The inside is small but they have extra seating on the side of the restaurant, the owner is very nice but the ladies do have a slight attitude bc I tried to talk to one and she blantly ignored me. I feel like this place makes you think you're getting your money's worth because the rolls are big, but in reality they're mostly just stuffed with imitation crab.We had ordered a couple different rolls and sadly I didn't like any of them. They all had that same strong imitation crab taste that overpowered everything else. I remember coming here back in 2020 and it was actually really good, so I was excited to come back, but unfortunately I feel like they've fallen off since then.

I had food delivery. My order included shrimp tempura appetizer and sashimi combo that included miso soup and small green salad. The food was delivered on schedule and the soup and tempura were warm. The soup was tasty. The tempura was very heavily battered and crispy but we're on the skinny side despite the heavy coating. Nonetheless satisfying. The sashimi combo was plated nicely and very appealing.

We came here in the late afternoon/early evening on a weekend day. There were a few tables taken. The main part where the food is made has about 4 tables. The side part the restaurant is odd with its own entrance and although at the side of the restaurant there is no connection between them and the side part was a little more warm as well. The food overall was fine. We ordered two bento boxes. One with salmon and gyoza and the other with a California roll and tofu teriyaki. The tofu teriyaki had a very slimy texture and would have tasted better if the tofu was crispy. The texture was just weird. The California roll was standard. The salmon had no flavor with the sauce and could have been seared and spiced a little better. The gyoza was standard as well but the sauce was a little odd (thick and creamy as opposed to more of a soy sauce vinegar). The staff was kind and they had complimentary candy for folks. Food was pretty good overall and we would come back and try other things.

I was craving sushi after work and came across this spot on Yelp with some great reviews. I placed an online order for pickup, and the restaurant was easy to find with plenty of parking available right next to it. There isn't much seating inside, but I noticed they were doing a steady stream of takeout orders. I ordered a variety of nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. I'll definitely be ordering from here again. The service was also very friendly and helpful!

To go order review. The person that took my order over the phone was really pleasant and accommodating. I asked for no crabmeat for a dragon roll and he said they can do it. Most sushi places would say they aren't able to modify their rolls. The spot itself is a small restaurant but they did expand it a bit which is good to see. Sushiland has decent sushi. The Saba nigiri didn't seem as fresh compared to other places I've tried. The salmon in the salmon maki felt a bit grainy when I ate it. The salmon teriyaki and tonkatsu were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Was enjoyable overall.

The nicest family runs this sushi restaurant!!! Quick and friendly service for the biggest sushi rolls you can imagine!!! Everything is good nothing disappoints and I like all the rolls. The ingredients are fresh and the sushi is so buttery. The bento boxes are huge too and the portions of meat on the rice plates are also flavorful and generous. Highly recommend this sushi restaurant when in Hayward as it's the best bang for your buck!!!

Sashimi and California Roll

Ordered Sushiland through DoorDash and it came super quick. I tried the bento box and picked the 4 piece sashimi, California roll and the beef teriyaki. The tuna, salmon and crab were all fresh! No weird fishy flavor. The California roll was also pretty big and definitely filling. The beef teriyaki was a little fatty, but the sauce was delicious. Generous portions and fresh fish will definitely have me coming back to try more.

Unagi Donburi

I ordered the bento box with beef taiyaki, tonkatsu, and sashimi. The portion size is generous and more than enough for one adult. I really like the unagi don. The flavorful unagi and sauce pair perfectly with the rice. The staff are friendly and serve you fast. They also offer outdoor seating, which is nicely covered for comfort.

Ok it was our first time here and were pleasantly surprised. The yelp reviews did not disappoint. We came around 8:40pm and they're open til 9:30pm. There's two parts to the restaurant, we were sat in the other area away from the kitchen. Small restaurant but the food and service were really good! The lion king was delicious! I haven't had a good one like that in a while, I liked the sauce on top that they used. We also had the soft shell crab (crispy perfection" and the tempura mixed was a big serving and delicious as well. We tried the beef udon and really liked it, the meat was tender and the soup was balanced, not too salty at all it was perfect and it had plenty of vegetables. We also ordered the 49er and they gave us 9 pcs of the roll (maybe they were closing so they gave us an extra one? what a nice gesture) Our bill came to about $100 with a bento box to go. Small parking area but we had no trouble looking for parking. We really enjoyed coming here and would like to check it out again next time with family!

