Came here on a Saturday and it was busy - had to wait 15 mins. The ambience in the place is nice and the hot towel and water is a nice touch before you start the massage. I got the East meets West massage - my masseuse was polite and the massage itself was decent, except that my masseuse's hand was shaking the whole time. I don't mean to be disrespectful in anyway - but a massage isn't quite relaxing when the hand massaging your neck and shoulders is constantly shaking. I left this massage in significantly more pain, despite clearly explaining my concerns about my neck and shoulders and noticing issues with the setup before the session began. The therapist ignored multiple concerns, especially about the room setup and type of massage. When I questioned the lack of bars I was to I they don't step on backs; yet, despite me saying not to if it wasn't allowed, he stepped on my back anyway once I was in a compromised position. I had to repeatedly change positions due to discomfort. He eventually sat me up on the mattress, kneeled behind me and worked on my neck in a way that left me in pain for three days. When I called to explain what happened, I was only offered another massage at 50% off and told to return immediately, which felt inappropriate given the harm I experienced and level of pain I was in. My body needed time to heal. I hate to post this and typically love Thai massages, I believe they can be deeply healing, but I am sharing this to warn others, as my needs were not respected at this establishment and the treatment did the opposite of what I sought. read more

I booked an appointment for a 90-minute East Meets West massage when I came in town. Cherry was my assigned massage therapist and she was great! If you've never had a Thai massage, you might want to do a little research so that you don't get surprised by some of the methodology. My friend was in pain from muscle knots in back could hardly move. I highly recommend this spa the therapist worked wonders with her deep tissue therapy and helped him get the relief he needed. Booked two massages last minute with Joshua and Opal - had high expectations and it did not disappoint! The staff was incredibly professional as well. Price: New customers get a 15% discount, as advertised on their website. We didn't even have to ask, they added it with the final bill automatically! Location: We went to the Newbury Street location. The building was easy to find, in a great location. The spa is on the second floor. Cleanliness: The lobby was well decorated and nice. The rooms itself were very clean, as was the bathroom. Bought a massage for my wife. However she got COVID. When I called, I asked to cancel. The person on the phone then proceeded to tell me to show up with a mask on and asked for proof. Afterwards, I asked twice to clarify they wanted someone with COVID to show up. She said yes but she can wear a mask. They then charged my card the full amount for a massage we never went to. I would never go to a business that lacks health and safety standards like this. Both to the safety of their workers and customer. Always been meaning to come here and when I arrived I was so delighted because the environment was so inviting and relaxing. I have the most wonderful massage therapist named Opal! She had such good energy and is very well experienced. In fact I'm going to have her massage me each time I go there. We had a FANTASTIC deep tissue couples massage from Josh & Kim. We're visiting from CT, otherwise I would come back here monthly! Their pressure and technique was on point. My partner and I both spend 8-12 hrs on the computer daily and have some really intense knots and tightness to work through. Both masseuses were methodical, applying pressure expertly, and communicating regularly when we needed less pressure. Kim coached me to breathe through some of my tightness which really released my hips. Loved this place, will come back next time we're in Boston! I spoke with the owner of the business on the phone, who proceeded to hang up on me. So I'm now out $160 and have received no service in exchange. I agree with Josh!!! I wish I had taken his review as a red flag, but decided to give it a chance due to everyone else's positive reviews. I definitely will not be coming back here. The masseuse was so kind and friendly, and did an alright job. I've experienced many different massage spas, and this one was by far my least favorite. To piggyback off of Josh's review -- there was a sign at the desk that says gratuity is OPTIONAL and they RECOMMEND 20%. I agree with Josh that gratuity is for above and beyond service and customer service. The receptionist even asked if there was anything wrong, and I told her it was average and expressed my concern for what I thought wasn't that great. She then asked if I wanted to leave AT LEAST 15%, and I told her no, and she pushed me again to leave at least "something" for the masseuse. I left a tip, but I really do not think receptionists should be pushing customers to leave gratuity. You don't see waiters at restaurants asking for customers to leave tip for them... Response to owner: The therapist asked about my areas and pressure and I told him exactly what I wanted. This was my second time at Viyada. I went for a couple's massage. The woman who gave me my massage is Sophie or Sophia I believe. I went in with a really bad pain on left foot from spraining it a couple of days before. I was limping I couldn't wear heels, I mean it was bad. I told her about it and she went crazyyyyyyyyy on that foot, she did warn me that it would be painful and I was lowkey screaming in that room BUT I left painless, able to walk normally again and I wore heels that night. I truly believe that she helped my foot with the massage she spent like 15 mins on that foot and it was well worth it. Thank you, Sophia/Sophie! I will be back! read more

I am hesitant with how many stars to give Viyada. On a trip to Boston, I last minute (same day) booked an hour massage & hour foot massage for both my boyfriend and I. They were able to accommodate us 3 hours after I called which we were thrilled about. When we got there I went in one room and my boyfriend went in another & we alternated services. I received a foot massage first while he received full massage. While I was receiving my foot massage there was 3 separate occasions where the massage therapist fell asleep...like would wake out of it and shake. When I asked him about it he said "the oil is slick". I find it very odd that someone would be falling asleep multiple times during a service & even more strange that it happened MULTIPLE times. The full body massage (I got a Thai massage) on the other hand was lovely and I'd definitely recommend it! read more

Went for a couples massage. Cost 225. After the massage the receptionist tries to make me pay 20% tip for each of us. I tell her 1. That's not how tips work, you don't multiple 20% and pay that amount for each person. 2. Tips are for above and beyond service and 100% optional. She then gets upset and tries to talk to her manager. She reluctantly returns and I still give them 15% tip for the masseuse. Terrible customer service and I definitely won't be returning here or recommending this place to anyone. read more

We had an excellent experience at Viyada. My husband and I booked a couples massage with Kimberly and Opal as our massage therapists. We were here for the first time. They had some promotions on their website and they honored it without us even mentioning it. As a breastfeeding mom, I made Kimberly aware that I can't lay on my chest and she was very accommodating. I also said I would like a deep tissue and she was able to do that, as well, despite the accommodation. She checked in on me to make sure I was comfortable and confirmed the level of pressure. The massage was both relaxing and healing for me. Kimberly released tension in places I didn't even know I held tension - namely my hips. I left feeling so much better than I came in. My husband also liked his massage - he always falls asleep when the massage is good. A few minutes in and the snoring commenced. Overall it was a great experience. I would specifically recommend Kimberly for prenatal and postpartum massages. Although, I think she could probably accommodate most people. We were visiting Boston, but if we were local we would definitely become regulars. read more

He had an excellent knowledge of the body & was able to isolate muscles I wasn't really aware were there!
