Great local sandwich shop in Vancouver. Unique selection, strange location, but definitely a local favorite.

Pull apart was lighter than I expected. Other place's pull apart was so buttery, cheesy, however, this one was flaky and buttery, so, if you prefer light texture pull apart, you will like it. Cream cheese filling was nice accent. Pistachio loaf was more dense than I expected. It had pistachio whipped cream on top, so, cream helped loaf texture more smooth. Loaf had strong pistachio flavor. I liked whipped cream and loaf combination. Pesto and mozzalera swirl was a bit too salty for me. Dough was super flaky and buttery, I liked the dough texture so much, but filling could be more minder. Unfortunately, I did not have ferrero rocher danish. I heard that this one was the best. Mousse was so delicious and dough was very flaky and buttery. Overall, I think their pastries are always outstanding and good quality. The place was extremely busy and could not get a table. Next time, I wish I could dine-in.

It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon with only bar seating available initially, but not too long after some sofa space opened up. I was OBSESSED with the ube matcha, I learned from the super awesome barista that it's sweetened with mango puree. This was absolutely my favorite matcha I've had in a while now and my only disappointment is they don't offer larger sizes for it. The smoked salmon bun was pretty small for $10, I also didn't think the flavors were meshing well. Also found the pull apart stuffed cream cheese croissant a bit misleading. I pulled it apart and there was barely any filling unfortunately. Definitely a cute and inviting spot to grab a drink and stay a while. I wouldn't go for food food here though. Also I have yet to try, but maybe a dessert item here would be more worthwhile.

I've been here multiple times and each time was more disappointing than the next. Pros: The space is clean and well lit. The owners are nice..? For the most part they seem nice but one of them had an ear piece in so I wasn't sure if he was talking to me or someone else . Cons: the drinks are always awful. As soon as you walk in, it doesn't smell of coffee. My friend and I have ordered multiple times and both of us agree that the coffee tastes bland and off. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and it came out looking beautiful. One sip and I couldn't continue. It had an off, slightly fishy taste. I hate wasting food but this is the first time I had ever thrown out a full beverage, but I just couldn't consume anymore. I walked across the street to Take 5 and had a much tastier experience.

I've tried Waves Coffee 3-4 times at this location. The staff, who I believe are husband and wife…read more(owners, perhaps?), have served me an oat milk latte that wasn't very pleasant sort of watered down from the first attempt. A week later, my friend and I decided to give them another shot since we both work nearby, hoping it was just an off day. Unfortunately, the same results occurred. I like supporting local businesses, so I kept trying, but the quality remained the same. Maybe they don't know how to calibrate their coffee to fit their espresso machine, or it could be the water who knows? I've visited Waves in Coquitlam Centre, and the difference is night and day. I hope this location can improve their recipe or figure out what's causing their coffee to taste off.

What I didn't expect was how great things can come in small packages. The location is very tight and cozy, as space is small. It was beautifully furnished with some cute and vintage decor. The only downside I had in my experience is that it was really hot when I went, which made it really hot in the building. People were sweating like hot tea. Now what I am excited to talk about the high tea itself! My 3 friends and I shared a pot of cream of earl grey. The taste was rich and creamy (depending on how much cream and sugar you put). I really enjoyed the blend of the tea, it made me start drinking tea again at home. The food was great as it came with an assortment of sweet and savory pasteries. I really enjoyed the spinach puff pastry and lavender lemon tarts! It was just how you would have imagined. Flaky pastry with a creamy spinach and the tart lemon paired with a buttery crust. I just wish I had more of those to eat! You only get one per person. It's also worth mentioning that the staff were super helpful. We mentioned that one guest had a nut allergy and they were able to accommodate by bringing our friend her own separate tray! They also refilled our tea and cream quite often. We really felt like royalty with the service provided! I will be coming again! It definitely was a pleasure being there.

I had heard…read morenegative things about this place compared to other places for tea so I tried to talk her out of going. She said let's give it a try based on a recommendation from a friend. We were all pleasantly surprised. It wasn't so bad although they didn't have cloth napkins, we didn't get a choice of tea, the cups didn't match and there were some cheaper cutlery used, and finally there wasn't really a lot of food and the food was good but not anything remarkable.. I didn't like that the egg salad sandwiches used wonder bread or something of that quality. It could have been made a little more special and I wish there were more savoury items. Nevertheless, when we went, we got a choice of three rooms and it wasn't really busy so it was very nice. Usually your time is for an hour and 15 minutes, but we got to stay as long as we wanted. The staff were all very nice and friendly, which I appreciated and the decor was old-fashioned and the music was from the past so the ambiance was quite lovely. My mother really had a good time there, being her first high tea experience, with the added bonus of being able to spend some time in lovely Fort Langley. I would say it's worth a try.
