    Sweet bites
    Jenny C.

I wanted to like this place. I really did. We went for lunch and ordered the heirloom tomatoes, chile relleno, quail, and sweet bites. Service was good and presentation was spectacular - true work of art. Unfortunately this was not reflected in the taste: Heirloom tomatoes - certainly fresh and good quality but that's it. Just tomatoes. The seasoning didn't add much to make it worth it's hefty cost Chile relleno - probably liked this the most since it was the most flavorful Quail - batter was that of a classic "fish and chips" type batter as opposed to the lightness of tempura. Tbh, quail is too small to eat gracefully in a fried form. The accompanying pickled veggies were too one dimensional - just sour. Not much else. Sweet bites - the bon bons were good and thought the shortbread was excellent til I had the second one. Could've sworn I tasted a hint of freezer burn on it. With its current price tag, I cannot justify returning

I ate at element 47 on January 9th with my family for my brothers birthday. Zack was our waiter and him and the rest of the staff made sure we had the perfect experience. It was the best dinner service we've ever had. Will 100% be going back. Food and presentation was also phenomenal. I highly recommend element 47 to anyone visiting Aspen, Colorado.

I heard this was a Michelin guide restaurant, so I had to check it out during our trip to Aspen...even without my husband and son (out skiing!). As expected, the place was nice (located within a first-rate hotel, Little Nell), and the service was top notch...from start to finish. Surprisingly, I was able to slide right in without a reservation...and I loved the lofty space and the wide, open views from my seating area. Since this was an early lunch, I just ordered their Fettucini and one of their virgin libations, Gonzo. Even for lunch, they treated me to these delicious complimentary rolls. I will say that their lunch menu was quite skimpy...but in the end, this wasn't a problem. Well, the Fettuccini was Gorgeous...as in pure Food Art...and it tasted even better! It was this green-colored, Pesto flavored Fettuccini, and included these tasty Lardons (cubes of ham). I absolutely LOVED this dish. Really enjoyed the virgin drink, Gonzo, too. This was truly one of my favorite, leisure dining experiences in Aspen. Unlike most other places I've been to, the tables were laid out comfortably apart from others. The service was impeccable...and In terms of food, this Fettuccini dish was possibly THE favorite from my entire Aspen vacation!

This place must be better for dinner than it is for breakfast / lunch. Extremely limited menu and food was generally unspectacular for the price. Overall, I'd pass on this establishment.

This restaurant earns the prize for worst service in Aspen. The standard of service was very poor. We struggled to get the attention of restaurant staff, the pacing of the meal was off, it took a long time to be asked for drinks to start and for them to be served. In general, the wait staff lacked basic grace, style, charm. Moreover, we found the food to be bland and uninspired. The wine was excellent.

    How is this 5 Star/Forbes 5 Diamond???

NOT worthy of 5 Star/Forbes 5 Diamond Property. Husband & I have visited three times for brunch this summer. We've given it 3 chances because of the location hoping for a better experience after 1st two terrible experiences. Very low-quality food for obscene price. While we are the opposite of cheap, we were both starving after our tiny Huevos Rancheros and Breakfast Enchiladas. There is no way we could last until lunch with these little portions let alone have the energy to walk the Rio Grande. We were not looking to pig out. We just wanted a proper filling satisfying breakfast for morning energy. We were still so hungry that we ordered "poultry" sausage which was disgusting & supposed "Everything" bagels which tasted like generic "Nothing" plain stale bread rolls. Executive Chef can easily order high quality real NYC bagels from H&H Bagels wholesale. There is absolutely no reason to serve such a terrible excuse for a bagel. Not sure how the Little Nell keeps its 5 star/5 Forbes Diamond by serving such terrible food. Also, the seat of the booth we sat in was ripped (see pic). We felt like we were at Denny's. We wish Ajax Tavern was open for breakfast as they always get it right!

This is a pleasant restaurant in Aspen's most famous hotel. It's probably not quite as good as that description would suggest, but perfectly adequate. We had the five-course tasting menu, which was well presented, but without any real knockout courses, although there were tasty components in each. We also had both the sommelier and premium wine pairings. In each instance the premium wines were MUCH better. Service by the sommelier was friendly and informative. Food service was pretty slow, but the lovely outside summer dining area provided a pleasant venue to pass the time. While neither the meal nor the wines were knockouts, the pricing was certainly fair for what we were served.

The vibe here is classy and chill. A wonderful place for whatever you are in the mood for. Delicious food, tasty drinks, or relax by the fireplace with some snacks. I wish I asked our waiter's name as she provided excellent service and we really enjoyed our time. The gnocchi with oxtail was delicious!

Nell Wagyu Enchiladas so taste and the Avocado Toast also delicious and big portion.

If you happen to be staying at The Little Nell or visiting Aspen make brunch reservations at Element 47. Pancake lovers: try the Lemon Soufflé Pancakes, there's just the right amount of citrus in these decadent fluffy pancakes. Vegans & avo toast lovers try the Avocado Toast. Plentiful, perfectly seasoned mashed avocado with feta & pickled onions on house baked bread is superb. Another vegan option is the Warrior Pudding Bowl, this healthy dish is super flavorful, light yet filling. Ingredients include quinoa, hemp, chia & oat. The Nell's famous Hot Cocoa is rich, creamy & a quintessential tribute to Valrhona's top of the heap chocolate. The recipe includes half & half, sugar, Valrhona cocoa powder & chocolate. It's unreal! I'm a pastry fanatic so I always can't wait to hear what flavor hand pie (pop tart esque) is on the menu. I also stash one in my ski back pack, makes the chairlift ride even more fun!

We were able to combine two reservations and get a table for 9. It turned out that the whole menu was Pre Fixe and $150 pp plus expensive drinks. The price wasn't surprising given that it's Aspen proper. The restaurant seems to cater to the old rich and fancies itself as fine molecular dining. However, anyone who has been to Michelin star restaurants in places like NYC would immediately be able to tell that they're not at that level. Overall, the food was not bad, but it was just very small portions considering the price. I would try other places in town.

Our experience at Meat & Cheese in Aspen was disappointing from beginning to end…read more To start with, the food was mediocre in every sense. The quality did not justify the prices, the flavors were forgettable, and nothing we ordered stood out. Unfortunately, what happened afterward was far worse. My wife accidentally left behind a shopping bag containing a brand new pair of sunglasses she had purchased earlier that day. When she returned to retrieve them, our interaction with a server named Carson was deeply disappointing. Instead of simply confirming ownership in a courteous and professional manner, Carson repeatedly questioned whether the sunglasses were actually hers. He kept emphasizing that they were brand new and worth around $600, making it clear that he found it difficult to believe they belonged to her. It was impossible not to feel that she was being judged based solely on her appearance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with verifying ownership of a valuable item. In fact, we appreciate businesses that take lost property seriously. What is unacceptable is allowing assumptions and stereotypes to influence how customers are treated. One lesson worth remembering is that genuine elegance and long established wealth rarely need to announce themselves. Those who have had the privilege of success across generations often feel no need to advertise it with designer logos or outward displays. True class is reflected in education, humility, confidence, and, above all, in the way people treat others. Ironically, Carson's assumptions said far more about his own judgment than they did about my wife. No customer should ever be made to feel that they need to "look wealthy" in order to be treated with respect. We hope management addresses this issue seriously. The mediocre food was forgettable. Being judged and treated with prejudice is not. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and dignity, regardless of how they are dressed or what assumptions someone chooses to make about them.
