You know it's a good place when you arrive at opening time (7 am on a Sunday) and the parking is full and there are already a dozen people inside. The staff is friendly and quick, the dining area is well decorated and CLEAN, and you can smell it when the cooking begins. And the food is top-notch. I can recommend the omelets and the pancakes. And homemade dessert is appropriate even on a Sunday morning.

On a road trip and needed to stop for breakfast... We were so glad to stumble upon this little local joint in a small town. I loved the local feel and it was packed with a continuous flow of patrons. Service and pricing were excellent! Food was pretty good too. The corned beef was very lean and not at all too salty or strong. While a lot of the items seemed fresh and from scratch, others were convenience frozen items. The menu was large and I'm sure this is necessary in such a remote location to prevent food waste. I'd definitely recommend breakfast, as it tends to be made from fresh ingredients. My teenage son did enjoy his burger, fries and cheese sticks and the pricing was low for the quantity, so we can't complain. The burger patty was huge and the ingredient combinations creative. I can definitely see why the locals were all here!

Fancy they are not, clean and delicious they are!! If you are looking for good comfort food at reasonable prices this place should be on your short list. Stop in and see Nikki.

A lot of menu items have the option to add corned beef so I thought I would give it a try. I highly recommend. Food was awesome and friendly staff! Even the customers were really friendly!

Suzies Skillet is a local restaurant in Walbridge, Ohio that we go to frequently. Their homemade soups are the best. My favorites are stuffed green pepper soup and chicken tortilla soup! The Skillet is the home of the grillcleaner omelet...only for large a appetite or great to share with someone!

Our server was so terrific. All the food was delicious. I'd been craving French onion soup and decided to give it a try and it was sofa king good. Perfection! I also had a delicious turkey club paired with a kiwi smash. The space is open with high ceilings and a long bar. It started filling up shortly after we were seated so would recommend a reservation. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Toledo!

The drinks were good, but again, a hitch. Service too... So, two of us ordered the French dip sandwich. They were just OK at best. Really no flavor, the roll was kind of wrong and the jus was tasteless. I asked (several times) for some horseradish, and I would guess it's still on its way to the table... 2 folks ordered the fried walleye, and one said it was REALLY good and the other said it was really over cooked. 1 person ordered the burger and said it was great. The last person ordered the salmon and did like it. The standout sides were the brussels sprouts and the fries. Both are very, very good. No comments about the other sides. The person across the way ordered the bruleed sweet potatoes and they looked amazing. The ambiance. What a cool place inside. A cool mix of furnishings with some kitsch factor. Not in a bad way from aesthetics, but in practicality, a big miss. When we were taken to our table, we were presented with a 1950's style dinette and chairs. Again, really kitschy, but not at all fun to sit in. The place has a cool mix of all kinds of stuff, but the noise was deafening. We tried to talk to one another, but it was really hard. Just too much background noise from all the people in a concrete, brick and steel room. Too bad. The drinks... So, I took a chance and ordered my martini. I explained how I wanted it mixed, etc. and the bartender did a superb job! Hats off to him for making a great martini! The big issue was one of our guests wanted a Bloody Mary. The waitress explained that they have great Bloody Mary's as they make their own mix. After the drinks were ordered, the waitress came back to the table to let us know they were out of Bloody Mary mix. Mind you, this is 6:00 on a Saturday. That shouldn't happen. The service... All of the drinks were ordered at the same time, and they came out in a staggered fashion over a period of 15 minutes. Same thing with our dinners. Interestingly, the hold up with the entrees was the 2nd French Dip. I would guess if the guy making the sandwiches saw 2 of the same thing on the same ticket, he'd make them both at the same time. That second sandwich took at least 15 minutes to get to the table. We're all being polite and waiting for his meal to deliver so we can all eat at the same time. Cold fish, anyone? And I'd still like to know where my horseradish went. Oh, parking in the lot to the left of the building is stupid expensive. Park in the garage across the street and save $20 bucks. All in all, our check came to about $100.00 for 3 of us. That's without the tip. My meal was a solid 2 to 3-star event but factoring in the others' opinions and negating the Bloody Mary incident and service, I'll give it 4 stars. Pretty sure I'll go back, but probably not too soon.

I hadn't realized before that there is a large room to the right of the bar area. We were there for a somewhat early dinner at 6pm on a Saturday and the place was bustling! Definitely make a reservation. (I used Open Table online two or three weeks in advance and it was very easy.) We were greeted shortly after being seated and our server advised us of the special entrees after taking our drink orders. We decided to split the roasted beet salad which also came with herbed goat cheese. Our server brought the salad on two plates- already divided. The salad was absolutely amazing!! I am seriously still craving it and the portion was so large that I couldn't even finish my half. Our server promptly boxed it up before our entrees were served. For the main course, I ordered one of the specials- scallops with rice sauteed with spinach. My friend had pork roast with carrots, which was a large portion - no complaints and she took home leftovers for another meal. I'll speak to my scallops... They were perfectly prepared, but there were only three scallops and a plentiful serving of rice and spinach. I love spinach and this side was very well seasoned. It didn't take long to eat the three scallops and the spinach pieces in the rice. I definitely enjoyed my meal, but wished for even one more scallop. Since my entree was a special that was verbally announced, I didn't know the price until I saw the bill. While it was delicious, I found the $41 charge a bit steep. The Standard is exceptional in almost every way- service was impeccable, amazing food, lovely ambiance- but be prepared for a pricey evening. My friend and I had a very enjoyable time and I definitely recommend this restaurant. I will say, however, that it can be difficult to talk because it is so busy. That said, it's popular for a reason! Check out the photos below for a virtual experience.

I personally like to see it on paper so I can view ingredients but Im going with the flow. The service is a stand out here. Started with garlic bread bites. Server indicated there is a light blue cheese drizzle that they actually drizzle at the table. Neither of us are big fans of blue cheese and made sure to tell her when she started. She said its very mild n not overpowering. It was not mild n it was overpowering. I love love bread n I only ate one square. French onion soup was good per the man. I wanted the chicken special but when I said Ididn't care for peppers the server said she didn't recommend it then. Not sure why peppers couldn't be removed? but I took her advice and chose shrimp instead. Shrimp n mashed potatoes for me. Lamb chops n some type of potatoes for him. It was fine. At the price point($200 for 2) I was expecting more than fine. They did bring him a bday dessert but as she stated they don't sing happy birthday. Ok then. Stashed the leftovers in the car and went next door for beers n bday shots. More my speed. I would come back if its someone else's choice

My hotel was right down the road and since I was up early I decided to grab some food before going into town for my event. This place is located inside of a truck stop that's open to the public for just about anything. It's super clean and very modern with the decor which I loved. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner but it's really the only breakfast place around so I took advantage of that. The menu has plenty to choose from and while it's not cheap (generally $12.99 and up for anything breakfast) the food here's actually pretty darn good. I mixed it up and went with corned beef and hash with Texas toast and hash browns for my meal. My food was good and came out quickly which I loved. It was a Saturday morning and very early, so nobody else was in here. I imagine during the week it's a lot busier at this location. My server was wonderful and really took care of me.
