I was a regular at Sutha, coming in at least once a week. But over the past couple of months the quality of customer service as well as the food has gone significantly down. On more than one ocassion I ordered a cucumber salad and never received it... every time I reminded the waitress she answered with "you didn't order it." very frustrating. The last straw was my last visit with co-workers where everyone got their plate at the same time but mine was given to me almost as everyone was done. I was born and raised and Downey, but never thought the Asian restaurants in Downey would be that great compared to those in Cerritos & the OC area. It was just on a whim that I stumbled upon this place on Yelp, so I decided to try this place out. Fantastic! The panang curry had a great balance of spices and lots of chicken. The pad thai was not greasy and not too sweet. The tom yum goong was spicy and had a lot of flavor (it did burn my mouth after awhile). Overall, I honestly have to say that this place beats my long-time favorite Thai place in Cerritos (if you're from the 562 area you know what place I'm talking about... it's tiny & hidden in a commercial lot). A questionable hair in the rice (and with the soup picture on here, a little worried). Their spice level is really good for the fire level. This is closer and more convenient. read more

It's nice to have a good Thai place so near our home. They have good meal deals. I chose Dinner #3, which included choice of soup or salad (I had the salad), battered shrimp appetizer, shrimp fried rice, and a shrimp entree (I chose the spicy shrimp). The salad was ok, it had a really sweet honey mustard dressing. The battered shrimp were really nice. As was the spicy shrimp entree and the fried rice. The wifey had the pad see ew (rice noodles and beef and broccoli.) She really liked it. The place is quite American-ized though. There are hardly any thai names in the menu. But the food was good. Also, they brought out all of my food before bringing out my wife's one dish. They need to work on their timing a little bit. The prices are very reasonable too. We paid less than 28 bucks for the both of us, including drinks. The wifey and I will be coming back. read more

For some reason it seems like there is only one girl working all the tables but she is very attentive. We came here for a birthday lunch for my coworker. I had never been here before although I'm always in the neighborhood. Their lunch specials provide a lard amount of food for such a small price. I ordered the pad Thai. Pad Thai is always my favorite Thai dish to order. Their Pad Thai was good. We brought a birthday cake and the waitresses were nice enough to bring out a knife, plates, and utensils. I tried their Tom Ka Kai I asked for extra vegetables and even specified broccoli. When I got it home not only did it not have broccoli but had minimal carrots. Tons of mushrooms and onions though. I called back to express my displeasure and after talking to two different woman was told I could come back to get vegetables. This was not happening. Btw they charge extra for extra veggies. The Pad Thai is the same with inconsistency and lacks from being visually appealing. The yellow chicken curry is good but their cheap on the chicken and get too much potato.
