Stopped in aspen on our way home for some lunch. Sway didn't have a wait which was great! We sat outside on the patio and it was very nice. We arrived during their happy hour which was a surprise. We ordered a couple of plates to share for the table. The short rib fried rice was my favorite and a close second was the crispy shumai! The happy hour was a very reasonable price and we were all full by the end. If you are in town you should check out Sway!

Great service, ambience and excellent food to top it all! Loved the lighting here, really adds to the experience. Their drink menu is excellent, tried their 'same same tonic' which is made with galangal and lime, gin and tonic, best drink I have ever had. Minimalistic but so so good! For the appetizers their vegetarian momos really hit the spot with the sauce it came with. Green curry was so good, not that spicy but really good flavor! The best part was the dessert, jasmine tea pannacotta was the best dessert I have ever had! Subtle flavors of jasmine tea, shaved ice and crispy meringue. I will never forget how special it felt to be devouring this! We had a great time here! Highly recommend this place!

Sway Thai Fusion was recommended by a friend who lives in Woody Creek. She said she had a fantastic experience so of course she wanted her Florida friends to check it out. We arrived and the ambiance was really artsy and earthy. Loved it! (Taurus vibes!) We were seated right away and the seating was roomy and comfy. I loved that their menu was a manageable size and there weren't an astronomical amount of choices. We asked our server, Daniel (who was fantastic btw), for suggestions and we were steered in the right direction! First courses included the appetizer special - salmon miange, and dumplings crispy pork + shrimp * fermented black bean, kewpie mayo, herb salad, red nahm jim. Ohhhh my gosh both of these were so freakin' good I was making all the food noises and couldn't stop! lol The dumplings were covered in crispy shallots and the spicy sauce was whoooo spicy but the flavor--mwah! Couldn't have been better. Those salmon bites were served on bai cha plu (wild pepper leaves I believe) and wow, were they just succulent. The salmon was fatty and rich. The lemongrass was so refreshing. I could have eaten twenty of those things, but I digress. The second courses were the chicken pad Thai and the panang curry with short rib. I say that I've never had a panang curry like what Sway offers. The pad Thai was beautifully prepared. They didn't mail it in. The most commonly ordered Thai dish was definitely given its due respect. But that damn panang curry. It was so unique and earthly! Not the pink/red/creamy typical panang curry I've had in the past. It was a deep brown, almost like mole but with coconut cream added and the meat was juicy and tender. My mouth was overjoyed. Let's get to this dessert though! I want it right now. I think I'll want it everyDAY for the rest of my life. It was a banana mousse brulee. Typically I never get dessert at Thai places b/c they are just wack. Either over sweet or just not my thing ("fried" ice cream, fried banana, etc.) But this dessert was one of the top ten desserts I've had this year so far. I was like a bananas foster creme brulee. It was so freaking good, I wanted to order another one immediately! But I was afraid the Aspen Task Force of Acceptable Social Activites would swoop in and arrest me for big back behavior :( Overall, I was thoroughly pleased and I can't wait to return. I hope Sway can hang in Aspen's highly competitive restaurant scene. I don't drink so I can't speak to the cocktails but the food was spectacular. Thank you Sway, you have my heart! Another review giving it to you straight, no chaser! Enjoy! ;)

In the mood for delicious Thai food in downtown Aspen? Sway Thai Aspen is a must. Excellent service; high quality, fresh ingredients; thoughtfully prepared; central location; upscale & classy feel; not cheap but relatively affordable compared to most options in town; paid parallel street parking during morning/afternoon, evenings free; intimate bar; moderate noise level but lighting was a bit too dark (was hard to see detail of food & the person sitting across from me); overall, great food, service & experience. Highly recommended. Support your local small businesses & restaurants.

This place was definitely a food highlight for me during our time in Aspen. Maybe that's because we had only been eating at Italian restaurants up until then, but I really loved my curry at this place. Not sure if my family would agree since they had some complaints about the dishes and service, but overall we had a very enjoyable time. We all agreed that the green curry was the best but that the pad Thai and fried dishes were either too bland or too saucy without flavour. We actually ended up sending almost two full plates back. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my curry. Maybe I just got lucky and ordered the right thing but I loved my dinner!

In honesty, I'm giving it one more star simply because eating there, the service was the additional star. The pad see ew is adequate, with enough seasoning to remind you of the classic dish, though it doesn't quite stand out. There is no spice to the dish; the chili crisp upon request was more salty tha spicy. The wonton soup and wonton noodle soup are comforting choices--especially on a cold day--but the flavors could use a bit more depth. It really tasted a little lack luster; more on the sweet side. They also offer boba drinks, though these appear to be powder-based rather than freshly brewed. There are several fried rice options to choose from, which adds some variety to the menu. Seating is limited, so it's better suited for takeout or a quick meal. Overall, a serviceable spot that satisfies a Thai food craving when in a pinch, but not one that feels especially memorable.

Really lacked flavor and I'd say quantity of food + flavor + price warranted it a 3. We paid with tip, roughly $32 for Pad Se Ew Thai....They charge $5 for tofu. Was surprised that the dish cost $19 with no meat or tofu, but granted it is Aspen/Snowmass so I get it, but once you added in the tofu and tip came out to $32. Presentation of the food, actually looked great! Server was helpful. Potentially could have better flavor on other dishes, but I'd still think 32 for one entree is pretty pricey.

Service is outstanding, food is scrumptious and the menu is even more varied and delicious when you dine in. We ordered two appetizers, crying tiger and crispy chicken wings. There were a few little fountains on the perimeter, turf on the ground, and decorations hanging from the trees. They had a really nice high chair with a tray for our baby. It felt like kids were welcomed even though the vibe felt upscale. They had plastic kids plates and cups. They were very accommodating of our sons dairy allergy. Even though they don't have an official kids menu they were helpful finding something that our 3yr old and baby might like. I got the yellow curry with tofu and it was excellent. The curry sauce was flavorful and warming.

I hit this spot on a Friday evening, and the space is actually legit--plenty of room to move around so you aren't cramped up while you're trying to wind down from the day. I started with the chicken Tom Kha, which was exactly what I needed to cut through the cold. For the main, the beef Pad See Ew held its own. The flavors were balanced and the beef was cooked right. I've had my fair share of Thai food across different cities, so while I wouldn't call this the absolute greatest of all time, it's definitely high-quality for a mountain town. It's good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a much better move than whatever quick-service options are at the base. If you want a meal that actually matches the energy of a good day on the slopes, check them out. It's a smooth, reliable four stars.
