It my hibachi had chewable steak and my "fried ride" was actually FRIED rice and not just soggy rice with a little bit of soy sauce tossed on for color. If you mix the spicy sauce with the white sauce it gives it enough flavor to be edible. The cost is super cheap and I see why. read more

We ordered the chicken and shrimp combo and like the others have noted, the chicken was a little dry. That's a pretty small issue though. The shrimp was tasty and rice perfect. The service was great which consisted of a person at the counter passing your plated food to you. The utensils were small plastic cheap kind. Again, a small issue. The dinning room was clean and orderly, bathrooms sufficient. $11.99 for the combo and I would say well worth the price considering a whopper combo is about the same. My wife and I split this meal so I would say it was a Win. read more

DRY OF TOKYO I've eaten a lot of Japanese food in my life but this is clearly the worst I've ever eaten. The chicken was so dry that I decided I would leave the majority untouched. I tried several pieces hoping there were only a stray few dry pieces but each one was so so dry that they were inedible. I ordered the steak medium rare and it was served medium well. The vegetables and rice however were perfect! We asked for no onions in our vegetables and they actually charged us 50 cents each to OMIT the onions! Wait...what??!! Who charges you money to leave out food from your order?? Apparently they do! I'm definitely not coming back! I tried this restaurant at a different location 15 years ago and didn't have a good experience then. Apparently nothing has changed! Even if someone paid for my food here the next time, I still wouldn't eat it. Honestly, it was VERY disappointing! I'm gonna make the trip to Osaka Grill if I want Japanese food next time because although this place is convenient it's not worth the money or my tastebuds! read more

Well, have went to order from there and never had the. Finally i ordered, my expectations high, my thoughts of mall hibachi having my anticipation full blown!! Opened the box of the hibachi Shrimp chicken and mushrooms with extra ginger sauce on the side and it looked amazing!!!! Opened my dumplings, dried out wontons that were trying to be crispy but didn't make it, or steamed ones that were old and or cooked too long. The hibachi although in appearance looked good was actually the blandest thing I've ever eaten, I'm a food service director and been cooking for 40 years and this is the blandest thing I've ever eaten, i currently work in senior care and my food for them has more flavor. And the "fried rice" well, its as iff all this was sitting on a steam table drying out, the chicken was almost saw dust and i dont know what that ginger sauce was but the only hint of ginger is in the name, just a brown congealed tasteless something. Waited all this time for a colossal disappointment. The only thing and i mean only thing remotely good was the shrimp, firm, good tasting shrimp. Food that looked and sounded good was actually bland tasteless fake hibachi. $40 for an entree and appetizer should get one a pretty good meal. Im extremely disappointed. Tasteless things pretending to be hibachi. You should be ashamed of yourselves. read more

This place is a scam. Go to Fuji instead where you get a sufficient quantity of food for less money! They dice up the chicken and steak so small and even sliced the broccoli so thin. We paid an extra 50 cents for zucchini and literally for 2 small pieces. We won't return! We paid $30 for overcooked, dry food the size of a small side. read more

We have not had any complaints with joy of Tokyo in Greer until recently. They are hard to get ahold of when placing an order, and when they do answer the phone you get put on hold for a long time where you can hear them talking and laughing in the background. Today I placed an order and was told on the phone that it would be about 10-15 minutes until my food was ready. I arrived 15 minutes after placing my order. When I went to pay I was told my order was almost ready just waiting on the sushi rolls. I waited in the store for 30 minutes. Therefore my order took 45 minutes to be prepared when I was told it would only take 10-15 minutes. Not happy and will not return. read more

The sushi was so fishy you couldn't even eat it. The rice was overcooked and nasty. I have eaten at many other Joy of Tokyo's and the food always seems good there. read more
