Blue Ridge Brewing was a fun bar to check out while in the downtown Greer area. I love a place where the staff are super chill and social, the space is welcoming and there's something on the menu that you'll want to have again and again. That was exactly how it was during my experience at Blue Ridge Brewing. We came here around the afternoon on a Sunday and there were a few patrons inside, mostly sitting at the bar, which is where we ended up sitting. It's the best seat in the house as our bartender was super fun and friendly. It seemed like a lot of locals come here as the staff knew many of the other patrons. It's always a good sign when an establishment has frequent customers. I wanted to try some of the local beer since I don't often find beer from the south where I live, but they only had two of their own beers on tap. Most of the other beers on tap were from elsewhere. However, I saw for their seasonal special, they make their own eggnog, which has bourbon, rum and cognac, so I had to try it. AND IT WAS SO ADDICTIVE. Our bartender let us know that they also sell it in a half gallon bottle. How dangerous! The specialty eggnog was awesome! If I was a local, I would easily get bottles of this stuff. So I'm glad I'm not a local. Although I didn't find beer here, which is ironic, given that it's a brewery, I found one of the best egg nogs I've ever had!

Dinner time and since I had found a spot with a power outlet, I opted to stay for a while. That meant I had a second beer and an entrée instead of just a quick stop. Warmly welcomed and with a friendly server who checked in on my often as I nursed the beer and the appetizer (the pimento cheese is excellent!), I enjoyed my time enough that I decided to stay for more. Another beer and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Good stuff and reasonably priced. I have to say - the website is a PITA. It's hard to browse. Y'all need to try it on Chrome and see what I mean. We don't need fancy. We just need it to work easily. [Round number review 19500 overall - 1071 in South Carolina - 470 of 2023.]

Ordered the Blue Ridge Burger & a side of zucchini after a recommendation by the server (instead of fries). This is what came. Lol. It's good, but I guess I expected more than 6 slices of zucchini. Meanwhile my colleagues all got a giant mound of fries. Moral of the story, order the fries.

The best eggnog ever! Only available at the holidays the eggnog has bourbon, rum, orange cognac, in a rich, creamy, decadent eggnog. Services is excellent. Food items on the menu are always very tasty..

This is our go to casual place in downtown. We find parking to be easier at this end of Trade Street and the food is consistent. I personally love the wings with a side of grits. Their burgers and gyros are always good too. For beer, I like their Kurli Blonde. If you're looking for delicious food in a clean restaurant with exceptional service, this is your place!

In the heart of Downtown Greer with rooftop access, this place should be a hit, a smash, poppin', the B place where you don't mind a little bit of a wait - but it's not. It be been here three times and as a transplant, I feel that I Have a wide palate but all of the fivestar reviews make me feel the need to leave an honest review from someone who hasn't always been local and has a taste that exceeds the confines of Greer. It's a flop. More misses than hits and it give the "empty restaurant effect". https://www.fastcompany.com/3016506/the-secret-power-behind-why-we-pick-busy-restaurants-over-empty-ones The fish-fry taste lingers in the French fries and other fried items. I shouldn't order fries and taste and smell fish. The burger boasts "lettuce tomato mayo" and proceeds to be a colorless tomato with heavy mayonnaise and flavorless scalloped display-lettuce. Although I appreciate the effort of the fresh herb garden, nothing about this place screams fresh. Meat heavy with a few flair items like their relish and BBQ sauce but the BBQ is so heavily flavored of chili, dare I say I'd rather have a side of sweet baby rays. Also a house ketchup with served - although I applaud the effort and ingenuity it was a terrible paste that reminded me of licorice? The efforts to be "different" or "unique" with their sauces were a major miss. Some fresh plates, a coat of paint and some wall art in the bathroom, and a fresh & modern menu would go A LONG WAY. Drop the heavy fish-heavy menu items that stain the smell of the walls and invest in a high quality produce for your burgers. Fresh jalapeños, better lettuce, quality pickle spears, and quality cheese would really elevate the menu. The moral of the story - The steak bomb is the best thing in the menu." And the server, Shane, was very nice.

Stopped here on a Tuesday night and will be back! We did an appetizer tasting with fried pickles, wings and pimento fries - all excellent plus sour cherry cider. Excellent service and a cool vibe with brick walls, hardwood floors and triple decker seating. All conveniently located in beautiful downtown Greer. Highly recommend this space!

    Shrimp & Grits

Decided to give it a try based on recommendation from a co-worker. Make sure and check hours. They were closed the first time I tried on Monday night. The grits in the Shrimp and Grits were very cheesy and tasted really good but the consistency was off IMO. I prefer them to be thicker. The shrimp were large and plentiful. Not as much Andouille Sausage as I expected. The Strawberry Cheesecake was also good but again consistency was a little off. Overall good not great and a lot of other options in the area.

Is this place kid appropriate on a Sunday after church?

Atmosphere-wise yes, but check the menu to make sure there are things they will eat ahead of time.

