Grilled octopus No rice, no beans not even tortillas.
Jaquelyn C.

Sushi rolls we got where good and my husband got the grilled octopus, but it's way over priced. We also got old tostadas and asked the waitress for new ones and the place is so dirty. Walked to the bathroom and the whole floor was dirty so slippery we almost fell. Never again we would go back.

The way they never remove things that have already been used and the food still hasn't arrived after more than an hour.

I remember when I lived in the South County area, it was one of our favorite restaurants. The service was excellent, and I don't know what happened, maybe it's new management, because the service is terrible. The way they treat customers is very unpleasant. The service takes forever; you order something and they never bring it until you have to get up and go get it yourself. It's like they're giving you service with a sour face and a very unkind way of approaching you, as if they're doing you a favor, not the opposite. TERRIBLE SERVICE FROM THE WAITRESS

Shrimp Ceviche Tostadas. Where's the shrimp???

Had high hopes for this place. We each ordered 2 shrimp ceviche tostadas. When the food arrived, it was basically a pile of mixed veggies, and only a few pieces of chopped up shrimp that we had to search for. We asked Vania, our server, about it and her response was quite rude. She basically didn't even check out the food when we tried to show her. She didn't offer to let the manager or kitchen know. Her attitude was like it's what you ordered, yes, it is but to pay $29.98 for 2 tostadas with a ton of veggies and probably only one piece of shrimp that was chopped for 2 tostadas is robbery. To top it off, Vania was so rude, she acted like she was right, and only thought of her self. She needs to have an attitude adjustment if she wants earn better tips as a server. Tipping her $10 was a mistake, she deserves $0! We won't be back, food was disappointing and the service from Vania was even more disappointing.

Bandera De Ceviche

Delicious food! Such a fun concept. The ceviche is great. So is the sushi. Good atmosphere. Fernanda was amazing!! We will be telling all our friends about this place (-:

Grilled octopus and two specialty sushi rolls

I drove down from near the Canadian border to try their grilled octopus. Absolutely spectacular. It's surprisingly not fishy but the texture is as expected. I have to ask why they combine Mexican and Japanese, and they explained that this is a Sinaloa cuisine and the difference is that the sushi is cooked rather than raw. Regardless, it is absolutely delicious and worth the two hour drive

Tostada de aguachile verde and encamaronado sushi

The micheladas were so good! We even asked if they sold the mix which they do. They keep their dinning area clean and ready to serve. They're service was excellent our server Vania was very accommodating to us and our kids. I would definitely come back.

Best roll ever

Utterly amazing!!!! Best sushi fusion ever. Ate twice in 3 days time . Both times 5 stars!!!!

I love the idea of this restaurant and do think the food is amazing. Only thing is that it is super pricey! The drinks were not that strong either. But I love to support my local businesses so I come when I want to splurge.

Who knows? Nothing good

Service is horrible. Staff is ignorant. Food is overpriced and poorly made. Messy, dirty, and simply overwhelming.

Got there around 2130 on a Sunday night, not too busy ...until 2230 when ppl started to pour in so plan accordingly. Faith, my server, was a trouper. She pivoted when the crowds came in but ensured I was always taken care of. My food was very good, thankfully. Had only bn in town 72 hours, hadn't managed a decent meal but that's more bc of all the events surrounding graduation and family get together. My drink, clams and calamari soothed the hungry beast, even if I wasn't in awe. Ambiance was soothing, restful, a nice quiet until the crowds came arrived and then went up exponentially Faith really made my dinner very nice

We sat down to sticky booths that looked like they hadn't been dusted or cleaned in years. I didn't want to lean back and let my hair touch it. That kind of a booth. Next, we ordered coffee. The server said it comes with half and half and as she was about to walk away, I remembered my friend liked milk so I said, "oh don't you prefer whole milk." The server said they serve half and half with coffee and they don't have whole milk just 2% and if we we wanted anything else she could pour water in it. Normally this banter would be fine. This wasn't banter. She was annoyed. We stuck with the half and half. We looked at the menus that were COATED with sticky stuff all over the plastic and falling apart. It looked like a studen'ts notebook after a full year in grade school. We ordered a strawberry lemonade. Normally, my daughter will drink anything. It tasted like chemicals. Since two of us ordered two different types of benedict, the server came with sharper knives. She then WIPED THEM CLEAN with a towel hanging from her pocket. 20 min. later we got our order. Well 2 of us did. Mine was the wrong item so had to send back and they had to make me the correct one. No apologies from our server. We then had to ask for a third place setting. The server got it and when my daughter was using the benedict knife, the server took it FROM HER HANDS and gave it to our friend since she was eating french toast. The food was not good. The french toast tasted like dry bread coated in eggs. In other words, it hadn't soaked up any of the batter. My benedict's hollanaise sauce was in fact, some weird cheez-it mixture... it was orange and congealed. Let me add that it was a Monday at 9:30AM. It was NOT busy. Also word of warning, DO NOT use the restrooms. Just nopity nope nope nope.

