I got take-out from this place a couple of years ago and I remember that I thought it was pretty expensive but that the food was fine. Got take-out again and it was not good at all. Either they messed up my order or their Hibachi Shrimp is actually chicken. The Mongolian Beef did not have any spice or flavor for that matter. Everything pretty much tasted the same - bland. Three people tried the food and none thought it was any good. Threw out the leftovers, which I don't recall that I have ever done before with Chinese food. ~$70 down the drain. I've been here several times in the past, but it's usually when my better half is out of town. Went here last night for a to go order for dinner. I got General T'so chicken, fried rice and spring rolls. The chicken was really tasty and juicy, the rice was great and the spring rolls were out of this world! Now, with all that being said, this place is what I call a "hole in the wall". You walk in and the atmosphere and ambience would probably make you not want to eat here. But please do not judge this book by its cover. There is some really good food here. The place look to be owned / ran by an Asian couple who speak really good English. Service could be a little better but it's not their fault. It's their culture which is why I really like this place. Customer service for them is basically "sit down, what do you want?" I don't expect them to act like Americans because they're not. Is this "authentic" Chinese food? I have no idea since I've never been to China. Not good at all. Might be the worst Chinese food I've ever had. And I've had A LOT. The "beef" was disgusting. Noodles mushy. Got several other items all tasted bland and old/weird. Where do I even begin..... I don't understand why Lin Garden has such bad reviews, they are fantastic!! I have never run into a problem with them and I have ordered from them for years. (I even ran out to pick up my order right before a snow storm because I was craving some Lo Mein) They make their meals quick and I'm always licking the containers after inhaling my food. The staff is polite over the phone and when I come inside to pick it up. Unfortunately, I'm too far from them to have them deliver, but believe me; if I wasn't, I would go broke. So it's probably a good thing I'm not in the vicinity. I would absolutely recommend this place to my family and friends, because they are a wonderful and authentic Chinese restaurant I have had the pleasure of discovering and falling in love with. P.S. Lin Garden has been around for awhile now. It's my family and I's go-to place when we are craving Chinese food. Portions are reasonably priced and are good sizes. Their menu is large and there is something for everyone. I've never had an issue with an order. I always order carry out because delivery does take a while. This evening I ordered a pint of pepper steak for takeout. The photo of the plate of onions is what I got with about 6 slivers of beef. Some of the onions were even sprouting green shoots all over again which means the onions were old and sitting in a box in their back room. This is one of the cheap tricks that some Chinese takeout restaurants are pulling on their customers--CHEAP VEGGIE OVERLOAD. Lin Cooks: Listen carefully: Do not swindle your takeout customers. We too are a very important part of your customer base. Restaurants have closed for lesser reasons than this. Don't lie to your customers and put those crappy veggie fillers in your dishes (bamboo shoots, baby corn, onions, water chestnuts out of a can, carrot-overload, etc.). We always enjoy the food here. They are not 'over-the-top' friendly as they speak limited English, but have always greeted us with a smile. I would rather pay for food that will in return help a family and not a corporation. It isn't a very sit-down restaurant type, but who does that anyway?
