You know it's a good place when you arrive at opening time (7 am on a Sunday) and the parking is full and there are already a dozen people inside. The staff is friendly and quick, the dining area is well decorated and CLEAN, and you can smell it when the cooking begins. And the food is top-notch. I can recommend the omelets and the pancakes. And homemade dessert is appropriate even on a Sunday morning.

On a road trip and needed to stop for breakfast... We were so glad to stumble upon this little local joint in a small town. I loved the local feel and it was packed with a continuous flow of patrons. Service and pricing were excellent! Food was pretty good too. The corned beef was very lean and not at all too salty or strong. While a lot of the items seemed fresh and from scratch, others were convenience frozen items. The menu was large and I'm sure this is necessary in such a remote location to prevent food waste. I'd definitely recommend breakfast, as it tends to be made from fresh ingredients. My teenage son did enjoy his burger, fries and cheese sticks and the pricing was low for the quantity, so we can't complain. The burger patty was huge and the ingredient combinations creative. I can definitely see why the locals were all here!

Fancy they are not, clean and delicious they are!! If you are looking for good comfort food at reasonable prices this place should be on your short list. Stop in and see Nikki.

A lot of menu items have the option to add corned beef so I thought I would give it a try. I highly recommend. Food was awesome and friendly staff! Even the customers were really friendly!

Suzies Skillet is a local restaurant in Walbridge, Ohio that we go to frequently. Their homemade soups are the best. My favorites are stuffed green pepper soup and chicken tortilla soup! The Skillet is the home of the grillcleaner omelet...only for large a appetite or great to share with someone!

Everything I've ever ordered has been undercooked (still frozen onion rings) or overcooked (eggs, bacon always burned)

This place has come a long way. The food needs some work! A dish that is unique to this place would help.

After visit #2, I'm not sure there will be a visit #3 anytime soon. The consensus among friends -- confirmed now by our own table -- is that everything is too heavy. The first few bites bring the oohs and the ahhs. By halfway through the plate, the ughs and the oofs begin. The menu reads as thoughtful and dialed in. Our table of four ordered very different entrees -- seafood, steak, pasta, salad -- and somehow every plate arrived at the same destination: rich, savory, dense. No acid. No brightness. And strangely, blue cheese and garlic had crept into every single bite, as if the kitchen could not bear to let a dish leave without them. A meal that should have pleased everyone left most of us with a mild remorse. I felt surprisingly ill for hours afterward -- not because anything was unsafe, not because it wasn't delicious, but because it was simply too much. Too rich. Too savory. The body, it turns out, asks for contrast, and we had not been given any. The service, on the other hand, is STILL outrageously good. Without question some of the best in the region -- better than nearly every higher-end room in town. But the atmosphere is stuffy, the food is one-note, and high quality is not the same thing as good execution. My wife's "medium plus" steak arrived extremely rare. My salmon was undercooked. At this price, that is inexcusable. Still -- the service. The service is something to behold.

My hotel was right down the road and since I was up early I decided to grab some food before going into town for my event. This place is located inside of a truck stop that's open to the public for just about anything. It's super clean and very modern with the decor which I loved. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner but it's really the only breakfast place around so I took advantage of that. The menu has plenty to choose from and while it's not cheap (generally $12.99 and up for anything breakfast) the food here's actually pretty darn good. I mixed it up and went with corned beef and hash with Texas toast and hash browns for my meal. My food was good and came out quickly which I loved. It was a Saturday morning and very early, so nobody else was in here. I imagine during the week it's a lot busier at this location. My server was wonderful and really took care of me. Overall I was impressed since there isn't much going on here and it's sort of in the sticks of Ohio and on the outskirts of town. Not a bad place to eat at whether you're crashing here for the night or just need a quick meal.
