This is one of those places you drive past a hundred times before finally stopping--and Cida Thai is a true gem. It may sit in a strip mall storefront, but don't let that fool you. The family‑run warmth is immediate, from the friendly service to handwritten signs highlighting the chef's specials. Dining as a pair, we started with the Cida Sampler, which includes two of each of their most popular appetizers--perfect for sharing and getting a taste of everything. My husband ordered the Broccoli Beef: tender slices of beef in a rich, savory gravy with perfectly steamed broccoli. Brown rice was available for a small upcharge, which he happily opted for. I chose the Roast Duck Red Curry, and one standout feature here is the ability to customize spice levels. I went super mild and still got deep, satisfying flavor without any heat overload. We ended on a high note with dessert: a silky, nutty Thai custard and a slice of green tea cheesecake--both excellent and well worth saving room for. Highly recommended if you're looking for flavorful, thoughtfully prepared Thai food in an unassuming setting. read more

Great food! My friend had orange chicken and I had Rama chicken. We shared crab Rangoon and chicken satay. All of the dishes were delicious! The service was spot on. Our water glasses were always filled! This is a cute store front restaurant. I'll be back! read more

My rare 5 star review. Let's choose between Mexican food or Thai! My immediate thought is Thai, largely thanks to a fantastic experience at CIDA many years ago. This time, my partner and I were craving a Thai beer ( but i ended up with a Japanese Sapporo), and CIDA was the perfect spot. We started with the beef salad, which was, in our opinion, the best we've ever had. The bright citrus drizzle complemented the tender strips of beef beautifully, creating a universally enjoyable dish. For my main, I ordered the Pad Kee Mao. This dish featured Kao Soi noodles simmered with curry paste, onion, and pea-carrot, served over egg noodles and topped with incredibly tasty crispy noodles that I couldn't stop eating. The thick curry paste was amazing, and I'll definitely be back for it. The authentic taste of Thailand is truly here at CIDA; it's been a few years since my last visit, but the quality hasn't changed. I even asked our waiter for his favorite dish, and he enthusiastically recommended the Pad Kee Mao, saying it's what he eats every time he returns home to Thailand. That's the secret, always ask the waiters for their recommendations! It was pure perfection, and I had a blast eating here! And the ambiance is typical Thai look. With bright colors and wall hanging depicting Thai experience. You gotta love the simplicity of the restaurant to take you on a journey! read more

Got a few dishes from here during my visit to Chicago. The spring rolls were delicious. I also had the Panang Curry and it was a bit watery. Definitely could've used more flavor. My husband got the Grilled Beef Salad and it was delicious, but a little overdressed. read more

Good place to get Thai food in Countryside. It's a small restaurant, but it packs in a lot of charm and of course food. Cida Thai has a menu of favorites along with many obscure items that are more authentic. Has no alcohol, which is the only bad thing about it. There's lots to get for vegetarians, including tofu as the choice of protein. Came at lunch and it was pretty quiet on the inside. It could have been a bad sign. This seems to be a place where most people get takeout. It would explain the lack of customers inside. Of course there's a few tables for those eating here though. It's about $12 for an entree. They also have the lunch specials on weekdays. I got the Pad Kee Mao. Pretty good stuff. This is stir fried flat wide rice noodles with bamboo shoots, basil leaves, bean sprouts, bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, and tomatoes. Choose the protein. I got tofu. Also choose how much is the spice level. The medium is plenty for many, but get the hot if wanting to be a bad ass mofo. For a pretty crappy looking place, it's actually good. It's more about the food than the setting. This is a reason why most people get takeout. read more

Fantastic Service, Food and Atmosphere! Portions are greatly sized and priced right! I loved the service, layout and food. This was definitely some of the best Thai food that I ever had! Every dish had a story. The server Tasanee was very nice, kind and fun to talk with! She even helped me scoop my heaping pile of leftovers into the takeout container. Above and beyond service. I will definitely be back for sure! read more

I was washing some blankets next door and I decided I should get breakfast and I came in late before closing. I haven't had Thai in two years because I'm picky and they are in the city 1. Really friendly staff. 2. Clean space. 3. Atmosphere is inviting. 4. Smelled really good. 5. Took one bite than I couldn't stop eating soooo good. 6. I hope they have Thai iced tea and coffee because this is my new spot! read more

We ordered 3 dinners for take out from Cida tonight. Shrimp Cida fried rice, Tofu Pad Thai and Chicken Lard Nar. Each of the three dinners was marked correctly on the lid. We tasted each one and they were all odd. The dishes did not taste like anything like we had previously eaten, and loved, in our other Thai experiences. The Pad Thai was red in color, had an odd taste and was without the usual peanuts and eggs . The Lard Nar was bland, watery, and the wide noodles were limp. The Cida fried rice was moist and bland. However, the protein in each dish was ample. This was our second time at Cida with the new owners. We do not recommend Cida and will not be back. read more

Serve was great! Staff was incredible kind and charismatic. Food was of large portions. Overall environment was clean, and quaint.

