China Gold is a small restaurant that has been in the neighborhood for years. I've had several items from their menu and haven't been disappointed with any of them. My favorite item is the Mongolian Fried Rice. I love fried rice and this has shrimp, chicken, beef and vegetables and it is spicy. I usually get a small which is enough for at least 2 servings. Ok I just had to try this spot more out of curiosity than anything else. I have family that live in Broadview and they swear to the Gods this place has the BEST shrimp fried rice in Illinois. Now I'm thinking ok those are some big shoes to fill, but I ain't gonna lie they shrimp fried rice is da bomb!! I mean I don't know what it is but it's for sure some of the best I have ever had and check this out, they don't even put egg in theirs and it's still good! One star reduction is because they charge an extra .50 to use your credit card which I think is petty to make the customer pay for your credit card machine fee. I will be back. read more

I've been here twice for shrimp fried rice only. BOMB BOMB BOMB!!! I recently haven't been able to find any good shrimp fried rice *SAD FACE*. These new Chinese restaurants suck! So my friend owns the restaurant across from this place and eats here religious so since I was in this area I ordered some. I walked in to order and the lady was nice and the place was clean . We have been getting food from here for about a year now. This is the best Chinese around. Our friends request it every time they visit us. The food is consistently good. I love the shrimp fried rice. They are very generous with the shrimp. The egg foo young and sesame chicken are good too. This isn't an eat in restaurant- just take out. Had the #1 the other day, shrimp egg Foo young with rice and eggroll and drink for lunch. Food was good and tasty much better than some other Chinese food I've had that I tried before a few times and was burnt rice!?! This place been going for a bit and has been consistent which is why I decided to make a review now didn't want to do one after the first try. I am amazed anyone has given this place good ratings. First off I couldn't believe how dirty it was when I walked in. I had been at the hospital for 2 days straight and was starved. I figured it couldn't be any worse than the cafeteria food. I was wrong! I ordered Pepper Steak and it was soy soup with vegetables & rice, I do mean soup. I had to fish around to find the vegetables and of course the rice was black. They used regular Styrofoam take out containers so there was soy sauce everywhere in the to go bag. The crab rangoons were made with large wonton wrappers and there was maybe a tsp of filling in them. As another reviewer stated they were cooked in old oil and tasted terrible. The egg rolls were pretty good. I would not recommend this to anyone. I'm actually surprised they pass health inspections. read more

Stay away from this place. The food is cooked in old oil and taste gross. I ordered orange chicken, hot and sour soup, and crab rangoon. The orange chicken had no taste and the fried rice was disgusting. If you like soup don't get it from here, it was so thick it actually slid out of the container I was able to add chicken stock to thin it out to try to salvage my order. Point being after waiting an hour for my food I took a bite of each and walked out to my garbage and in it all went. This place should be closed. How they are allowed to serve food I don't know. The only reason I will not give this place more stars is because it took 1 1/2 hours to get my food; however, there is a lot of snow on the ground so I will cut them some slack. This was my very first order from Grub Hub and i was nervous at first but after some friends told be about their good experiences with the app i gave it a try. I ordered beef fried rice and a strawberry smoothie and I must say it was pretty good and I am happy they came out in the snow; i just wish it didn't take so long.
