It was date night for us and we figured it would be nice to enjoy the Greer Downtown on that Friday night and knew we felt like sushi. After looking online for sushi in the area, Osaka Grill popped up. Though it's a hole-in-the-wall sort of place, that's a good sign because those tend to be the gems. Not fancy, but comfortable and casual atmosphere. There are tables and booths. It was busy on this Friday night (our first time ever here). We wanted a booth instead of the tables that were close to several other tables filled with customers and they allowed us to wait by the bar/counter where we watched and also looked at the menu to decide what sushi we wanted. Once seated, we were able to order quickly getting the Happy Family, Atlanta Roll, and Alaska Roll, miso soup. They were all good! What was even more welcoming was the price - definitely a great value, which probably explained why there were plenty of carryouts/pickups. Good food, good service, and amazing price! read more

We ordered the dinner special with ribeye steak and shrimp. It was perfectly cooked and a big portion for too, only $14.99. Salad with a ginger dressing was a wonderful way to start and included with our meal. Wine for just $5 a glass. Wonderful service with a simple and elegant atmosphere. Drove from Inman, SC, and it was well worth the drive! Ordered Osaka Special Hibachi. Cooked to perfection. Nice combination of chicken, ribeye steak, and shrimp. The restaurant has a wonderful selection of sushi rolls. We had the Ebiten Roll (Tempura shrimp, avocado, cucumber and mango), Yummy! Also had the Spicy Yellowtail roll, and the California roll. For starters the prices on menu aren't the same as when you check out. They have a sign when you check out that says the menu is a 4% discount if you pay cash (should probably have that on the actual menu so people know) but anyways the portion is the smallest amount I've ever recieved when getting Japanese food! The plate and kids bowl had the exact amount of food. And the taste omg there was no taste until I added the white sauce! The food wasn't even hot! It was warm but more on the cooler side of warm! A hidden gem for sure! This place popped on our radar after shopping near by and in need of dinner. The place is small but has great things inside! We walked in to a few couples enjoying a meal but began getting crowded shortly after ordering and I see why. We ordered a shrimp tempura roll and I always expect some nickle sized pieces to just tide me over. These half dollar sized bites of pure perfection were flavorful and filling. We will be moving to Greer in the future and after meeting with the builder decided to expand our Greer food opportunities. We tried 5 rolls and all were quite tasty. The rice had good texture, not over cooked, but as with so many sushi places would benefit from incorporating more su in the cooling process. A proper rice would have more sheen and a mild vinegar flavor. All-in-all, quite good. read more

We have been wanting to try this place. There's always a lot of cars parked there. Inside is a small family run sort of place. I arrived about 6 pm on a Wednesday, then it seemed the whole dinning room got full quickly. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and ribeye hibachi. The salad cane with our plates and the ginger dressing was especially good. The service was kinda slow because only 1 waitress was handling the whole dinning room. Can't hardly fault them for not being about get workers. The food came out soon enough though. The main course was really good and pink sauce outstanding. If you like sushi then I would not recommend coming here. There was no flavor to any of the 4 rolls we got. They just add cream cheese to everything and that's all you taste. Absolute waste of $50. The staff was very friendly and you can absolutely tell it's a family business. If you are wanting to grab a big sushi meal for great prices I would absolutely always choose here. Ballin on a budget! I love sushi, but I love a good deal even more. There's no question this is the best sushi for the price in the area. Good selection of basic rolls around $5. Some better ones for a couple bucks more. I somehow I always end up ordering Crab Rangoon before every sushi order. I don't recommend that here. Pretty bad and they don't even have sweet and sour sauce. I was given duck sauce, which wasn't terrible but the first ingredient was high fructose corn syrup... yay... As far as the sushi goes, pretty damn good. Rolls I would expect to find at finer establishment costing $3-4 more per roll. Average food, good prices. Many sushi rolls are only 2.99. Good place to go if you want to load up on inexpensive sushi. Immigration crab is used, but expected at this low price. I really like this place. They have a good selection of sushi rolls and their hibachi and rice bowls are spot on. The prices are not too bad either. I had a Rainbow, Osaka, Hawaiian, and Dragon rolls. My fieance had the Osaka Special habachi ( steak, shrimp and chicken). My only complaint is that the rolls are a little smaller than I like.
