Professional and friendly staff greet you, seating is fairly minimal due to space but their food is so fresh and flavorful it holds well as takeout. We ordered the House Fried Rice which contained chicken, shrimp, and pork along with bits of veggies. The amount of meat was surprisingly plentiful and appreciated! Usually places skimp on the proteins in their fried rice but this place is not one of those places. The chicken on the rice was super tender and full of flavor! We also had the General Tso's Chicken which had a nice light heat and overall delicious sauce. Their Spring Rolls are delicious and come 2 per order. If you love Spring Rolls (like me) I recommend getting two orders (4 rolls) as they run a little on the small side. They're currently only about $2 per order though so they make a delicious little snack for a great price. I'd totally pop in just for a couple of those!

The bottle of shrimp/yum yum sauce they put on the table so you can add your own. No more asking for more little cups like elsewhere! It tends to be busy, so plan accordingly or plan to wait. My favorite is the seasoned pea tips cooked and seasoned soooo yummy, I cant explain it if your a vegetable eater you must try it!!!!

Waited for someone to arrive at the hostess stand, when she arrived the lady didn't smile and welcome us, she just asked how many and follow me. Server on the other hand was very friendly and helpful from start to finish. She brought us water and took our soup order. The weekday lunch menu includes a salad/soup with a meal. The won ton soup only had one wonton and my egg drop soup was flavorless. I visited the bathroom which was extremely clean and smelled fresh. In fact all of the restaurant was extremely clean. My son mentioned this fact to a guy cleaning the dining room tables. He was doing a great job, over and above the table he cleaned the wall, seats and floor too 5/5 Entrees ordered, didn't take long. Vegetarian dish with lots of bok choy was lacking any flavor. I ordered the Almond chicken, there were a million slivers of almonds on top of shredded chicken, served with white rice. Again no flavor. Also the beef with added spice was disappointing. Such a shame as I really wanted to like this place. We ordered the Banana spring rolls with ice cream to share. It was delicious JMO as usual

Unquestionably, the Roti Canai is the delicious signature dish here. Tip: order an extra "pancake"…read moreor "roti". Roti is a general, broad (Sanskrit) term for any type of bread or flatbread, whereas "roti canai" is a specific, popular type of flaky, layered flat bread from Malaysia. This is served with a curry chicken sauce, but really there is not a lot if chicken, android the pancake is crispy, layered, fluffy, piping hot, and unbelievably good. The curry is like a butter chicken, Indian influenced curry. As mentioned, this is at heart a Malaysian restaurant but also served Chinese and Thai classics. Also unquestionably, the decor could use some serious help by the Restaurant Impossible crew. It feels cramped and like a Halloween costume of a Chinese or Asian restaurant, lacking any character or charm, almost a caricature. The service is attentive, but most likely students from nearby Furman University and less experienced, but nice. It is somewhat amusing to me for some reason when, mid-meal, the waitress arrives to the table with a pitcher of ice water and looks at our empty water glasses to ask "would you like more water?" It was lunchtime. Not very crowded. The roti was superb. The $4.00 "pork egg roll", howevre, was a single, skinny, overcooked, under stuffed appetizer with a thin duck sauce accompanying it and tasting like a commercially premade dish or a frozen selection from the grocer. Never to be ordered again. The main I chose was the chicken bulgogi lettuce wrap, which was served with romaine lettuce (not the classic cold, crunchy iceberg as at most places. The bulgogi was overly ratioed with diced water chestnuts in excess to the chicken pieces and it was also very sweet and nothing like classic bulgogi about it. The ingredients for bulgogi might be in this dish, but the composite wasn't the thinly sliced "fire meat" (what the word bulgogi means) I expected. It had chunky chicken, not slices and the sauce was overly sweet and gloopy (too much corn starch) and no heat spiciness. I really did not care to finish this dish. My wife had a serviceable Tom Yum soup that she said she would never order again. We do eat out frequently at Korean and Thai restaurants and these dishes really are not on the same level. But, the Roti Canai is so good, we will definitely be back to eat again. Five plus stars for Roti Canai.