Wait started probably around 6pm although there were still empty tables then. They provide garnishes for your water and also provide 4 salsas/accompaniments for your meal. I got the 16 oz ribeye served on hot stones. They cooked it slightly less than what you want, so for my medium rare, they cook it rare. It also comes with chimichurri and molacete(?) which has a more refreshing flavor. They season with rosemary and even light a branch on fire for more aroma. I tried a bite of my friend's filet mignon which was good, but my preferred cut is the ribeye or NY strip. We also shared the papa loca (worth it - so good) and the cauliflower (not as good, but I'm comparing it to a version made by Cuerno, a Mexican steakhouse in NY). I had a glass of the pinot noir and the garzon, and both were good, slightly tannic and 'juicy'.

The first time I got the Wagyu tacos which were sooo good and I love the variety and flavor of the sauces. I loved how simple the taco Wagyu is as the meat is high quality For my second visit I got the Vacio Wagyu which came in a sizzling hot stone plate and it stayed hot for me to cook all of my Wagyu. It didn't really need the accompanied sauce but it was nice to have. I felt the large rock salt was a little bit nub and would make it too saucey but I found the rosemary a perfect combination with the Wagyu especially as one was cooking underneath. Excellent service as well - our server was attentive and timely. I've only gone here for lunch and we did not have to make a reservation as it was not too busy!

The Gelato had a fantastic texture with clear, rich flavors. For the dessert, we picked the first option on the menu--it came in a huge portion, also styled like an ice cream dessert. It was packed with flavor and seriously satisfying! Even around 3 PM, the place was still super busy, which really shows how popular and great this spot is. My experience with this Anthony's remains 5 stars! We went last night for my sister's birthday…read moredinner. We were able to snag a same day reservation with no issues and were seated pretty quickly for our large group. Sadly they do not have AYCE crab happening right now, but one of the employees let us know that it's most likely going to be offered in November and to keep an eye out for dates. Normally I would've jumped on the Seafood Fettuccine, but I've been having so much pasta lately that I didn't want to order that. They have a special running during October Monday - Thursday nights for a $39 three course dinner with halibut being the star of the entree. I opted for the halibut & chips with chowder as my starter and the Bailey's Chocolate Mousse for dessert. The halibut & chips was tasty. The batter was light and didn't have a lingering oil taste. I've never had halibut as the fish for fish and chips, and it definitely isn't as flaky as cod but still was good and worked well with the dish. The fries were perfectly crispy! I love their tartar sauce here too - very dilly. The Bailey's mousse was decadent, rich, and a must. If you don't like dark chocolate it's probably not the dish for you, but I LOVE dark chocolate so I was in heaven. We had also started with the Shrimp & Crab Artichoke Dip along with the Calamari. Both were delicious, but my favorite was the dip for sure. Served piping hot and generous chunks of seafood throughout. Definitely a solid spot for a guaranteed delicious dinner.

Naturally, our service was attentive. But it must not be that bad if this place doesn't even get J-curved by new accounts without PFPs. My negative comments will be about the food of course because a generic chain like this sets off all my pet peeves. For example, I've always disliked the hard table bread with the spread. Same with the calamari in small crumbling pieces, which I'm pretty sure comes from their commercial distributor. The cocktail and ahi nachos were a hit, but those are hard to mess up. Clam chowder was fine. I do think they put a decent amount of alcohol in their cocktails as I could feel the buzz from the old fashioned. Or maybe that was all the red wine I drank. Lol. To me, all the fish are overcooked, bland, and a tad dry. We asked for the ahi medium rare. I wouldn't consider the one we got to be medium rare. I agree with the sentiment that you come to a place like this for the view and the "dining experience." The food is not bad, but it is very safe and lightly seasoned for your average American.

Our server explained how the ordering worked, and they had little robots bringing the food over. We ended up getting the gold option which included the sashimi and nigiri options. So if you're into raw fish, we highly recommend getting that dining option. They also had a mini salad and fruit bar, but because we came closer to closing they weren't as stocked up as I assume they would be during peak hours. Overall if you're hungry and looking for a good deal, highly recommend checking this place out. I believe they do reservations for future dates but not same day reservations.
