Well so far I finally got a chance to try this Thai restaurant close to Midway airport. They are closed Monday through me Wednesdays all day and they're only open Thursdays through Sundays. So far the Thai iced tea was good they have at lunch time hours the $9.99 entrees but the portions are smaller which is why I asked but I was really craving for a Thai food and I didn't mind spending $4 more although the soup which is a cup I ordered of Tom kha and chicken is a little more at $8 or $12 a bowl. I ordered the cup because I ordered a regular size red curry in beef. Ambience is a bit small with music in the background and more modern although parking can be very difficult. Service seems to be very friendly the owner is Hispanic Latin but his wife is Thai. I felt like in a small bar because they're playing 1980s music of camouflage and depache mode. It was busy for lunch time too on a Thursday. The tom kha chicken soup was good I wish they would put lemongrass but certain Thai restaurants have variations whether they put the lemongrass or not. Lemon Grass root is hard to chew so I'm assuming they wouldn't. The red curry and beef was also delicious too they put the bamboo shoots. I would come back for the lunch special next time but wanted to splurge since I haven't had thai cuisine in a while. Parking can be very difficult though cuz it's at a plaza but very small space. I am a little sad there wasn't any green papaya salad offered at this restaurant! We got the Thai stir fry steak and added extra veggies. Good flavor, but nothing that I would have to have in the future. Loved the Chicago spring rolls with the dipping sauce! The mango sticky rice was pretty dang sweet but the mango was ripe to perfection. I enjoyed it, but it was too much for my friend. I had it delivered so not much to say about the ambiance but the delivery service from the restaurant was SO FAST! I didnt even know it was at my doorstep. I recently ordered takeout from Bree Thai while staying at a close by hotel to fly out of Midway the next morning. I'm glad to have found this as the food was really good! I tried the Crab Rangoon, Wonton Soup, and Larb Salad. The Crab Rangoon was good. While each piece could have used more filling, the filling was delicious and tasted of real crab. If it was indeed real crab, I can understand the carefully metered filling within each Rangoon. They were nicely fried and even after being packed and driven back to my hotel, they were still crisp and crunchy. The Wonton Soup was a warm delight in the cold (to me) Chicago weather. The broth was so warm, hearty, and flavorful. It really warmed me up while tasting exquisitely. The dumplings within the soup were generously filled with a great seasoned meat and veggie mix. I would order this every time. The larb gai (chicken) salad was ok. The chicken was bit on the dry side (even though it was in a highly flavored sauce. The chicken, red onions, carrots, and scallions, plus the sauce tasted great all together and was spiced perfectly. It was not too spicy but gave off the perfect amount of heat. We stopped by Bree Thai while visiting from San Diego, and it was exactly what we needed. warm, comforting, and absolutely delicious! We ordered the Pad See Yew and Yellow Curry with chicken, and both dishes were bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The service was amazing, and the food came out in perfect timing. There was a lady working there, I wish I got her name, but she was so sweet, kind, and welcoming. She made our experience even better with her hospitality. Plus, the restaurant is conveniently located near the airport, making it a great stop before or after a flight. Highly recommend! We'll definitely be back next time we're in town. read more

We used to live near here and go often. After revisiting after years we were happy to see things haven't changed; it's still a great Thai place to eat! The Chicken Basil is excellent. The Fried lemon chicken is about the crispiest chicken you could ever eat. If you have a kid, order them this as it's got a simple elevated "chicken nugget" flavor they'll love. The coconut panang curry is also great. And don't leave without trying a mango sticky rice. There is nothing like this dessert anywhere in Chicago that I'm aware of. What a great place we found on the way to Midway airport. It is on the small side, but clean. The menu is large and they have many excellent and inexpensive lunch dishes. Food was really good. Service was outstanding. I got a takeout order and they sat me at a table as I waited. They served me water and offered an appetizer. I thought the food was going to take a long time to come the way they treated me but it did not. Anyway, I ordered pad Thai and drunken noodles. Both were good. We stopped in for a late dinner and were instantly greeted and chose a table. The staff was very friendly and responsive throughout our dinner. We started with spring rolls and