Ordered takeout on a Monday night! Udon noodles stir fry with tofu and Ma Po tofu. Quick 15 minute turnaround, food fresh, generous portions and hot... but vegetarians thrive on vegetables. I mean frozen carrots and peas stirred along with mushrooms in the tofu dish.. really? Udon noodles were clean tasting, with a few fresh cut vegetables but were sparsely garnished with token amounts of tofu. Once they figure out how much tofu to add to a portion and be consistent with the veggies in the vegetarian dishes, the food has potential! read more

Lin's is one of my favorite neighborhood spots for anything Asian. The staff is so kind, even when you are picking up takeout food. I had the beef lo mein, and my husband had a chicken lo mein. We agreed mine was better! Mine had a very flavorful sauce along with whole baby carrots, celery, onion, slices of beef and noodles in a spicy sauce. His was the same, but with chicken. The whole meal was a great experience. We did go in at 3:45 so it was in between the lunch and dinner hour. However we were greeted and seated quickly. Our server checked on us multiple times and the food came out fast. Everything was fresh and delicious. It was hard to choose what to eat but we got the spring roll appetizer, sushi, and pad Thai. I got the sunrise roll and chicken Pad Thai. The roll was giant that I didn't really need the noodles. That will be lunch tomorrow. My husband got 4 rolls and it filled him up. Went for dinner tonight and a couple got up from their table and sat some where else and was pointing at something at the table to the server and I was telling my husband it can't be a bug otherwise I would have to leave . And a like 2 mins later a big cockroach came around on the side of the bench seat and came around to the other table . We told the server and he told someone else and he got a napkin he picked it up and started walking and the roach must of fallen out of the napkin and started crawling on the floor . Asked for our food to go just because it just came to the table once we told him about the bug . This is our favorite restaurant and the server said this has never happened and they spray monthly . Excellent food, quality & quantity!! The dinner can be costly but you do get your money's worth. Lunch (11-3 Monday-Sat.) is the best bet for your money. I'm new to the Simpsonville area and was very glad to find this gem just moments from my new doorstep! I'm sure it will become a regular stop for me and my wife when we are in the mood for sushi. When trying a new sushi restaurant, I usually opt for something fairly standard - a regular sushi dinner. You know, the kind where the chef chooses the cuts of nigiri (6-8 pieces) and you typically get a California roll with it. I think this is a really good test of a sushi restaurant. You'll always get a couple of pieces of tuna and a couple of salmon, but the rest of the choices tell a lot about the restaurant. I've had some where it was 3 tuna and 3 salmon and that was your dinner. Others have had a wider variety, but it was clearly fish that the place was trying to get rid of. Not so at Lin's! My regular sushi dinner had 2 tuna, 2 salmon, 1 yellowtail, 1 squid, and 1 red snapper. All seemed very fresh and were super tender and tasty. They also had embellishments, such as a dollop of fish roe on top of one of the pieces and shavings of... lime? possibly?... on another. They topped it off with a carved orange in the shape of a bear (check out the top left corner of the picture I posted) - which I'd never seen before. Clearly, this is a place that cares about the product they are selling and makes an effort to present it in a special way. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the sweet shrimp (amaebi). I always think of this as two dishes for the price of one, because it is typically served as one piece of shrimp nigiri and the deep-fried, stuffed head of the shrimp alongside. So I didn't think too much about a price of $8 for this piece of sushi (two-for-one, after all). To my surprise, however, this order included two pieces of shrimp nigiri and two heads! So, really, four for one. What a deal! Loved my first visit to Lin's and can't wait to introduce my wife to it when she joins me here. Sure to become a regular! read more

So delicious! We were pleasantly surprised at how fresh and beautifully presented the food was. I ordered the lunch bento box with tempura chicken and hub ordered the sushi box. Each came with a side of soup and salad. My "box" included moist, delicious rice with veggies, shumai, tempura fried vegetables, four pieces of California roll, and four large tempura chicken strips, and a soy-based dipping sauce. Everything was so, so good! Hub also enjoyed his sushi and sashimi with rice and shumai as well. Service was kind and efficient. Writing this is making me hungry for the delicious flavors again! I always come here for their sushi lunch deal - 3 rolls for $15. They could put more fish in the rolls but for the price I can't complain. I will normally get the Philadelphia roll and then two salmon with avocado rolls. It also comes with soup or salad and I get the salad with ginger dressing. We went for Christmas Eve dinner and were happy to get a table immediately upon arrival. Our waiter was quick and attentive and very friendly, answering our questions as it was our first time there. We love Chinese food and it's been difficult to find a solely Chinese restaurant- even Lin's wasn't that. We ordered the crab rangoons and gyoza for appetizers and both were good. They had nice flavors. The miso soup was delicious, but I had hoped to find won ton soup on the menu. They didn't offer that. We ordered our favorite go-to options: Sweet n sour chicken, sesame chicken, and chicken lo mein. I wasn't a fan of any of it, but my husband enjoyed the sesame chicken. The lo mein was ruined for me by the mushrooms I didn't realize were mixed in. The sweet n sour chicken everywhere around here isn't prepared the way I've grown up with it cooked: smothered in the sauce and cooked with bell peppers, pineapple, and onion. Every restaurant I've looked up serves it this same way- dry chicken with a bowl of sauce on the side. I don't know why this is, but it's disappointing. While the overall experience wasn't horrible, we will continue our search for the best Chinese food in the area. read more

They truly mean Asian food since the menu spans from sushi, hibachi, Thai, and a little Chinese as well. We've never been disappointed when eating here. The staff is friendly and efficient. Now is the time to focus on the system for contact-less pickup. Lin's has a seamless system to order on line, stay in your car and call upon arrival. The staff sets your order on a marked chair outside. Since you're picking up, the containers are important, and Lin's are substantial, and recyclable! We started with an excellent Crab Rangoon appy and Hot and Sour soup, which was good, not great. Sea Feast roll I'd not likely get again, but the Pearl Roll was really quite good- shrimp, crab, asparagus, crunch and wasabi. In this case, the $7 roll ended up being much better than the $14 roll. We need to all continue to focus on helping out the local biz! read more

Pretty decent. Economically priced. Okay customer service. Averagely clean. Dishes met but did not exceed expectations. Lukewarm mushroom soup, vegetable goyza had some extra texture (maybe some woody mushroom stems?), and the tofu dish was very spicy but the flavor profile lacked complexity. It's right off of the main shopping drag in Greenville and fortunately all of my other sushi picks were closed for the day so I decided to chance it and I'm very glad I did!! I ordered pick up and the sushi was very fresh, wasabi and ginger didn't have the old left-out of the fridge taste, and each roll had a very big portion of fish which is always a plus.
