I had an appointment for full Brazilian at 6:45 and arrived at 6:47. I acknowledge that I was late and that is my own fault. I apologized and was met with attitude from Elise. Fast forward to my wax, Elise seemed very angry with me and said all of two words to me the entire time. There was no hi how are you, just straight to it. I could feel that Elise was angry with me by the way she roughly waxed me. I understand being upset about my tardiness but taking your anger out during an already painful process is just plain mean. I go about every 2-3 months and the lady I usually go to no longer works there, which then I decided to try another lady. THAT WAS THE WORST MISTAKE EVER.I honestly thought she was going to ripe the top of my vagina off. She did not heat the wax up, no distraction conversation, very rough. Overall: a horrible way to remove hair, and rather unpleasant. Hurts very slightly less than waxing if you count each strip HOWEVER they have to go over each area at least 3 times to get the hair off, and even now there are patches that haven't been taken off. (I do have very light hair so that does make it trickier.) It takes an eternity: I went in for a full leg and bikini line and with waxing this would take about 30 mins max, but I was in there for an hour... Because sugaring uses a large glob of sugar paste, the results are very patchy since there's no way to get a straight line, so my bikini area looks super messy. Also, even though it hurts a tiny bit less than waxing on the legs, it hurts way more on the bikini line since it's so sensitive and the glob is so hard to control. It also leaves sticky residue all over your legs. Sure, this will take off 80% of your hair, but it is FAR from pleasant. Here's the deal: hair removal hurts regardless, so I'd rather have it be as quick as possible so that the pain doesn't last as long. I will definitely be sticking to waxing... (For context, I've been waxing since I was 14 and have a pretty high pain threshold.) read more

That was the worst sugaring appt of my life and I've been having it done for 6 years. I don't even know who sugared me because she didn't introduce herself. I was in and out for a Brazilian in less 10 minutes, which is just ridiculous. She ripped out huge sections of hair and didn't allow any time for the skin to calm down. I have been looking for a sugaring wax place since I've moved to Boston. Originally I go to rewaxation in SF, CA for my Brazilian wax. So I decided to give here a try and I have strong opinions about this place. The inside of the place was cute but super hot. It didn't seem to have any ventilation. When it was my turn to be waxed, I noticed the wax came from a plastic cup which was microwaved. I didn't think anything of it but when it was applied it wasn't warm enough. When it was being pulled away from me my skin wasn't taut enough so it was super painful. It was quick and not done super thoroughly. I was told my hairs were too short but upon inspection there were hairs longer than 1/4 inch. If I didn't know any better I would think this was normal but I've been getting sugared for the last three years. It was super disappointing and I had to write a review right away. read more

Air conditioner was broken, so the wax was not the intended temperature and waxer explained it "should not be like this" and caused significant additional pain and irritation 2. Whole place under construction, no windows or anything, completely unprofessional feel vs what is advertised 3. After apologizing and telling her the service was less than adequate versus what they normally provide (literally the sguar wax was not working because the place was too hot) charged her in full and did not offer any discount. Her skin is irritated, more than regular waxes do. Also she was literally covered in sweat from the pain and heat (because no ac...) and still had to go to work after. Needless to say we will never be using this service again, fair warning to others, wait until their construction is done and AC is working, and if they continue having negative reviews you know to avoid this place. read more

I went here about a year ago and I've never been more furious at a staff compared to any company. Yes, including customer service conversations with your TV provider. I'm a busy college student and at the time I had an event coming up and needed to get some waxing. I decided to try sugaring based on a referral from my friend. I made an appointment by phone call for 2pm on a weekday. I had class before the appointment, so when I received a phone call 10 minutes before my class got out, I couldn't answer. I immediately called the number back which was, as you guessed it, the salon. She told me she was calling to change my appointment to about an hour later. Because I didn't answer, apparently that meant "yes, go ahead and change my appointment, you may assume I do nothing." I told her it could not be changed it because I had another class that started during that time. She said, "oh, let me see if I can change it back." Change it back?? I found out they wanted to book someone else during my appointment time... not sure why?? Makes no sense??? Why would you put one client over another?? Like even if I was a famous person they would have no clue (I'm not, but the point follows). Anyways, she said it might not be able to be changed and I told her that's too bad, I'm coming in during my appointment time. I went in and told the lady in front of the client who replaced time that she shouldn't change people's appointments without their approval. She replied with "oh my manager said it was okay." ....uh huh. Great A+ manager. Either way, shouldn't have happened. Besides this, pretty good sugaring job. (That's why the extra star.) read more