Red dragon roll

Sushiland has been on my list ever since I moved to the area. I finally checked it out and came right when they opened at 1 PM on a Saturday. There was only one other party inside so we were able to get a table right away. Just a heads up this place only has a few tables so it could fill up fast. On the plus side they have their own parking lot which makes things a lot easier. I ordered the half chicken udon and a spicy tuna roll. I also got the red dragon roll. The udon portion felt more like a full size to me. The broth is on the sweeter side which I didn't mind. It came with fish cakes which I'm not a fan of so I took those out. The chicken was good and seemed like it was the same teriyaki chicken they use in other dishes. The spicy tuna roll was solid but the highlight was definitely the red dragon roll. It had shrimp inside and spicy crab with spicy tuna on top. Probably one of the best rolls I've ever had. Everything just worked perfectly together. The customer service was also great. The owner is super sweet and friendly. I'm really glad this spot is close to home because I'll definitely be coming back.

My daughter introduced me to this gem. Small but packed with charm, pleasant and friendly staff and some amazing food ! My go to for any sushi place is the 49er roll ! I know it's an Americanized roll but it so good. Lemon is my favorite so this always hits the spot. I went with the 3 item bento box , chicken teriyaki, gyoza, tempura ! This bento is easily shared it also comes with salad and miso soup. A rare combo of quality and price I have now found my new sushi spot! They have a great menu with lots of options so looking forward to my next visit !

Salmon Bento Box
Renaliza M.

The food was amazingly good! Rolls were a great size, all portions, including the items on the bento box were Hefty. Fish tasted fresh. Never knew about this place and deserves to be called a gem. Definitely will be back for more! Service was ok, it got quite busy after we arrived and had to wait a while to flag down our server for a to go box and our check; but other than that, food was worth it. Seating was limited, seating available both inside and outside, but maybe I will opt for take out next time

Is there an all you can eat joint because it's popping up on yelp that it is so?

Hi, we don't have "all you can eat". Thank you for asking.

Hi, are you open for dine-in now, or is it still takeout only? Thanks

They're open for dine in. My family and I had dinner there last week. However, not many tables inside. Maybe 3-4.

Do they offer real crab in Cali rolls?

Sorry but we don't offer real crab for Cal roll and other rolls.

Did Sushiland raise its price recently after SIP?

Yes

Does this restaurant do sushi platters for takeout similar to Fat Fish Sushi?

Do you have any options for outdoor seating or separate indoor seating currently?

No. We only have takeout orders available.

Are you open during this shelter-in-place for pickup/curbside? I tried calling no answer.

Hi, Mike. Thank you for your inquiry. We are open as normal but only takeout is available. Please refer to our business hours. Also you can make pick up order by phone, or you can also order through Doordash. Thank you for your support and wish you…

Are you open for takeout? I called on 4/3/2020 at 6:50pm but it went to voicemail. I hope you are…

I just got take out today 5/5

Is this place all you can eat?

No.

Can you pay with card?

Yes.

