Great sushi no artificial crab but the real one. Nice cozy atmosphere. Prices affordable must try crape cake for dessert.

Always good service. And quick. Love the miso soup and Bento Box B. There are some interesting saki cocktails to try as well.

We ordered a platter of some sort to go. It was teriyaki chicken, rice and tempura and sushi. It was good... all of it. Hot, hot, hot.... hungry and trying to eat too fast... burn, burn, burn... The facility was nice, clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I'm not sure how this has high ratings on Yelp and Google but this isn't a 5 star restaurant. As an Asian reviewer, this place was very mid. The decor and ambience were all fine. I did see that they have outdoor dining. We ordered a dragon roll, dan dan noodles, and tonkotsu ramen noodle. I'm not going to go through every dish like I usually do. They're all pretty much 2.5-3 out of 5. The broth in the ramen was bland and tasteless. Noodles were chewy. The dan dan noodles were also bland. The versions I had at other places are well seasoned. Dragon roll was just okay. Service was fine. I had a better experience at Shang Noodle down the street.

I have been in here a a few times and I love it so much. I love the layout of the space and it feels intimate. The fish in the tank are also a lot of fun and they talk to each other. The Gyoza is perfectly crunchy and I usually start with it and have An Ichiban Beer or a Cold Sake called Karatamba. Service is very friendly

Food is delicious. Can't go wrong with anything you order. Been here twice but have done carry out a few times. Staff is friendly and it gets very busy. It's not very loud and the seating is limited. Hard for large parties. We made reservations and was able to get a table on Friday.

I always enjoy the atmosphere here. The food is also good. The service is great the staff is always attentive and helpful. Although I forgot to take many pics I had these tempura jalepeno toppers, this was my first time eating this but I loved that it was crunchy and delicious. Shanghai dumpling which are always yummy in addition to the gyoza. The rolls this trip wasn't my favorite Osanka mostly because I was expecting something different which was the entire roll to be tempur fried. But literally everything that I've ever eaten here is delicious even the drinks (wine or sake is ideally my go to)

We were in town from Indy for the weekend and had time for just one nice sit-down meal--I'm so glad we chose this place. The service alone was top tier, and the food was absolutely mind-blowing. The crab Rangoon was probably the best we've ever had, and every piece of sushi was packed with flavor. The spicy Mexican roll was a standout favorite. I only wish we lived closer so we could come back more often!

I love love love this place. The sushi is out of this world! If you're like me and you will drive for good food-- you definitely want to check out Sushi Ukai in LaGrange. It's not just the food that makes this place amazing, it's the impeccable and over the top service. The ambiance is super relaxed vibes and perfect for a date or a family night! First of all, let's talk about the food! If you like fresh, delectable sushi-- this place will soon become you're favorite jam. When I want good sushi, I'm definitely coming here. I love sushi and I'm always on the hunt for the good stuff. My favorite rolls to get almost every time I come are the Godzilla, Sexy Mexican, Mango Tataki (I think that's the name -- it's the first one on the Chef's Specials menu), Chicago Fire and Sweetheart. You can try anything and you won't be disappointed. The chefs do an amazing job and can sub out or omit anything at your request. They are very accommodating. The service-- I love Anna and Lin!!! I appreciate everyone who works there. They are all super friendly and always in a great mood. We regularly visit Sushi Ukai so the wait staff knows us and always jokes around. I always get a family feel and welcome vibes when I come here and I hope you do too. I never have to flag down someone for more water or hot tea, or even for the check. It's already done before I can even say anything. The girls are always checking on us. The ambiance is a dimly ish lit restaurant. Don't worry it's not that dark! Haha there's enough light for your to see your food and whoever you went with but it's warm and cozy. The front room is a fun experience too! You take your shoes off and sit Japanese style -- it's a super cute authentic feel. If you're not already saving Sushi Ukai in LaGrange to your "want to visit" places are you even getting ready to have the best sushi restaurant experience of your life?! Okay I might be biased, but like I said -- I love this place! Go. Visit. Now. Then let me know how your experience goes!

Nice welcoming inside with a front bar area and high top tables and back area with low tables in the dining area. Reasonable food prices and options from starters to entrees. Wine by the bottle with some single glass options. Beer draft beers and cocktails. Service is excellent, good was good, dessert was good, and wait time for my food was okay as they were a little busy. I noticed first that my table was not set like every other table. It was missing the candle and salt n pepper shakers. I assumed they just finished cleaning it. Drink: beer... Nice and cold and crisp. Wonderful temp! My server brought bread rolls without butter. Soup: I ordered French onion soup. It has a good flavor well balanced and not salty. I wanted to try the artichoke dip but it would have been an abundance of food. Entree: I also ordered ribeye steak with peppercorn topping cooked medium plus. The inside was beautiful. The outside mostly cooked to perfection a little extra crusted but that was on the bone area. The garlic green beans were excellent the only con was success they were fresh green beans they didn't snip the stems on the end. But for a premium price, I expect premium product, and this place is rough around the edges in ways that feel easy to fix. I'm pointing them out in hopes they'll be corrected. First the positive - the food was pretty good. Not great for the price, but pretty good. Drip coffee was better than most diners/cafes in the area. The ambience was pleasant. Here's the issues. 1. The furniture needs a refresh and I don't think the place has even been open that long. The side tables by the window are losing their finish - a fragment of wood got caught under my finger nail as I was sitting down and just lightly grazed the table with my hand. I also brushed away a few additional flakes coming up. The chiffon curtains are charming until you look closer and see they're speckled with food from past diners. A moss ball decoration in the bathroom is missing half its moss. It's little stuff, obviously, but when I spot things like this at a place otherwise charging a premium partially for cute aesthetics, I always get concerned that the lack of attention to detail might also be getting reflected in the food. 2. Value for money and food quality are also an issue. $20 for one slice of sourdough cut in half, a rather overdone French omelette with sour cream on top (not mentioned on the menu and a weird choice) a bowl of fruit I wasn't interested in rather than a choice of free side, and sausages I paid extra for, is not good value to me. The bread was good! The omelette was mediocre. The sausage was very solid, had a slight funk to it that I liked and suggested to me it was made in house - but 7 dollars for two sausage patties is absolutely wild. I would suggest Milkstop rethink the combos on its menu to include more and be priced a touch more transparently. 3. Finally, service. Everyone was VERY KIND, again, want to stress that, but service was slow and rather inattentive for most of the meal. The place was only half full, but water and an initial drink order were slow, and I waited for a while for the check while the staff chatted amongst themselves in the corner of the room. Not trying to be a dick, the life of a service worker is tough, but the place was mostly empty and I noticed they already charge a 3% service gratuity on your orders, so I'd expect a little better. Basically this place has a very charming surface with some wonkiness around the edges. I will definitely come back again but guys, come on - ditch the gross chiffon curtains, for both our sakes.