I consistently went to this place to get sugared. The place is clean, staff is nice but scheduling is a huge problem. I understand cancelling appointments once in a while because of course life happens, but I have been rescheduled three times because staff called out so there is no one to provide the service. If you are late to the appointment they mark you as a no show and charge you half of your service price but if they cancel your appointment in less than 24 hrs which they have for me on multiple occasions there are no repercussions that they have to face. My advice to anyone is to book way in advance, not right before vacation like I did because chances of them keeping the appointment is slim to none. read more

This location is conveniently located between a short walk from either Copley or Hynes Convention Center on Newbury Street. I've been coming here since September of 2019 and kept coming back because I prefer this method to regular waxing. Not only has sugar wax improved the way my hair grows back by decreasing my chances of ingrown hair, it's also been less painful. It's been amazing to come to this location knowing my body will be taken care of the way it's meant to. My preferred staffer is Emily and she takes such good care of my waxes. She is very gentle, ensures that I get the result that I desire and gives great advice on what I need to do and not do between waxes so that my skin looks and feels the way it's meant to. However, I'm 7 months pregnant and I'm struggling with all this hair growing back 2min after I shave (#PregnantWomanProblems). I kept seeing commercials on YouTube (legit, right? lol), so I said, "you can do this, Sophie!" Yesterday I went to Sugaring Boston. I was late (of course because of the whole parking situation). I called in advance to let them know I was running late, and Reeya was patient with me. I am unusually sensitive these days, but this experience was not bad at all. 1. There's a fan in the room 2. I was able to put my underwear on without the fear of trickles of blood getting on my lovely VS undies (happened after my horrible wax experience) 3. I was able to walk like NORMAL after the experience (unlike after that wax where I was sore, traumatized, and close to... crying?) 4. Reeya was patient with me & I didn't feel so embarrassed for sweating so much (sorry Reeya :( yikes) 5. I don't think my special parts have ever been this smooth since I was a newborn (two words: NO BUMPS like that wax... ugh... you know) 6. My butt crack is exceptionally smooth! Ok, seriously. I have NEVER had this done before and I have to say I have been missing out. I never knew I'd feel like a different woman with a smooth butt crack. I feel super clean. This place was my go-to when Rupa was still an employee. She was hygienic, professional and made sure things felt alright, even during my first sugaring experience. When she left to work elsewhere, I decided to book with Yue, assuming I would receive the same great treatment. But I was very wrong. Yue did not prep or clean the area before she even started sugaring, and she even chastised me on trimming some of the area prior to sugaring. Also, even though I have only ever booked for a full bikini, Yue tried to wax EVERYTHING. Even when I tried to explain what I wanted, she defended herself by saying that she has always done it her way, and ignored what I said. Treatment: A definite 10/10... as comfortable as hair removal can get. The process was fast, involved minimal pain and the results look awesome. Office/Location: A 9/10, with one point being deducted only for the lack of easy parking availability. The office was clean, stylish, welcoming, and spacious. Staff: 7/10. The receptionist was not impolite by any means, but definitely less welcoming than I was expecting. The young woman who did my treatment (Allison) was professional, but hardly incited conversation at all during the process, which is a downside for me since talking distracts from the pain. But since the pain was minimal, it wasn't a dealbreaker for me. Overall: I highly recommend coming here for professional sugaring in an upscale environment, but keep in mind that you may have to ask up-front for your assigned staff member to talk through the process, if that's something that matters to you. read more

