Lad Nar beef
Victoria V.

I've been a regular at Yau's since I was little and my parents would take me to the owner's original restaurant in the city. So glad they are in the suburbs now. Great place for Thai/Chinese! Family owned for more than 40 years. You can taste their love through food and they are just the nicest couple. Service was inviting when the dining room was open. Since the pandemic, they are now only take out. But don't let that discourage you from ordering! Some favorites from Yau's is the fried smelt, that's lightly fried and has a delicious house sauce. The chicken satay and crab rangoon are always a must. Though, I think the crab rangoon is one of the best in the area. It's seasoned right, and not overly sweet or just a glob of flavorless cream cheese in the middle. The pad woon sen (glass noodle salad) is made of bean thread noodles, fresh red onion, cilantro, and tender ground pork. The house dressing is spicy and sour and great to eat as a lettuce wrap. The Thai friend rice with tender shrimp is epic! Don't get this confused with Chinese fried rice either. The Thai fried rice is seasoned differently and the rice is white compared to rice with soy sauce. It. Is. So. Good. My FAVORITE is the Lad Na beef. The beef is extra tender, the gravy is so flavorful and not salty, the wide rice noodles are crispy and tender, and the Chinese broccoli is steamed perfectly. Made authentically just like when I'm in Thailand. I see a lot of other Thai restaurants adding all kinds of veggies like carrots, mushrooms, and baby corn as a filler to bulk up and skimp out on the noodles and protein.

Wonderful place. They are only are to go right now. We got the chicken fried rice, the Mongolian beef, and the orange chicken, it was awesome. The egg rolls were really good too huge hunk of a whole fresh shrimp in the egg roll.

If you haven't been here you need to stop by and support this awesome local spot. It's not hot or trendy but it's super cute and old school! I've been here twice and the service is great. This is one of the few spots near La Grange whose pad thai I enjoy! BTW the portions are huge so you will definitely get full.

Pad Thai with shrimp

Very good pad Thai as far as flavor goes, although the Shrimp are dry. Portion was good as well. Good service but needs cleaning and decluttering. Could be a cute place if they organized a bit.

Lunch Appetizer - Chicken Potsticker and Chicken and Rice Soup. (Included as part of the lunch special for $6.50)

This is a quaint restaurant nestled in the heart of downtown Lagrange. The lunch special included a chicken potsticker (only one, but it was perfectly done and left me wanting more), chicken and rice soup and Tofu Pad Thai (deliciously seasoned and well presented; sizeable too). Chicken and Beef are the same cost, although Shrimp costs $1.50 extra. The only detracting things from an excellent review is that the space between tables is a little cramped (making me self-conscious of others overhearing our conversations, and vice versa), and the fortune cookie that I had seemed a little stale (but that may have just been one in the bunch).

Came across Golden Wok by pure accident. Just wanted some Chinese food and this was close by. The…read moreplace was nice, calm and it was pretty empty for an evening. Staff was friendly and not hovering, which I liked. They let me enjoy my food and only checked in when I needed something. I ordered the Beef lo mein. And yeah, beef lo mein is one of those dishes that usually tastes the same everywhere. The beef has that familiar Chinese beef flavor that i'm used to, tender, juicy, a little smoky, and piping hot. No toughness, no weird chew. Seasoning was on point. Portions overall were solid. The only thing I always forget until I'm halfway through is there's just not enough beef. I keep wishing for a few more pieces. Glad I found this place. It's right on my way home, which is super convenient. I'll definitely be back.

My tea cup had a small hair stuck to the side. Seats were not clean. The service was missing. Waited a long time for everything. Golden Wok has been our go for a very long time to but I think it's time to move on.

A craving for Asian food led me to ordering from New China Wok online. At the time, the restaurant…read morewas one of 8 listed as I searched for Asian food nearest to me in Broadview via Uber Eats. And its 4.7 star rating out of 1000+ was the assurance I needed that I would have a quality experience. Looking through the menu, I took interest in items like the fillet delight, green pepper fish, shrimp with broccoli, shrimp with lobster, shrimp with mixed vegetables, vegetable chop suey, and crab rangoon. Out of all that caught my eye, I ended up ordering their shrimp with broccoli. Whether it be Grubhub or Uber Eats, I love ordering online because it is convenient. Most of the time my orders are completed upon my arrival or near complete. By the time I arrived at New China Wok my order was waiting behind the counter during this ordering experience. Picking up was just confirming my name, phone number and order, and I was well on my way. Grateful to have had a smooth online ordering experience because the likelihood of me ordering online again at the location is very high. During this brief visit, I could not help but take notice of the atmosphere of New China Wok, which presented itself as a welcoming atmosphere to dine-in. As for my order, the shrimp with broccoli came separately along with a box of steamed rice! Immersed in broth was the shrimp with broccoli, I could not help but think to myself how good it looked along with its smell. After my first bite of the rice dipped in broth with either the shrimp or broccoli, I swear my taste buds salivated for more. I highly recommend the shrimp with broccoli if you are looking for a pescatarian option that will surely leave you satisfied. In closing, I had a great experience as I have indicated in this review of New China Wok. And as it was introduced to me via Uber Eats, I share my endorsement of it as well with you all on yelp. Service: 5 | Atmosphere: 5 | Food: 5 ~ Live in gratitude ~ Thomas G
