Steak tacos! Yum!
Lydia H.

Fantastic! Help keep this place in business. We had excellent sushi and I'm not personally a sushi person. What places this food in my heart is the curry. It definitely has a heat, but I loved it. (Just keep a beverage close) Also tried the steak tacos. Very well seasoned and packaged well to go. They didn't get soggy. Great service , reasonable prices, and great food. This will be a new favorite and is convenient to those who live out near Lake Robinson and not just to the Greer or Taylors community. Menu is at https://sushishacksc.square.site/s/order.

Spring rolls - yum
Nicole G.

My daughter and I popped in for our first time this past weekend. I can't speak to the sushi, but we both ordered the Pad Thai and it was really good! The serving was pretty big - more than I could finish and it was loaded with a variety of vegetables like fresh bell peppers, mushrooms, and broccoli. The grilled chicken on it was excellent - I could have eaten it alone and enjoyed it. We also had the spring rolls, which were fresh and delicious. Overall, the meal was great and the prices were good too - only $9 for a huge dish and $2 extra for chicken. My only complaint was that it was FREEZING inside - it was a really cold day and the heater just couldn't seem to keep up. So, if you are going in winter, bring a coat and plan to keep it on. We will definitely be back for more!

Deeeeelicious! A new place to eat near my work. So good. Definitely a great place to eat in an area that does not have as many options. This place is GREAT

We ordered the chicken bento box with a spider roll on the side. The spider roll kinda came apart in my hands trying to eat it. No way to pick it up with chop sticks. The bento box was ok. Not awesome but adequate. Service is slow so ordering 20 minutes before you go is the best way. The black menu has old prices so be ready for a price increase. I have attached the new white menu that is updated. Chicken bento and a spider roll was $27. Seemed kinda high.

Pleasantly surprised. Very unassuming front but modern interior and nice vegetarian rolls that could easily be made vegan. I enjoyed my sweet potato tempura roll and avocado and peanut roll. Will return for sure.

Drunken geisha roll, California roll, and the crunchy crab roll

FINALLY!!! I have been waiting for a good sushi place to come to Greer forever! I passed this the other day and couldn't wait to try it. The crunchy crab roll and drunken geisha roll are incredible. The pork belly tacos have an amazing, freshly grilled taste and the special sauce makes it! I will 100% be ordering again and again.

There is a sign at The Southern Growl that reads, in effect, that if your pet or your child…read moreproduces waste on the premises, you are expected to clean it up. I read it three times, not because I misunderstood it, but because I wanted to confirm that it listed pets and children in that order, which it did, and that tells you something about the sequence of problems they've encountered on the lawn, though I've decided not to find out what exactly. With that said, the lawn is not exactly a lawn at all, unless you consider granite rocks as a lawn, which the residents of Elberton, Georgia do as it is considered the "Granite Capital of the World." Elberton this is not. This rocky lawn is to be filled with Bichon Frisés and children in ball caps, and on the afternoon I visited it was doing exactly that. There was a dog near the covered bar area moving through the patio with the serenity of an animal who has never once been told that other people exist. His owner stood nearby holding a beer and looking proud, which is a face I recognized, because I have a son and have stood next to him with that exact expression at least twice in public places where I should have known better. I had the Radiant Positivity, a sour ale at 6%, which sounds like something printed above a middle school guidance counselor's desk but turned out to be genuinely good, all grapefruit and a tartness that knew when to stop. I thought about ordering the Kamp Jam, a 4% light lager described as tasting like shared laughter and the unbreakable bonds of friendship, and decided I wasn't there yet. The owners opened this place in 2014 and have expanded it three times since, which tells you something about Greer that it probably already knows about itself but that the rest of the area is still catching up on. Consequentially, Greer itself has also expanded its waistline 3 times since 2014 but that's a discussion for another time. I ordered a second beer, the Howler Bock, a Helles Bock that the bartender described in terms I didn't fully follow but nodded along to, the way you nod at a doctor who is explaining something you've already decided to accept. It was malty and quieter than the Radiant Positivity, the kind of beer you drink while thinking about something else, which is not an insult. I thought about asking about the Southern Sanctum, an American Tripel, but the afternoon had reached the evening and a point where a Tripel felt like a commitment that deserved more deliberation than I had left in me. I paid my tab, which was reasonable in a way that surprised me given the quality of everything, said goodbye to nobody in particular, and drove home thinking about the Kamp Jam, and whether the unbreakable bonds of friendship were something I'd get to eventually.