crab rangoon and it was crazy how fast they came out. The crab rangoon was definitely our favorite of the two but we enjoyed both. The spring rolls were unlike any I've had in the past and we couldn't quite determine why. They have a unique taste but the portion was perfect to share. For my entree, I had Pad Thai with chicken. They also give you a cup of their homemade hot sauce which was a great addition. The amount of meat in the dish was fantastic and the portion size was perfect. We were hungry after our flight and found this place nearby. I got the pad see ew lunch special and it comes with soup. The soup was tomato-based and filled with a variety of veggies. Mediocre food, small portions and poor customer service from management (although the server was polite and courteous). I ordered a broccoli tofu dish that tasted rubbery and inedible (there were a few limp pieces of broccoli swimming in a viscid brown sauce). I notified the manager/proprietor that I was dissatisfied with the quality of the dish and asked for a replacement of the tofu. He proceeded to argue at length with me, citing his "fourteen years in business" and claiming that there "was nothing he could do" to fix the dish or replace the item. The owner seemed egregiously oblivious to basic customer service standards and decorum. We had just come in from the West Coast, and were the only patrons in the restaurant. Given the owner's behavior, it was evident why. In my entire decades of dining out, I've never encountered a more hostile and arrogant attitude from an owner over a simple request from a paying customer to improve a mediocre dish. read more

We did delivery for an office meeting and it was a very easy order and it came in very great containers easy to distribute the family owned. Their food is soo good. Nice little Thai spot. My only complaint is how freaking cold it is in there. It's super small dining spot which I get. Our waiter was super nice and on point. We started with an appetizer of crab Rangoon and shrimp in a blanket and the crab Rangoon was good but I wish it was filled more but fried to perfection. The shrimp in the blanket was amazing. Super crispy. I loved every bite. I also ordered a Thai tea and it was spot on! My wife ordered the pad Thai and it was prefect. Often times you can't judge the book by its cover. I believe the same principle goes to finding a good local restaurant. "Bree Thai" is located within the strip mall, Archer-Central Plaza. It's freakin' close to the Midway Airport. Therefore, it gets the "Yelp search" traffic for those who are looking for a place to eat before or after the flight. As soon as hubby and I walked in, I said to myself "wow, the dining room is very tiny." That really didn't bother me because each table was decorated tastefully with a blooming rose in the water as the center piece. The nice gentleman in charge of FOH (I believe his name is Frank) was polite and attentive the entire time we were there, so was his team. I had the Massanman curry. I wasn't sure what that was yet the name caught me interest. I expected this to not be this mild since it was listed with one (1) flame icon on the menu. I loved the creaminess and could care less on how spicy it was supposed to be. Initially, I didn't think the portion was large enough. Oh well, it was very full afterward because all the hearty veggies hidden in the curry. Hubby's red curry, on the other hand, was slightly spicier. I didn't what they did on the sauce, but it probably was one of the most well-blended concoctions I have had in the city. I don't claim to be a Thai-food connoisseur, but I always appreciate a delicious bowl of curry like what Bree Thai kitchen treated us on a hot Saturday afternoon. They do have a minimum cap on a debit/credit transaction: $12. If a purchase is under $12, there will a $1.50 convenience fee. I didn't render a perfect score this time because I want to come back and give other dishes a try. If you are looking for good authentic Thai cuisine on the south side of Chicago this is your spot, the place is super tiny which is why I mainly order for pick up but the food is delish! I have not once been disappointed! The taste is consistent, I have tried a few of their dishes but one of my favorites are the chicken basil and the cashew nut, so very good! I ordered several items for delivery. The order was filled in a reasonable amount of time, but the quality was disappointing. Miso soup was very bland and had quite a lot of settled solids; I think they use a powdered miso. There was maybe 1 oz of tofu, just a few seaweed flakes, and no green onion. It was so bland I refused to eat it. The broccoli in my main course was way overcooked, like an olive drab to brownish color and soggy. The sauce was watery and lacked any decent flavorings. The spring roll was 99% lettuce, quite bland, and wrapped in a thin piece of filo dough. . The cucumber salad with seaweed was pretty good.