I came here to do my eyebrows and upper lip, but there is still a lot of hair. My specialist told me that sugaring helps with cleaning up, and not giving perfectly defined eyebrows in the middle of doing it. The upper lip hurt and it was quite red after her pulling at the hair multiple times. I'm a student and $30 is quite a bit. The only advantage of coming here was that my specialist was sweet and didn't mind going over my eyebrows again when I told her to. I'll probably not be coming here again. read more

Unfortunately, I will not recommend this place to anyone. 1) the absence of a master of any shugaring technique - one had the impression that she was doing this for the first time. 2) based on the first point - VERY HURT. In the bikini zone master of shugaring glued sugar on the clitoris and of course when she tore off the sugar it was incredibly painful. How can you do this ???? 3) irritation on the skin. I do shugaring not for the first time, but for the first time I have SUCH inflammation on the skin. 4) sugar residues throughout the body. 5) Is it worth saying that I didn't get any smooth skin after the procedure (absolutely nowhere)? legs as if nobody touched and in the bikini zone "pieces" of hair 6) payment! I chose a full bikini,half legs and and underarm . master considered the cost of the Brazilian bikini and half legs as a combo, because it was supposedly cheaper. why brazilian bikini? I went here for an eyelash lift/tint and it was one of the worst experiences I've had in the industry. Im originally from New York and have had lash lifts many times. My experience here first started with a very rude receptionist. I had had called while I was on my way over in an Uber because it began to snow and I told them I was running a little late... I was met with a rude response and attitude quote "Well..you have a 10 minute grace period. so". Needless to say I arrived within that time frame. As soon as I arrived I was rushed into the room. Jaylene was the name of the person who I was able to see. She told me that it was requirement for her to take pictures of my eyelashes before and after. I told her no that I wouldn't consent to that. ( I don't want my face being posted online ). When I was done with my appointment she gave me the mirror and it looked like absolutely nothing had been done to my lashes. When I went to check out with the receptionist she was having issue with the card machine and computer. While I waited for her to try and solve this issue I kept looking at my lashes and I told her that I was really disappointed in the way that they looked. (They were the worst I ever had). The receptionist the responded " Well I don't have any before and after pictures so I wouldn't know". Her machine was still not working and she said she would talk to management about how much I should pay or reschedule. At this point I knew I would NEVER return here nor would I pay for a service that wasn't even provided. When I got home I had to wipe off all of the crust left on my eyelids. AWFUL !!!!! read more

I booked an appointment at 7:30 on 8/16. I showed up and they were closed. No email, no text, no phone call, no message. There were two other customers waiting there too with the same situation. They said they had a COVID scare and had to close, but that does not prevent them from calling me from home. I work two jobs- one at a hospital and drove an hour and a half back from Cape Cod just to make this appointment. Extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. She is the reason I go back but unfortunately my most recent visit my appointment was pushed back to 15 minutes the day of which was fine and I find out that the tech, Ayleen has to leave early and again things happen I've had a rushed session. First I did say, I'm very sensitive- she was ripping the hair out of my body with so much force she was banging her hand on the table and it hurts! This isn't my first time but my previous had been significantly less painful and my whole body was contracting and I was wincing. I was bleeding after afterwards. The whole appointment took less than 10 minutes and I mentioned before anything started this isn't my first time but my skin is SO sensitive. I have a super low pain tolerance so I wouldn't say this is an enjoyable experience BUT this is my second time sugaring and I'm super happy with the results! I waited about 6 or 7 weeks before coming back after my first appointment and there wasn't too much hair at all. I was comfortable not shaving during that time. I had Ruby this time and she was sweet and talked me through how long to wait next time and why. She also tried to be as thorough as possible and get the little hairs which I appreciated. The whole process was less than 5 minutes. I definitely suggest getting the soothing oil after your wax! The reason I took off a star was because Yelp currently has a promotion where you can get a free underarm wax and they told me the promotion had changed and it was only 50% off so I paid $10 which isn't bad but I wish they had honored the deal.
