When you get there, you go up a narrow carpeted staircase. Not promising. You push through that and open the door and it looks much like any other random massage place. The prices are in the counter there. I don't remember them all. It was $80 for a 1-hour deep tissue massage. Kind of steep for a random massage place, but now it's too late. I asked the masseur for a really hard massage. I like really hard massages - exclusively. She gave me the best massage I've ever had (and I've had a lot). It was so good that I promised myself I'd create a Yelp profile just to leave a good review. Which I'm now doing. Maybe I got lucky, or maybe they're all this good. I don't know. But I had a great experience.

Could be because both my friend and I were Chinese, but everyone was very sweet to us. Very quite, and dark when we first got there, which may be off-putting for some, but it's clean and has the necessities. The massage I got was very relaxing (not a therapeutic knot-fixing massage, but a relaxing overall body massage). We were visiting friends who were leaving Boston, so not sure when I'll be back in Boston, much less in need of a massage. But I definitely would come back if I'm in the area and in needed a fixin'!

This was my first…read moretime at a traditional community Chinese massage spa like this and I was definitely missing out. Pressure was perfect, time spent on each part of my body was even and well thought out. Make an appointment if you are wanting specific timeframe. Also consider bringing cash for discounted rate. Also please be kind as this is a traditional Chinese massage spa and folks who work here are amazing at what they do and speak their language of origin. Be patient and relax because what they do is hard work!

Hmm... what an interesting experience. I have been seeing…read morevideos of local massage businesses and got intrigued. We actually accidentally went here, as we meant to book massage appointments at a different spot but the names were very similar lol. So that's my fault on that part. The place is a lot bigger than I thought & they get busy! There's at least 8 masseurs/masseuses. Massages here are quite affordable. We did 2 1 hr massages, $59/each cash; $118 total. Not going to sugar coat it here, the massage was terrible. The first 10 minutes were okay with a head + scalp massage, followed by shoulders and feet. My masseur was talking the entire time & stepped away for a total of 10ish minutes. So, we really didn't get the full 1hr massage, along with the time we waited for someone to check the front to take us in for our appointment... (~6min). It was basically more like 45min, not an hour. I didn't find anything they did to be effective nor relieve any pains/tension. When paying, they also demanded tip and wanted more than 20% each LOL. Definitely not coming back again but at least we know now. I didn't realize until halfway when checking my phone that we didn't go to the one we had in mind. It wasn't relaxing at all. Too much noise going on, from the masseurs and since they had their front door wide open, we could hear all the noises from outside. Never experienced that when going for a massage! So, that was different. Only reason why I'm giving 2 stars instead of just 1 star is simply because the price is pretty cheap. The total for 2 is typically what I'd pay for a massage for 1 person. But besides that, I don't recommend coming here.

Over the years I have…read moregradually been doing some major damage to my back via working late hours and tolerating the stress at work. I've gotten many, many massages over the years to help relieve the dull and nagging pain I have in my neck and upper back. I have a Massage Envy subscription (which I just terminated today) plus I go to a number of Chinese and Thai massage places to supplement. When I found Fong's Massage Therapy I was looking for the highest rated Yelp! business in Boston Chinatown... And then it was history... I actually just showed up randomly on a Sunday to see if I could get a session in. First, I was expecting a store front on the main level of Washington Street but it's actually in an office building of sorts where you have to buzz in. There's no major signage for Fong's except for the buzzer label. The office is nice and very comfortable (nice cool temperature, soothing lighting and music and comfy BarcaLoungers for waiting. I didn't have an appointment but Kathy was available. I didn't realize it was cash only so I said I would come back after going to the ATM. However Kathy offered to perform the treatment and then I could go get cash but just leave my ID. I was like wow! And I wasn't sure what to do so I ended up doing what she suggested. The first session was amazing. Kathy basically checks out what's wrong and then administers the appropriate treatment. The method here is not like some of the many (excellent) massage therapists employ where there's almost a set sequencing of therapy. I was really tight so Kathy walked on me first to loosen me up. And then the remainder of the session was pretty intense--I usually fall asleep during no my massage therapy sessions but the pain was so intense and body work so deep that I couldn't fall asleep! The first session was so good that I set up an appointment for about 10 days later. During my second session I had gua-sha (spooning) done. This is where Kathy too lo a Chinese soup spoon and "scraped" it all over my back, neck and arms. Wow, I felt really good afterwards. Fong also checked me out as Kathy saw that I had a mountain of a knot on my back. Fong said there was a misalignment and that an adjustment would be helpful. I wasn't mentally ready to get adjusted then but I am today (third session). I am waiting for my treatment and I am hearing the "screams" of pain coming from the patient currently being treated. I can't wait!

My daughter and I were visiting from out of town and I accidentally left a very valuable piece of jewelry in the room after our appointment. I asked if they would be willing to ship it back to me if I paid for it and they agreed. They have kept in constant contact with me the entire time and even paid for extra insurance on the package for me just to be on the safe side. It looked like a tiny massage place from the outside, but when I knocked I was pleasantly surprised -- the interior is beautiful, serene, and immaculately clean. I immediately booked a 90-minute massage. The price was incredible: their cash rate shows $80 for one hour, but I booked a 90-minute session and paid only $120 (plus tip) -- an absolute steal that felt like a $150 experience. The massage itself was outstanding: skilled, attentive, and perfectly tailored to my needs. Each treatment room is individualized and thoughtfully arranged, and the whole operation felt extremely professional. If you get the chance, book ahead -- Rose Health Spa is a hidden gem in Chinatown and a must-visit for anyone looking for top-quality care at an amazing value. Highly recommend!

We booked a couples massage, and throughout the entire massage, the two masseuses were speaking to each other. The staff then yelled at us and refused to let us leave until we tipped. Fortunately, my fiancé was able to get us out of the situation. This was incredibly uncomfortable and, frankly, frightening. This is located on the ground level and when you first walk in, it's very clean and relaxing. I did a walk in on the weekend and they were able to help me with a 60 min massage immediately. You need to pay for the service first and they're also cash only. They bring you to a room where it's pretty no frills, but the massage was amazing. My masseuse told me to tell her if she needed to change the pressure, and she was able to accommodate. She focused heavily on my neck and lower back, and she was so strong - in the best way because I like deep tissue massages. She spent a full 60 min with me and towards the end, she advised me to do cupping. I didn't see this as upselling - she seemed concerned that there was still tension. I did the cupping and she even mentioned that she was doing to do cupping all over my body instead of just my back because of the tension. After 1 hour and 15 min, I was done and felt less tension in my muscles. I would definitely come back. They were reasonably priced and I felt great at the end.