Cida is just an excellent, small, non-chain place. It's a cozy little spot with good food. The prices are average and the selection is solid. We started with the sampler trade for the table. Each item was a bite size piece, not greasy, and was flavorful. I had the Lad Nar Chicken and really enjoyed it. I would get it again. All other meals were enjoyed and included the Glass Noodles, Pad Thai, and Hot Pepper Beef. Overall a can't miss place to eat in. read more

Food was actually decent. They are under staffed, our waitress seemed annoyed at us. When we walked up to the register SHE TOOK THE LIBERTY OF ADDING THE 20% GRATUITY. Without an explanation nor gratitude. (Yes, we were a group of 8 so I didn't say anything.) Our waitress didn't come by to check on our table during our meal. Tacky read more

In Countryside for the weekend. Looking for Thai food and Cida was Just minutes away. Food was ready quickly and very good. Wife was happy they were light on the sodium. Place is always on point! Fresh veggies with dishes, most places are cheap and skip on the premiums, not this place!

Pad thai was not good I have never had pad thai taste this way. My girlfriend liked her meal.

We have been going to Cida Thai for years. Good food, pleasant service, that is till today. Went in to pick up a take out order. Of course they turn the credit card machine around for you to add a tip. When i did not tip, (I don't tip for carry out) the employee copped an attitude and just grabbed my order and tossed it on the counter. read more

I ordered takeout, green curry chicken. It was delicious. The medium hot was on the high side for heat, but the curry was flavorful and worth the 40-minute wait (yikes). When I arrived to pick up my food, I sort of wished I had stayed and just eaten there. The restaurant has a nice ambience, and a warm, inviting feel. I'd suggest dining in and getting some of their tea (made with half and half) to accompany your meal. Their staff was fast and professional. read more

I didn't realize I hadn't reviewed Cida Thai yet. It's my favorite Thai restaurant. I must have gotten takeout from here 20 times or more. I've moved to the east coast, but make sure to get Cida Thai every time I visit IL. I normally get sweet & sour tofu, vegetable egg rolls, and tom yum soup. It's been delicious every time I've gotten it. The tom yum is perfectly flavored. I have a friend who is a very picky eater and a couple times he has ordered here and asked for special food accommodations (like plain pad thai with no veggies or meat), and his food has been perfectly made to order. Staff is very nice. read more

It's hard to find good Thai food but Cida makes the search a bit easier. The food is good and fresh. My favorites include the Pad Thai, Lard Nar, Pad Si Ew and Curry dishes. I also really like the spring rolls and cucumber salad as appetizers. Service is relatively quick but they haven't offered indoor dining since the start of the pandemic. Pricing is also reasonable and portions are just right. read more

Crab Rangoon is delicious - very good flavor not just bland crème cheese! I also had pad woon sen with chicken and tofu. Delicious! The tofu was also flavorful by itself. My daughter-in-law had the islander fried and the seafood they put in there was well worth the price and fresh. I highly recommend this Thai restaurant! It's one of the best Thai food I have tried. I have been a Coustomer here for very long time. I use like the food. Like this place because it looks like a family run place and is providing more authentic food. Don't like the stingy nature of the people Who work here, who charges extra for chili sauce, seriously extra for chili sauce. Totally disappointed with their behavior. Won't be coming back here again. read more

Wow!!!! Just wow! As a person with a bad past history with Thai food, I am now a devoted customer for Cida Thai. The secret is the owner: she is not only a skillful chef but and amazing artist and a good friend! Kay has made me love Thai food through her recipes full with love and care. My heart gets warm with these flavorful dishes. I am allergic to sea food so Kay has to be extra creative with me and I always get surprised of her cooking! Try any of their curry, you won't regret it! Don't be shy with the spice! This is a reasonably new place so please go and support women owned business!!! The food is worth it, trust me! read more

Good food , good service, but small portions . All 3 of us were hungry after our meal .

My sons new favorite restaurant and probably the best Thai in the western burbs. It's a little hole in the wall type place but really good food at a decent price. It's BYOB with a huge liquor store next door. We have killed our first bottle of wine and stopped over there for a second bottle. Plenty of parking in front and in back. We had visited a few times without our peanut allergic daughter. I've been nervous to bring her given all the peanuts in Thai food. Our son really wanted to come here for his birthday so I talked to the man behind the counter to see if they could handle a peanut allergy. He was very nice and knowledgeable, he said his friend has a peanut allergy and just to let the server know. We came back with our daughter and everything was good. read more

More like 3.5 stars. This is the best Thai food in the area. Unfortunately, like every other cuisine, the Thai food around here is average at best. Good crab rangoon and fish cakes. Average for everything else- including noodles, stir-fries, salads, and curries. I have not had the soups. Decent service (occasionally slow). If you want to eat around here in general, keep going 10-15 minutes and stop in Westmont, Oak Park, Cicero, Bridgeview, or Naperville. I can't think of a single restaurant I would recommend in Western Springs, LaGrange, Countryside, Brookfield, Willowbrook, etc. read more
