This is a regular place for us. Everything is good. It's just take out. No seating area. It's good if you're in the area.

Good food and quick. Don't like the small egg rolls or the egg too young but truly my only complaints.

They have great sweet and sour chicken. They have great lunch and dinner options that include fried rice, an egg roll and the main dish.

This place always has great food. Their Bourbon Chicken lunch special is hands down one of the best I've ever had.

This place is the worse for hygiene. NO ONE in there is wearing a mask while preparing or handling your food. And this is going on daily .

But I just don't go traversing into Chinese restaurants with no prior vouching or endorsement from someone I know. Or at least I usually don't.... So I headed to NCW one Saturday and had a large shrimp fried rice and two shrimp eggrolls. The rice was just this side of being totally bland. Which is surprising given that they had sprouts, pods, scallions and a few of the other ingredients I find in the rice I like. But it had only the slightest hint of flavor. The shrimp were tiny and pink which suggested they were either boiled beforehand and added in or just weren't cooked long enough. I would guess the latter, especially since I had a few sections of rice that had were still white due to not being mixed with the soy sauce and fried long enough. Adding soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce helps, but good rice should stand on its on. This rice did not. As for the eggrolls? Meh. I don't know this to be the case, but the eggrolls felt like something a restaurant would order from a large supplier, and then fry them to order. I could be wrong, but I said that because in addition to the eggrolls being extremely bland, they had absolutely nothing colorful or distinctly flavorful within. It was fried perfectly, but had absolutely no punch or flavor, save for adding some sweet and sour sauce. All in All the food was underwhelming but passable. It didn't taste bad, the problem is it barely had any taste at all. The question is: would i order it again? Me thinks not. If I were in a remote town and this was like one of the two Chinese options then maybe. Problem is this is Chicago and you can't go more than a few miles or stoplights without passing a Chinese restaurant. A delicious one at that.

Service was nice and very informative, explaining the differences between hunan, schazwaun, and kung pao. Maybe everyone knows this but in my 45 years on the planet it was head slapping news! The wait staff was a little stressed as I'm sure this a family owned place trying to eke out a profit by keeping staff in the family. Frankly it adds to the charm! Alcohol is available and reasonable, also not pushed, just a note. Neighborhood regulars were afoot and happy to interact, not for everyone but to me nothing is better! If you want a fun unpretentious Chinese food place in the corner of the burbs I put this one amongst any.

Staff was friendly and not hovering, which I liked. They let me enjoy my food and only checked in when I needed something. I ordered the Beef lo mein. And yeah, beef lo mein is one of those dishes that usually tastes the same everywhere. The beef has that familiar Chinese beef flavor that i'm used to, tender, juicy, a little smoky, and piping hot. No toughness, no weird chew. Seasoning was on point. Portions overall were solid. The only thing I always forget until I'm halfway through is there's just not enough beef. I keep wishing for a few more pieces. Glad I found this place. It's right on my way home, which is super convenient. I'll definitely be back.

My bestie has been here a few times, so I went with the Ramen should recommended I should get. Forbidden Noodles definitely exceeded the expectations I didn't have. Food: I ordered a pork tonkotsu with miso instead of the tonkotsu ($14.99). Since I was treating myself that day, I also decided to try their cream cheese rangoon with their spicy mayo ($3.99 for 3 pieces) and it was absolutely delicious! Honestly a great combo! Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere. I went on a really hot day, so it felt nice walking into the cold. The place had low lighting which gave it a warm and cozy aesthetic. Perfect place for a date or catch up lunch/dinner. Customer Service: I thought the customer service was great. The cashier that took my order was really nice. She even brought out cups of water for me & my bestie even though neither of us asked for any. Parking: There's a parking lot, parking garage, & street parking which is all FREE. Street parking is hit or miss, so I totally recommend parking at the parking lot or parking garage. Overall Experience: Overall, I had a good experience at Forbidden Noodles. I would highly recommend this place if you're craving some Ramen but want to skip the trip going to Chinatown (although Chinatown does have a good chunk of Ramen spots). You can even watch a movie before or after grubbing at Forbidden Noodles at the nearby Classic Cinemas La Grange Theatre. I hope this review helps Forbidden Noodles & its current and future customers. Have an amazing day!