WELL Fireforge proved me wrong and set themselves apart. We had the pickle platter, Reuben, and studio fifty forge. Although I'm not big on Reuben's my boyfriend said it was one of his top Reuben's and that man orders Reuben's on the regular. The pickle party was delicious. Not sure what they have in their brine but I would purchase again and again. The studio fifty forge was delicious. The only thing I would change is real bacon and not the microwaveable. Even though it was the microwave bacon it was still heated to be crispy. Huge beer selections and friendly staff. PLENTY of outdoor and indoor seating. Parking validation is also available. It might be had to find parking during busier times, but would still go again and recommend to others.

The kind of place where you stop in for "just one" and suddenly realize the sun has set and you've somehow made three new friends... aka my favorite kind of brewery! I wish we could've stayed for the live music because the stage setup looked awesome, complete with disco balls and plenty of Instagram-worthy areas for pictures and boomerangs (yes, I'm a millennial and I'm sticking with it)! The beers were excellent, and it became clear pretty quickly that this brewery is woven into the fabric of the town. Their brews popped up at several restaurants we visited, and after stopping in, I totally understand why they're so well-loved in the area. The space is huge, with high ceilings and plenty of room to spread out. There's even an outdoor area built out along the sidewalk--probably a COVID addition that was too good to take away. The vibe was laid-back and welcoming. Service at the bar could've been a bit more attentive, but everyone was friendly and chill, so it never bothered us. And my favorite moment? Watching a grandpa-aged regular stroll in with his own paper plate "poor man's charcuterie board." I absolutely loved it. That's the kind of place this is, a spot where regulars feel at home and newcomers instantly want to become regulars! No food that I could tell, but honestly, with great beer, good vibes, live music, disco balls, and Jell-O shots, who needs much else?! If you're brewery hopping around town, make sure this one is on your list. It was our favorite stop, and I'd happily spend an entire afternoon getting lost here. Also, not sure if the Jell-O shots are a staple or not so don't be sad if they aren't there, I didn't asked, just vibed lol

Hubs had the meatballs (which the server said they only had two left...a friend nabbed the others) and other friends had the moules (mussels) frites and the braised short rib IIRC. The *.frites were the biggest hits. My filet was perfect, Sharon was raving about her mussels being the best she's had in ages. I had a bite of the meatballs, they were ok but people agreed there are better things on their menu. I love that the frites come with a choice of 3 out of about 10 different custom mayos (aiolis for the fancy-schmancy). I tried the curry, sriracha, and a fruity one I can't remember exactly what it was. I liked the fruity one the best and to my surprise, the curry the least (I usually love curry, but the balance was off). The sriracha mayo was too subtle for me, I slather sriracha mayo on my burgers regularly. I have no class. The frites were fresh cut and I enjoyed them but there were far more than I could eat on my plate, and sadly frites don't keep. They have my favorite super sweet Lindemann's framboise lambic on tap; I've only ever had it in bottles before, so that was a treat. My husband thinks I'm crazy to drink it because it is SO SWEET but I love it. So does Sharon, and clearly we're not alone or they wouldn't waste a tap on it :). It's beer for people who hate beer. (I resemble that remark. Maybe hate is a strong word. But in my 30s I realized I'd rather drink a soda than a beer, except for this one.) Desserts sounded good but we were too stuffed to order any. Next time I come, I may try the mussels, or I might just order that steak again.

It's in a basement that feels like a pleasant dungeon or a 1500's rogue tavern, you know, the kind in the movies where plots to overturn evil rulers are hatched. It is a unique vibe and after your meal, when emerging back onto the brightly lit street, it's akin to stepping out of a secret place and back into the light of day. The beer selection is impressive. This food is Belgian inspired. Hence the name being derived from a mix of Trappist Monks, trap doors, and a hidden underground enclave. Many of the beers have higher alcohol content, listed on the menu, be advised. The specialty is Moules Frites, mussels prepared in various broths and fries double fried in duck fat served with a flight of your choice of flavored mayonnaise such as wasabi, curry, truffle, sriracha, etc. Very good. Reservations are highly recommended. It was a busy Thursday at 6:30pm and the place was literally packed, even the bar. The two of us were seated in a large, dark, alcove booth fitting for six or perhaps even eight. We had a reservation, so the hostess said, "we may as well fill it" since it was that crowded. Being such, it was five minutes before we were noticed and placed our drink orders, another five before our water arrived and we ordered and about 30 minutes later to get our food. In between we were left to ourselves. The service was not negligent, but it was minimal and not really friendly either. It was a busy night, so we will have grace. But the mussels were delicious. We both had the Provincale, a rich, savory, Mediterranean sauce of tomatoes, garlic and white wine. Bourdain says "never order the mussels", in his Kitchen Confidential book, but here you are safe because they are very popular and the main feature. I've probably said this before and it is worth repeating, they need to up their crusty bread game. The broth is so good and the accompanying bread just doesn't lend itself to bringing the dish to another level, but it could were it better bread. This is a solid and must do restaurant experience when visiting Greenville. It arguably should be the "one" restaurant you must visit in town because of its unique ambiance and unique food & beverage.
