Great food! This is some of the best sushi I have had in the South. The roles were big properly stuffed with fresh ingredients and they were done fairly quickly. The service was really good as well. The prices were really good. The spring rolls were amazing as well. The only thing I did not like about this place is that they didn't have fountain drinks. Instead, they had the bottles and I generally need more than one beverage to finish a meal. As far as I'm concerned that this is the place to go get sushi if you're in Greenville. I have tried a couple of the other places and they don't compare. The restaurant is fairly small and I think it's because most of their customers are takeout, but it's actually a pleasant experience to dine in. read more

We've been looking for a great sushi spot since moving to SC from CA. Tried Aoki Sushi on a Saturday night in December 2025. They were not busy, which was a bit concerning. The food was good, seemed fresh, and the wait staff was attentive. There was a notice taped to the wall in our booth, notifying customers that a 15% gratuity would be automatically added to all orders and 20% gratuity would be added to parties of 6 or more. Didn't really love this, but I figured this is how management passes along the burden of paying employees' wages to the customers. Ordered 3 rolls, the philly, Honeymoon, and Dragon roll for delivery. They really skimped on the portion size / filling amount in the rolls. I've never seen a Philly roll piece so small, about the size of a quarter, that is mostly rice. The Dragon roll was practically missing the avocado as there was about a 1mm slice in each piece, not exaggerating. The honeymoon was ok, did have some spice to it. Some of the best sushi I've had. Never would've expected it to be in a low-key place where it is and simply being called Aoki Sushi. My friend highly recommended it while I visited the area and see why. Came for lunch on a weekday afternoon. It was empty with a few other pairs of people coming in during our visit. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. Jumping straight in I got the Salmon teriyaki roll and the Black Tiger roll. The Black Tiger was Shrimp tempura, avocado inside, white and black sesame seeds sauce on top. Don't know why but this was excellent. It just tasted so fresh. The Salmon teriyaki roll was Grilled salmon, with avocado inside, teriyaki sauce on top. Cooked, so it was nice and warm with each bite of a roll. Something I'm really starting to like when I get rolls. The teriyaki sauce was so good I hardly needed any additional dipping sauce. I ordered some sushi delivered via DoorDash on a whim, and it turned out to be the best sushi I've had in YEARS. I don't even like anything fancy, I always get a couple of shrimp tempura rolls, but I just have not had sushi in a very long time that was better than"okay" or "fine." This place is fantastic. It's definitely a hidden gem, it's in a small strip mall off Woodruff road. Upon entering we were met with a nice server and the sushi chef smiled and waved at us. Was driving past and saw the sign. I had to go in to see if the "Aoki" name was because of Rocky Aoki (founder of Benehana and sports?man) whom I had known long ago. It was not connected at all, but to be sort of polite I ordered some food. It was amazing! Also the service was outstanding (possibly because, between main meal times it was not very busy). I don't like leaving bad reviews Normally I just move on and never go back if I don't like a place. This sushi was just too bad to not write about. I ordered two rolls. I ordered a Mango Tango which consists of boiled shrimp, cucumber, avocado inside and mango on top. That all sounds delicious but it wasn't. The shrimp was so mushy and stringy. It tasted like it was frozen and then not completely thawed out. It was not edible. I was excited to try a new sushi place but ended up so disappointed. I have had a similar sushi roll with mango at Sushi Hana that was delicious. I also ordered a Crunch Scallop roll which consists of smoked salmon and cream cheese inside. It was supposed to have tempura scallops and teriyaki on top. The salmon inside my roll did not taste like smoked salmon. It tasted raw with absolutely no flavor. The scallops were raw. I was pleasantly surprised that their bulgogi was delicious. We've been on the hunt for good bulgogi lately and haven't found a place that was "good" in this area yet!