I got their classic chicken sandwich, but the scallion aioli stole the show. Easily the best dipping sauce around here. I would say try any beer that appeals to you, and you won't be disappointed. Tried the Earl Of The Abbey first, and wow. A beer with earl grey tea is new for me, but works phenomenally well. Plus the service is also great! Casey, Abby, and Bob were all nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. Give this place a try if you want a relaxing drink, good food, a family-friendly spot, or just an excuse to get out. You won't be disappointed.

Craft cocktails and house beers served at a bustling wood-heavy bar, playful signage, local flair, and a relaxed but rowdy Southern vibe. The bartender bursting with Southern personality stands behind the rich, wood-worn bar, confident and radiant. Her sleeves are rolled up, a few loose strands of hair catching the daylight as she moves with effortless rhythm. A warm, knowing smile spreads across her face as she happily serves a jug of the house-made egg nog. Soon after, she prepares a crafty Old Fashioned--measuring the bourbon, stirring clear ice in a heavy rocks glass, perfectly embodying the brewery's quirky southern soul and big-hearted attitude. There's a lived-in comfort to the space: scuffed wood that tells stories, sunlight pooling across tables, and small-town pride in every detail. The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, equal parts gathering place and second home. It's where locals come not just for the beer or cocktails, but for the familiarity--the nods, the shared jokes, the sense of belonging that keeps them hanging around long after the glass is empty. Cheers!

Best Bloody Mary I have had and no frilly garnishments needed! They had 3. Yes I said three. T H R E E staffers and they took amazing care of everyone in the house! The bartender waited table and kept drinks flowing and never uttered or looked flustered! She actually asked us for a five minute break?!?!? We said take 10 ! The food .... Calamari done in a style I had never had. Along with onions and peppers it was fried perfectly. Not over cooked at all and even though hubby isn't a calamari fan he tried them and went back for more bites even. For appetizers I had their shrimp and grits and again hubby disposes grits but he wasn't thinking and I forked some in his mouth and he was so surprised because he has always had gritty grits. These were so smooth and the fabulous taste from the sauce just cemented how delicious they were. Husband had a nice juicy bacon (piled high) cheeseburger all the way and it is served on a yummy brioche style bun. Buttery and toasted on the grill. Daughter had their chicken parmigiana (which I almost went with as well) and said it was a definite eat again! They have the bar and grill atmosphere but like family dining also! The…read moreprices have gone up yet the quality isn't what we were used to getting when already spending a ridiculous amount for a pizza. Last night we had ordered a margarita pizza. It initially came with no basil, all the tomatoes were all in the center not scattered around, and the crust was burnt and hard. When I bit into the pizza, it crunched. Flatbreads aren't even cooked that much. We had to call in and get a new pizza. It had more tomatoes and this time it had basil, but the crust was still thin, overcooked and crunchy. Very disappointing. Refer to my video and of past photos. Whatever has changed, should be fixed sooner than later.

Concrete floors stretch farther than a gossip trail in July, echoing every clack, shout, and whoop like the place is tryin' to remind you it used to be something industrial. There's TVs everywhere--the whole place hums with people packed in tighter than church pews on Easter Sunday, all chattin', clinkin', and elbowin' their way to a good view. Tables and chairs are nothing fancy, just sturdy enough to handle hot wings, beer mugs, and the occasional enthusiastic fist pound. In the back, a foosball table spins its little plastic fellas like they're runnin' drills for the World Cup. Servers zip around so fast you'd swear they're trainin' for a NASCAR pit crew--dodgin' stumbles, slidin' past barstools, and deliverin' plates with the grace of someone who's done this dance since birth. It ain't cozy, it ain't quiet, but lord have mercy, it's alive. Now their pizza--bless its heart--comes out lookin' mighty hopeful, all round and steamin' like it's fixin' to impress somebody, but the moment you take a bite, you realize it's about as exciting as a layover in an empty airport terminal. The crust's got the personality of a cardboard coaster--flat, polite, and determined not to offend by having any actual flavor. And that Italian sausage? Lawd. Dry as a sermon and somehow even blander than the rest of the pie, like it got all the seasoning scared out of it somewhere over the Midwest. It fills the belly if you're hungry, sure--but it sure won't make you stand up and salute the flag of flavor. Cheers!
