I really wanted to like this brewery. Everything walking in had it going for it. The exterior looked inviting with some custom murals around the building. The interior was rustic and inviting. Service was great. However, none of the beers did it for me. It may just be me as the place was packed and there were plenty of mug club members. I tried 4 beers and none of them I would get again. read more

I came on a early afternoon to pick up some IPAs to go. I was in a hurry so I asked, ordered, payed and left. A few mins after I had left, I came to realize I was just sold 4 cans (12oz each) for 20 dollars total. I was sold the Thomas Creek IPA, which is not even brewed in house but was the only one available to go. I love micro breweries and I've been to plenty, and by plenty, I mean over 100 different microbreweries across the United States and other countries. This is the first time I felt ripped off, I mean, 20 dollars (plus tip) for 4 cans? I felt so stupid that I called Thomas creek to inquire about their prices. Came to realize a 4 pack and a 6 pack of their IPAs are worth between 9-12 dollars TOPS. Needless to say, no matter what the excuse is to charge a customer an excessive amount of money for 4 beers to go, I will not go back, recommend or even purchase any products coming from you guys. This is a gem of a place. Great beer brewed by some really good guys. The beer here is well done. I have been to many micro breweries where maybe they are good at a handful of beer types, but here you can bet that if they made it... its good. and they have a variety of styles. I especially like their Ted Flanders - It's a Tripel and a great one... We have been here numerous times maybe a dozen since finding it... plan to come back often. read more

So, this place is seriously awesome. The staff is all lovely and fun, and they have some serious beers they brew. I really hate IPAs, but their Government Cheese is not only drinkable, but it's delicious! Smooth, and not bitter. Their Coffee for Dinner Porter on tap, however, is more up my alley, and although it's a dark beer, it's smooth and light and I could easily drink that all night. The location might make it hard for them to take off-it's a stand-alone place you need a GPS through a couple backroads to get there, but it's absolutely worth it. It's a private lot and a really funky inside-someone there is a painter and there are pretty murals all over, with lots of light wood. I've only come here once late at night so I didn't get to check out their frisbee golf course out back, but there are plenty of frisbees. There aren't many bars in the area, and this one is truly a gem!!! I intend to become a regular here :) read more

Very disappointed. We are new to the area. We visited this brewery for the first time about a week ago and we had a good experience. So, we decided to return again this week because we live close by and thought it could potentially be a local hangout for us. Well, we were super disappointed. The bartender Raquel, would not move from her register and didn't seem to care about customer experience at all. We literally had to get up out of our seats and walk 6 feet to order a beer while she stood at the register using her cell phone. She would stare blankly at our empty beers and then go back to minding her own business. We actually saw other people have 1 beer, get disappointed with service and the leave. It's unfortunate that one person can ruin the experience of what could be a great place. read more

My fiancé and I stopped by here on our way from Charlotte to Atlanta for his 25th birthday. We were only intending on stopping in, getting one beer, looking around, and leaving. We ended up staying for almost two hours just talking, tasting different beers, and enjoying the incredible atmosphere. We had an absolute blast here and would happily come back. The property is amazing and the people are even better. Breweries with an at-home feel are hard to find, everyone wants to be a huge commercial brand name brewing company. These guys just want to make tasty beer and provide a safe and fun and homey space to drink it in. They've got it right here. I can't wait to come back. read more

Wonderful people! Went for the first time this past Saturday and absolutely loved it. Employees were very welcoming and let us try anything we wanted. Asked how we found out about the place and thanked us multiple times for coming. Didn't realize that they brew everything there as well! 12+ different brews to choose from! Parking available around the far side of the building. Fire pit. Picnic tables and plastic chairs outside. 2 food options: flatbread pizza and wings. Wings are smoked with dry rub, sauces are available. Pizza was good. Good beer selection, if that's your thing. Open air, but patrons don't wear masks. You can social distance. Food service takes a long time because the kitchen space is tiny and there's one cook. Go if you're looking to relax. Leave your high maintenance friends at home. read more

They charge for their brewery stickers, so that's a big negative. It generally guarantees I only buy one beer. Worth checking out. I've been to most the breweries in the Greenville area, and I was wanting to try something new. I searched for new breweries in the area and Golden Grove Brewery appeared. So I called before hand to ask a couple simple questions. Asking if they had outdoor seating, if they had any stouts on tap and if they had food. When an employee answered the phone (I couldn't even say hello, or ask any questions) the response I got was "hey we are super busy what do you want." I work in a fast pace busy work environment and I would never dare to answer the phone that way no matter how busy we are. I was barley able to sneak my questions in and I was given vague responses. I was dying to try something new, and even though I wasn't treated well over the phone my girlfriend and I still went. 20 minutes later when we got there people were seated in the patio, and there was a band out back playing with almost all of the customers out there. There were maybe 2 or 3 people at the bar ordering drinks. Definitely not a busy environment because all the employees (besides the bartender pouring beers) were all drinking beer and hanging out laughing having a great time. Decent beer selection, very laid back scene, but customer service was not that great. I doubt I will go back just because of that reason. I'm a firm believer in giving people second opportunities and not judging off of a first experience, but this one just didn't sit right with me. Especially when all of the employees are drinking and hanging out claiming they are "super busy." read more
