Rick Erwin’s Greer

As is expected of a Rick Erwins - Step inside and you'll swear this place learned its manners from…read morea front-porch storyteller with a crystal decanter in hand. This is Southern charm dressed to the nines--warm wood, timeworn brick, and sturdy stone setting the scene like an old family estate that's been quietly upgraded with excellent taste. Soft, modern lighting glows just right, flattering every face and cocktail, while crisp white tablecloths snap to attention, ready for a night that knows how to behave. As the night thickens and the room fills, the staff moves with a kind of practiced urgency--polished, purposeful, and quietly electric. Servers weave between tables like dancers who know the floor by heart, arms balanced with trays, eyes always scanning, always anticipating. And yet, in the middle of that rising tempo, there's a moment where you have to gently tap the brakes. Our server, swept up in the rhythm of the rush is ready to sprint us through the evening, but a friendly smile and a soft word slow the pace, reminding everyone that while the house may be buzzing, our table is here to linger, more bread please! The evening begins with a little bit of drama--in the very best way--with a sizzling Saganaki arriving at the table like a proper grand entrance. The skillet still crackles, the cheese golden and bubbling, sending up a rich, savory aroma that turns heads and quiets conversation, every bite is a perfect balance of salty, creamy, and bold. Next comes the truffle pappardelle, wide ribbons of pasta lounging on the plate like they know they're the main character. The truffle aroma shows up first--earthy and indulgent--followed by tender, juicy chicken that's been flirted with chimichurri, adding a fresh, herby sass that keeps things from getting too serious. It's a pairing that shouldn't work this well but absolutely does. That said, the dish arrives shy of piping hot, and the plate itself seems to have missed the warm-up. The flavors are all there, showing good intentions and solid execution, but you find yourself wishing the temperature had matched the confidence of the ingredients. Upscale Southern charm with bold flavors, lively energy, and a pace that's best savored slow. Cheers!

This is not a place for a casual weeknight dinner unless you've recently won the lottery, in my…read moreopinion. So when I win the lottery I will be sure to put it on the weekly rotation. We were here for a birthday dinner, and we could not have asked for better service or food. I've never felt so well taken care of by wait staff. There were 10 of us and there were at least 4 servers who were constantly bringing food, refilling drinks, and even wiping crumbs off the tablecloth. They were gracious to a fault, and by the end of the meal the owner, Rick Erwin himself, stopped by to say hello and ask if we enjoyed the meal. The food was delicious. I had surf and turf and it was the best filet mignon I've ever eaten. Of course they suggested the truffle butter on top, and even though it was an additional $9 I got it. Divine! The bread basket was filled with a variety of amazing rolls. And the crème brûlée was excellent. If you have a special occasion to celebrate I strongly recommend this restaurant. Just be ready to spend at least $75 per person f you're getting cocktails and dessert.

I had takeout that was purchased an hour prior to when I had lunch, but when I went to open my meal, it was still warm & fresh! It was also wrapped and packaged neatly. I got a veggie burger with cheese, which tasted great! The patty was definitely full of veggies. All the sandwich ingredients were fresh and the whole wheat bun was a nice surprise. The sweet potato fries were also yummy and didn't taste too fried or oily. I would've thought they were baked! For a burger and fries, I didn't feel gross and sluggish afterwards either. I would definitely visit here sometime!

First time here (4/5/25) for a Munzee event…read more I was greeted with a smile and a "welcome" when I came in and the associate very kindly walked me through using the ordering system. Had the chicken club sandwich with fries and a water. I love a good club sandwich and this didn't disappoint! It was very tasty and satisfying and the chicken was cooked to pet and juicy! The bacon was crisp and the fries were golden brown, crispy and sweet. The inside was extremely clean and comfortable. The temperature inside was cool and the aroma made you hungry. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that it was lunchtime on a Saturday on Wade Hampton and thin place was not very busy. This really scares me when the food is this good but the place isn't busy. This is definitely another "will return soon" place. If you're reading this, yes, give it a try. I think I spent maybe $15 for my meal. Not horrible in today's economy.
