When first visiting the spa I was very pleased with the service received when I was serviced by the owner Rupa, when rescheduling follow-up appointments I confirmed bookings with Rupa and each time (total of 3) I was assigned a different technician the day before my appointment. I found this to be very disrespectful to accept and confirm an appointment and then change the technician at the last minute. The reason given for the change is "I won't be in that early", if that's the the appointment should not have been confirmed. A schedule is provided on your website allowing a customer to choose who they would like to service them, to undue that choice is horrible customer service. One of my junior sailors (active duty Navy) went to get an eyebrow wax, due to different upcoming commitments out in town (parades, color guards, volunteer events), and unfortunately things did not go as planned. She came back with bot of her eyes very badly hurt, just look at the picture! How is it possible that someone who can OBVIOUSLY not perform a proper job is allowed to do that? I had my eyebrows waxed (not sugaring) and a manicure done at Sweet Nothing Spa. I booked here because its close to my office and I needed to kill time during rush hour, and I was very pleased. Eyebrows: Very thorough. They use hard strip wax, not soft wax, but surprisingly I didn't break out or react badly. I have sensitive skin and I usually don't go to places that use hard wax so I was expecting the worst and wouldn't ding them for that, and the results exceeded even my best expectations. My eyebrows looked awesome and redness went down really fast. My boyfriend commented that I looked really nice when I saw him later. Manicure: I HATE manicures, but I was actually really relaxed during this one. I always get very antsy from sitting still and I've had bad experiences with manicurists doing a number on my cuticles, but my manicurist at Sweet Nothing Spa was super gentle and so sweet. Struggling to decide whether or not to write a review. But I think it's important because I chose this sugaring location due to reviews and I want others to have my experience to look at. Nina was very nice, but ultimately I wish I didn't get the Brazilian here. I used to get sugared in my early twenties in LA, so I'm not new to it. It's never been painless, but I had a particularly bad experience here. I have extremely large bruises all over my intimate areas. Which would be disappointing but understandable if the job had been thorough, but sadly because of Nina's sideways removal of the sugar wax, there remain many hairs in various areas and many that were broken at the root instead of removed. I am very sad because I got this done for a special surprise for my 3rd year anniversary trip to the bahamas. And now I look like my pubic area got into a fight with similar hair removal results as shaving. Side note: everywhere I have gotten sugaring done before there has been a receptionist and separate room. Though there are coverings so the place you are getting sugar waxed is semi-private, the ceiling is open and anyone in the small building/room can hear. Further, I have always been able to get undressed on my own and get under a privacy sheet. There was no such thing here, I was instructed to undress while Nina was in the room. This is likely necessary because of the small semi-private way this spa is set up, but it made me uncomfortable. I've had great a experience all around with this newly opened salon. The place was clean and well set up with all new equipment. Certainly the best reason to go is that it's impossible not to love the owner. She's personable and funny, in addition to being artful about her work and taking the craft seriously. I have never written a bad review before but this experience was inexcusable. Do not get your eyebrows threaded here. The woman acted like it was her first time holding a piece of thread and she admitted that she was new. I felt like a test patient and I did not trust her with my eyebrows. I was sitting in the chair for 30 minutes when typically threading takes 5ish minutes. She also plucked the majority of my eyebrows - I went to get them threaded not plucked. I asked her to just clean up my eyebrows and keep the thickness and she ended up taking off half of my left eyebrow. They are so uneven and my left is completely without an arch now. Cannot stress enough how poor of an experience I had. I'm sure their other services are fine but do not get your eyebrows threaded there. read more

I would not recommend sweet nothing spa. I went there to get my wax due to its great reviews but was highly disappointed from the get go. The salon looked tacky and the owner was rude. I walked in and was told to sit down whilst she carried on her conversation with her friend im assuming. I was then brought into a tiny room with bright lights where I was told to strip down whilst she stayed in. I don't know if this is normal but a little bit of privacy would of been nice. Then throughout the waxing I was told to go into different weird uncomfortable positions and she then tweezed and kept pinching my skin. One day I came in for my Brazilian and Full leg... the waxer let me know that my bottom half wasn't ready to wax because ( I shaved the bottom 2 weeks prior ) so I asked if the upper half was ready and she said yes. Great chat, I'm always happy with my results so I trusted that everything was fine and ordered my Uber. Right before walking out I used the bathroom and realized the upper leg that I got waxed was very patchy with leftover hair. I waited until I got home and sent a message to Rupa. The next day she responded and accused me of telling the waxer to wax my upper half even if it wasn't ready. (Why would I do that If I was okay with not doing the bottom half when she told me it wasn't ready?) So I denied and Rupa insisted that I should've waited even though I was told it was ready. She also insisted that I come in the same day even though I said I wasn't able to due to work. This continued for a while... I asked for a refund and she offered me $10 off my next wax. I don't think that's fair given that none of this was my fault. She then blocked my number and never reached back out. NEVER AGAIN. I've been growing out hair for about 30 days because Because you need to have a certain length to be able to do Sugaring. So almost 3 weeks i wax saving hair to start the sugaring cycle. Today was the last straw. I went in there with very, VERY specific instructions as to what I wanted done, which was the most basic cleanup possible. She proceeded to do whatever the she wanted to do. When she was done and handed me the mirror, I literally was speechless. And to make it all worse, she said she didn't understand what I wanted which is why she did whatever she thought I wanted. Getting hair ripped out of sensitive skin can't ever be comfortable, but she makes it as comfortable as possible, both physically and socially. Ive debated for about a month if i should do a review on this location. Now im sure i should because it seems to me some of the reviews are less than truthful. The sugaring service is done in the back of a hair salon. There are bugs flying around and loud music. The table that rupa has isn't sturdy and there is not enough space for you to swing your body on the table. I got sugared 2 times as well as i brought my boyfriend to get sugared. Our first experience was great the second time both him and I experienced horrible ingrowns and he reviled to me he was bleeding during the service. I have been getting waxed for 10 years i take care of my skin i exfoliate before my service and also during the week to avoid ingrowns. The second time we went the sugar was cold and very very VERY painful. She normally places the sugar in the microwave she does not have a warmer. I had to tell her to stop the service because she was hurting me so bad. My bf also informed me she just kept ripping the hair off rather than talking him through the service (this was his first time waxing) he was in alot of pain and bleeding. We wont be returning ill be finding someone else in the area that has a real spa and not in the back of a run down salon with no parking. Side note: Yelp does not highlight bad reviews. Was told this is the policy if you cancel less than 48 hours before your appt. This is understandable but the way I was spoken to was not ok. She was rude and when I said she should remind people of this policy when they are cancelling within 48 hours and her reply was that she was busy and couldn't continue the convo. When I replied that she should brush up on her customer service skills she blocked my number. Mind you, this is the only phone number listed for this business so now I have no contact info to try to rectify. Crazy part is that I had to reschedule due to an emergency and was planning to reschedule AND book hundreds of dollars of more services but that definitely will not be happening now.
