Etant is great. I've had fantastic deep tissue massages with Suzanne and try to come back regularly. Sessions help tremendously in relieving muscle tension and stiffness from running, hiking, lifting, cycling and help me in my recovery. I prefer deep, intense pressure for the stubborn knots (which is something I've had difficulty finding with other massage therapists) -- so if that too is your preference, look no further! I got 2 facials here recently - one with Daz and one with Bailey. The one with Daz was amazing - she explained everything she was doing and was very thorough with her shoulder massage and facial (I would give Daz a 5/5). Bailey's facial was much less thorough with zero explanations as to the facial treatment and a very weak massage (she was basically drawing circles on my sternum at one point). ALSO - SHE WAS CHEWING GUM THE ENTIRE TIME. I could hear her smacking the gum over my face during the entire facial - it was not relaxing at all. I would give a 2/5 for Bailey. read more

I booked a last-minute sports massage with Danielle yesterday. It was my first time at Etant, and the space was tranquil and comforting. Check-in was fast, and my massage took place a few doors down from their main location. I arrived stressed, after a long week, and Danielle was attentive to where my body really needed work. She applied the perfect amount of pressure - enough to work out some yucky stuff, but not unpleasantly so. All services with the exception of the facial were wonderful: 5 stars for Suzanne who provided the Swedish massage, intensive hydrating wrap and parrafin hand & foot treatment. Suzanne was excellent - adjusted massage to my needs, good communication, nice demeanor. I felt pampered and taken care of. 3 stars for Dazirae- overall the facial seemed to me heavy-handed. I found the slathering of lotions, cheek squishing and neck pulling uncomfortable. I just wanted it to be over. I left with clean skin but it was not relaxing like other facials I've had. My friend and I were able to book an appointment on a Friday just the day before. We were welcomed with friendly staff and offered some cucumber water. Establishment was clean and organized. My friend got a pumpkin facial for pigmented skin and I got the hydrating facial. We have a pleasant experience with comfortable chatting during. He instinctively knew how tense my upper back and shoulders were, and with great care worked through the knots and soothed my aches and pains. I have received facials at Etant in the distant past and recently made an appointment for one. I've been a south end resident for many years and remember when Etant first opened on Shawmut Avenue decades ago. In any event I had to cancel my appointment 6 hours before its scheduled time because an aide who assists me in caring for a disabled/elderly family member quit unexpectedly leaving me in a bind. While fabricated emergencies are offered to avoid cancellation fees, legitimate ones still occur. However, with an indifferent attitude they charged me $195., the entire cost of a standard facial without any consideration of my predicament. There was no partial charge or mention of rebooking. They only asked if I could send someone in my place. Their so-called "standard policy" had a dehumanizing and callous bite that underscored their corporate-like business model. And for a business that has existed in the same neighborhood for many years, it was clear there was no regard for better relations with that community but only a mercenary, over-gentrified mission that I certainly will never look to patronize again. read more

The effects of her facial leave you radiant for months afterward. And she judiciously recommends products that I have loved using and are worth the cost. Everyone there is kind and helpful. I fell into one of those funny conversations with a complete stranger once in 2017 and we happened to start talking about spas, massages, etc. I remarked that my last experience with a masseuse had been a particularly (and surprisingly) bad experience, and this straanger (who later became known to me as "Harriet") recommended Etant. I made an appointment the following week and have never had to look for another place to get my massage, facial and waxing needs met. The staff are friendly and soooo helpful; and the aestheticians and massage therapists are well-trained, professional, and SKILLED! There are enough massage therapists available so you can find one to match the style of massage and gender you prefer. Etant also sends out regular emails with nicely discounted specials - today I got a 20% discount on a massage with one of these promos. I cannot recommend Etant highly enough.