We saw several parties arrive and be told that the wait would be an hour or so (those that walked in without reservations). Don't expect a fancy dining room, but do expect an intimate and tight setting since there are only maybe 6+ tables? Because of this, they would like guests to have a one hour dining experience. Not strictly enforced but you can tell there's a line of people on the waiting list. One thing I really appreciate is that the staff actually remembers my preferences every time I come in. That kind of personal service makes such a difference and really keeps me coming back. The 16-Piece Sashimi is definitely my favorite. The fish is always super fresh, and the portions are surprisingly generous. With how expensive everything has gotten in the Bay Area, I really appreciate finding a place where you still feel like you're getting good quality and a good amount of food for what you're paying. That's honestly one of the biggest reasons I've stayed loyal to this restaurant. My second favorite is the Oh Fish Roll. The combination of fresh fish and those crispy tempura bits is SO good. You get the freshness of the fish along with that crunchy texture, and somehow it all just works perfectly together. I've been to plenty of sushi restaurants, but this is one of those places where I genuinely look forward to coming back. The food is consistently good, the portions are generous, and the staff makes you feel remembered rather than just being another customer. Definitely one of my go-to spots in the Bay Area. If you haven't tried it yet, I'd absolutely recommend giving it a shot -- especially the 16-piece sashimi and the Oh Fish Roll. I'll definitely be back!

We thought, "Surely they'll have great AC!" Welp... they don't. And yet, somehow, we still couldn't stop ourselves from ordering their ramen. Because apparently, hot weather + hot ramen = still worth it! We've tried quite a few things so far, although I definitely forgot to take pictures of a lot of them. ‍ What we've tried: Agedashi Tofu - Yummmmm! Crispy, flavorful, and definitely something I'd order again. Tonkotsu Ramen with Pork Flavor Broth & Black Garlic Pork Flavor - Yum and satisfying, even on a blazing hot day with no AC! The broth was flavorful and comforting, and apparently the heat outside wasn't enough to stop us. Tonkatsu Ramen with Pork Broth - The ramen and broth were delicious, just like the one above. The side tonkatsu, however, was a different story. The exterior crunch was spot-on, but I really wished the inside wasn't dry like cardboard. Poke - We tried salmon & hokkigai, salmon & tuna, and salmon & shrimp combo... you design it however your heart desires! My favorite combination was definitely the salmon & shrimp. You really can't go wrong with this one! Hanami Super Combo F - At first glance, the presentation wasn't bad. Unfortunately, this one was a miss for me. The croquettes weren't exterior-crispy like the tonkatsu. They were a little soggy, lacked that satisfying crunch, and felt greasy. The unagi roll was another disappointment. Sadly, I found the rice to be the most edible part. The unagi wasn't soft, moist, or fresh-tasting. The tempura shrimp had a similar issue to the croquettes. The batter needs some improvement - it wasn't light and crispy but rather overly thick and bland. Even the miso soup wasn't quite my thing. It had a slight sweetness to it, almost as if sugar had been added. At that point, I would've opted for a pop instead! Beef Teriyaki Teishoku - Presentation-wise, it was nicely put together, but it didn't quite satisfy the palate. The most enjoyable parts for me were the beef and the rice ball. And honestly, I would've happily taken an extra one or two! The potato & seaweed salad and tamago were decent. The gyoza wasn't really my thing, and neither was the crab salad. Overall: Would I come back? Yes, on a cooler day if we are in the neighborhood For me, the agedashi tofu, ramen, and poke are the standouts, and the service has been great every time we've visited. My only recommendation? Maybe don't come on one of those scorching hot days if you're planning to enjoy a bowl of ramen. Unless, of course, you're like us and simply can't resist!

The appetizer was seaweed in a type of jelly with a blueberry on top. Not my favorite dish and I don't think the flavors worked well together. Otherwise, all the dishes tasted fresh and delicious and the fish was so buttery smooth. I will say I didn't walk away from this meal stuffed and I could've eaten more. I don't think the sake pairing was worth it and I would not repurchase that. I would however do the omakase tasting again. I think it's a great deal for someone who wants to dip their toes into the omakase world for a more reasonable price. The bathroom at this establishment is a one person gender neutral bathroom. The bathroom needs some attention. They have a fancy bidet style toilet that has all the buttons broken and you have to use the manual handle. It appears it's been broken for some time. The bathroom did not feel very clean. There was also tapestry curtains you had to walk to through to go to the bathroom which were stained and needed a good wash or to be replaced. TLDR: The omakase is delicious, good for first timers at a more affordable cost. The place itself needs some cleaning and attention. I would recommend this place.
