Freshly Brewed de - caffeinated coffee with hot almond milk steamed served 'on the side' was DELICIOUS. One of the best we've had in Canada! yes, THAT good FULL flavoured smooth & rich coffee delishishness. Why u may say only 3 stars ? Firstly the ordering process: 3 separate vignettes to share in the 15 minutes I was at the ordering counter; Multiple repeats as there were language issues, and it took a LONG TIME to get it STRAIGHT and correct, customers behind in the queue getting ANTSY threatening to leave , another getting overcharged as WRONG order got into the system / dat fella raised his voice & temper flared. Being patient (world travelled), this writer kept at it until both order taker (native Farsi speaker - nice guy, but struggling) & barista got it RIGHT. That took time, which is okay for us.... to a point.... Albeit a loss of star due to overall 'competence' of the entire experience: I bussed my own outdoor table and cleaned it prior to taking our seats...lotsa unbussed tables, clutter unsightly. Area around the condiments self serve was unkempt / dirty needed a tidy up. Self serve water dispenser empty = unacceptable in hospitality biz. Basic really, no time for chitchat with yer countrymen whilst yer place of business needs 'ATTENTION ' , however as I write this, the gent who was taking orders is sitting & socializing whilst his tables remain unbussed = curious. Speaking with other clients afterward.... concensus was: BEST aspect of this Waves location was, and I quote: " it's not SBUX". That is faint praise. Value is another story. 9 dollars Canadian for two large decaf coffees, no food, is spendy & Lose a star relative to ambience comfort cleanliness. That's how we arrived at 3 stars for today's visit. Some of the 'issues'CAN be rectified. This COULD be a 4 star coffeehouse. Staff are pleasant and trying, coffee was really tasty. So in future...possibly.. if,,, if... Interested enough to return... Will our next visit report they've sorted their 'service / cleanliness' ?

Polite and friendly staff. It's my go to place for coffee and to get some work done. Cafe is clean, quite, and has good vibes. They have great options for coffee and tea. Me and my husband like their latte, espresso macchiato and fresh brewed coffee, roobibod latte. My absolute favorite is Belgian Mocha - dark chocolate. Must try!!

Great staff at this Waves Location makes it my favourite Coffee Shop in Downtown Port Coquitlam. It's nice to go to a coffee shop (or whatever the place may be) and seeing the same people. The staff is small, but consistent, and I love that. In fact, I value that a lot. They know who you are, you know them, and it makes your day that much better. The coffee is good. Better than Starbucks? Perhaps. The food choices are better than Starbucks if I had to compare. This reminds me more of the late 90's Bread Garden, which I used to visit quite a bit. Good sandwich options and breakfast options too. The good thing about Waves over Starbucks is their occasional sales. $2 latte is a great deal once in a while. Their Matcha Green Tea Latte is also better, as Starbucks doesn't have this option. Starbucks may be a larger chain with a Points System, but you can still save a lot of money going to Waves when you take advantage of their frequent sale offerings. This place is a recommend. The staff are what makes it better than the average coffee shops.

Very nice coffee shop, right in the heart of Poco at Shaughnessy and McAllister. Free internet access, lots of parking, friendly staff. The usual range of coffees, lattes, caps and fraps. A wide assortment of cakes and treats, all very scrumptious. The only thing lacking was their tea in my opinion. They have a wide selection of teas, but none of them made a proper cup'o'tea. I let mine sit for 10 minutes and it was still not even close to strong enough for me. If you are a coffee shop you should know how to make a proper cup of tea in my opinion. Boiling hot water poured over the teabag in ceramic pot or mug (mini brown betty teapot works the best) is the traditional Canadian way. Every Tuesday nights they have an open mic for local musicians and talent, which is a lot of fun and very entertaining. The atmosphere is fantastic, lots of seats yet lots of elbow room. I am definitely going to become a regular customer.

    Artsy, roomy and comfortable!

This place is awesome. From the comfortable couch chairs, to the alternative milk options (soy, almond and coconut), to the amazing baristas, this waves location is a reliable place to come and relax. Most chain coffee shops come with the headache of long lineups and overcrowding, but Waves seems to maintain a good balance of a lively atmosphere and a certain level of serenity. And I must say, their lattes are better than other chain coffee shops in the area, by far! Definitely worth a visit.

    Hazelnut latte...super yum.

I love this place because not only does the service rock; their lattes are to die for! Morning baristas totally knew my usual (Hazelnut Latte) after two visits, they are quick and provide a delicious cup and amazing banana loaf. This is my new fave coffee place and I recommend that everyone come here!

Latte on a Easter Monday , it's sunny out and a good day.

Note that the vinaigrette has a small spice kick to it! - but i LOVE spice - so no issues here. Also had their special tiramisu latte - iced of course, since it was blazing hot outside - I wish the coffee had a stronger kick to it, as i found the sweetness to be a bit too dominate. They also sell all sorts of brewing equipment / presses, pour overs etc. And of course there own retail bags for their delicious coffee. However, as they mentioned, " subtle" , umami flavor faded, later on, it became a sweet hot chocolate. Soy garlic biscotti was a bit chewy and It had a strong soy sauce flavor. It is better to have it with hot chocolate and I liked the combination. I wish a hot chocolate Umami flavor lasted longer. Overall, still this place hot chocolate tasted very good.

Pull apart was lighter than I expected. Other place's pull apart was so buttery, cheesy, however, this one was flaky and buttery, so, if you prefer light texture pull apart, you will like it. Cream cheese filling was nice accent. Pistachio loaf was more dense than I expected. It had pistachio whipped cream on top, so, cream helped loaf texture more smooth. Loaf had strong pistachio flavor. I liked whipped cream and loaf combination. Pesto and mozzalera swirl was a bit too salty for me. Dough was super flaky and buttery, I liked the dough texture so much, but filling could be more minder. Unfortunately, I did not have ferrero rocher danish. I heard that this one was the best. Mousse was so delicious and dough was very flaky and buttery. Overall, I think their pastries are always outstanding and good quality. The place was extremely busy and could not get a table. This was absolutely my favorite matcha I've had in a while now and my only disappointment is they don't offer larger sizes for it. The smoked salmon bun was pretty small for $10, I also didn't think the flavors were meshing well. Also found the pull apart stuffed cream cheese croissant a bit misleading. I pulled it apart and there was barely any filling unfortunately. Definitely a cute and inviting spot to grab a drink and stay a while. I wouldn't go for food food here though. Starbuck's was Mr. B's favorite for coffee and we prefer the smaller independently owned coffee shops and Fox and Oak is a gem. Located in downtown Squamish, really on the outskirts of downtown. On our first visit it was a latte for Mr. B and a Chai Latte for me, both were creamy, filled with rich flavor without being bitter. We also shared a maple walnut donut. Oh it was so good. I can't say the last time I had a donut, but when in Canada, maple anything is always so good. The donut was light and had a lovely maple glaze on the top and then toasted walnuts. So good! On our second visit, we had the same drinks, the same Maple Walnut Donut and added a blueberry fritter. The fritter was crunchy on the outside, after the first bite we could see the layers of dough much like a croissant and in the middle were loads of fresh blueberries. Wow, fresh berries and not a sweet fake blueberry gel. It truly was scrumptious. Parking is on the street and can be tight, but both times we found parking even with a short walk.
