not had a massage in a few years, I wasn't sure what pressure I would want, so she spent the first few minutes trying different pressures and asking me what I thought. Doris focused on my back and shoulders as I asked, but worked out knots in the rest of my body as well. I will definitely be back, this massage was well worth the money! read more

The facials aren't really focused on skin care, more of a massage than anything. I mentioned I wanted to focus on brightening dark spots and they just told me dark spots resolve on their own in a few months, which is obvious but they could have at least made an attempt to work on my skin. Instead the session was almost entirely a massage with very little emphasis on the facial, although the massage was great. I do not recommend if you want a real facial, better off going to a laser skin spa type place. read more

There's a lot of dishonesty happening at this spa. I have been going to my amazing bikini waxer, Ari Neuman, for a long time and followed her here once she started at Sway. She recently won Boston Magazine's Best of Boston for bikini waxing (well deserved) and as soon as this happened, the spa stopped allowing clients to request her for their services. They've also been advertising that they won the award for best spa, when the award was clearly for Ari's waxing specifically. Luckily, she has left Sway and I will be able to see her at a new spa in Cambridge. I'm disappointed in Sway spa and feel that they should be a lot more up front with their customers. read more

Massages here have never let me down. A good value - especially for the area. I always book pretty last minute and that has never been an issue (even on Friday night for first thing Saturday morning!). I have found I get the best massage there when I am vocal about what it is I want and need. They are good about asking too. Overall a good reliable experience. I always look at bathroom's cleanliness because I think it tells a lot about the service), staff was very friendly and polite. I had a 60-min facial service, but I asked to personalize to meet my needs. Sweta was great, she did wonderful scalp, neck, and foot massages in place of extraction, because I don't like extraction. Loved my experience here! Did a 60-minute facial and a 30-minute massage and I left extremely content and relaxed. The facial made my skin all glowy and smooth. Since my visit here, my skin also hasn't had any major breakouts so I will make sure to get my facials every couple of months to detox and clarify. I was suffering from terrible neck pain while in Boston on business. In desperation, I searched for spas near my hotel and found Sway. I was able to book a massage on my smartphone while sitting in a meeting. I'm so glad I made the appointment. I told my massage therapist about my neck pain and asked that she just focus on that area, and she worked her butt (arms!) off for me. Several hours later I'm still in awe at how much better I feel. My mother booked a massage for me for my birthday. I had never been to Sway before. It was a lovely experience! Martine was my therapist, and she was just amazing! She tended to my sore muscles in a way that was relaxing and rejuvenating at the same time. She was very calm and quiet, allowing me the luxury of drifting off into my own thoughts. I am so picky about massages, and this place excels in every area. I have tried a bunch of places around Boston and this is the only one that gets it right. I like really firm massages and the staff listens to exactly what you need and is so nice about it. The room is so clean and the products they use are always the best. I've been to Sway Spa for a facial a few times now. I always get high quality personable service. The first time I came over I was pleasantly surprised that the facial session also included a scalp massage and a feet massage at the end (or hands massage if you are too ticklish). Sweta ensures I am comfortable at all times. She remembers what was used from session to session, my preferences and the state of my skin. I always look forward for the next session because it's such a relaxing treat every time. Also, that's the first place in my experience that doesn't leave my face blotchy red for a day afterwards. Sway Spa often runs promotions and ensures their customers are aware of them (through personal and not mass e-mails). They use good quality Aveda cosmetics but wouldn't push you to buy anything. My masseuse was Doris and she was incredible!! After running the marathon yesterday, I have been extremely sore all day, and even walking into Sway Aveda Spa I was desperately holding onto the hand rails trying to walk down the stairs... But leaving, I was leaving without holding onto anything! She was very gentle and informative when massaging. She was very accommodating to my allergies and specific pain/discomfort points. I haven't gotten many massages before but Doris made me feel very comfortable the whole time. The Spa itself was very clean and relaxing. Overall 10/10 experience!!! This place will melt ya like buttahhhh! I booked a 60 min massage here during some downtime I had while in the area for a work conference. It got great reviews and was running a massage special for first time clients so I figured "why not?!" Jamie was my masseuse and Wow!!! She is AWESOME! My only regret is not going with the 90 minute option! I've been getting massages regularly for the last 5 years or so and I'm kind of hard to please. I like deeper pressure massages that really knead the knots out of my muscles, but not too hard that it's not relaxing. Yep, I'm particular which is why I've gone to the same gal at home for a while. Jamie gave me one of the best massages I've ever had! She was super friendly when she got me from reception and asked me if there's any areas I wanted to focus on, etc... she gave an AMAZING massage... and she made sure to ask me if the pressure, room temp, music volume etc. was comfortable. It was truly a great experience, so relaxing, not overpriced, with an awesome, highly skilled woman who paid attention to my requests. Lucy works miracles. She can feel what is wrong and works relentlessly to ease knots and overworked muscles. Her massages are not formulaic. She understands how the body is connected and massages and adjusts based on what your body needs. This is not a relaxation massage. You need to take some deep breaths but once done, you stand taller and feel better. Lucy is strong, competent and a lovely hardworking person. She is justifiably very busy so you need to plan ahead. Sway is a nice spa. The owners strive to ensure you are delighted with all services. The place is spotless and the smells wonderful. read more

Haven't been to mani/pedi place as nice as this one (it helps that it's more like a full spa than just a nail salon); really great ventilation. Like another review mentioned, this place seems to treat its workers well and is ethical about employment (I chatted with both my manicurist and my pedicurist about it; they seemed genuinely happy; the funny thing was the manicurist was the owner, but she didn't say so when I mentioned it, the pedicurist blew her cover ^^ The owner herself had bad experience with nail salons mistreating her/their employees, so I think she tries to not do the same). They have excellent service here ! It's my second time coming to get a massage and a facial in the same appointment. The facials are so relaxing and they also give you a mini massage during some of the treatment so it's like a two for one. My only criticism would be for them to open up their membership for the weekends as well as the weekdays as they currently only offer it in the middle of the week. If it was open to even one day on the weekend I would absolutely take advantage of the membership! read more

This boutique spa truly exceeded my expectations. It's like an oasis tucked away in the Fenway area. The moment you walk in, you are greeted by the warm and welcoming staff. Your eyes will be delighted by the beautiful aesthetics of the rooms. The 4 hours we were there, we were treated like royalty. The owner made sure our bridal party was hydrated and fed at all times. The masseuse, Joe, is an expert with pressure points and attended to every knot in my upper back and shoulder area. The manicures and pedicures came out beautiful and polished. I went to Sway for a gel mani and was very impressed by the level of customer service! It is a beautiful space and a quick walk from Kenmore station. My manicurist Jenny was a total perfectionist and I love how my nails came out - I am hoping they will last a full two weeks. While it is a bit more expensive than I typically pay for a gel, I think this is a nature of the location. Very much recommend this spa! read more
