I'm taking 3 stars away because I don't feel like they pay attention to patient needs, focus on the patient during treatment, or note patient fears/concerns. For almost two years I have been going to see Philip Barlow for acupuncture. My first issue was digestive problems--constipation. This almost immediately improved and continued to improve as I worked with him. I later had issues with energy levels and stress. He was helpful in targeting what was going on and gave me herbs as well as acupuncture to treat this. I had no idea that acupuncture and herbs could help with depression and grief. He has also helped me with female issues. I do enjoy that Philip is trained in both acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine because he is a one-stop treatment center for me as he can also provide the medicine I need to heal. I also like that the medicine is made just for me rather than an over-the-counter one-size-fits-all kind of remedy. He uses herbs that are clean and don't have the pesticides that Chinese herbs can have coming from China. So I feel more confident that I am using the best herbs money can buy. The herbs he gives me are easy to use. They are in powered form that I just add to hot water and they dissolve. I have to be honest though, they don't taste that great. But I do appreciate how they work and the taste doesn't stop me from taking them. I also appreciate Philip's bed side manner. He is compassionate and sensitive to my issues. He has a healing manner about him that is non-judgemental. He is very calming, which is important since I know that some of my issues are stress related and personal.
