Came in with my family I haven't seen in three months ordered a miso ramen along with my wife hers came out mine didn't. Called over the waitress she told me it would be five more minutes and it would come out waited another 45 and then was told again it would take 10 minutes due to the computer system (as a manager of a restaurant myself who also uses Toast I know for certain there was no computer error only human) ordered more food on top of that in hopes I could eat something with my family but ended up having to take it to go. WAS told she would comp the ramen and bring it out but it never came. Was also charged on two more miso soups which never came to the table. Service staff refused to fix this error. Very disappointed, this has been one of my favorite places since I was a kid but this was truly unacceptable. read more

The Bad * The tuna roll had MAYBE 2oz of tuna in it? * The California roll had almost 0 meat in it, just tasted like cucumber and avocado. * The meal came with a ginger salad that was all of one bite. * I got Yakitori (chicken skewers) and it was roughly 3oz of chicken, surely not any more than that. * Prices are HIGH, and you will leave unsatisfied * The quality of the food was fine, but it wasn't strikingly fresh or anything * They ran out of diet pepsi on my first glass.. The best sushi in GVL, hands down. I am hesitant to post this review because I kinda want to keep this place a secret. Other places depend on cream cheese or fancy sauces to make their sushi. This place achieves deliciousness with creative use of fresh ingredients. We always start with mixed tempura, great appetizer for a very reasonable price. My favorite roll is the Greenville roll, but you really can't go wrong. I had a really great meal at Sushi Go recently and would definitely be back to try out more of the menu. I checked in at the new Aloft. I was starving and it was getting late so I knew I needed to head out asap to eat. Sushi Go is right around the corner so I made my way over. I was by myself so I sat at the bar which offers full service food too. My only regret was that I happen to be sitting on the left at the end and was directly under an AC vent. I didn't notice at first because it wasn't on, but it kept kicking on and off to maintain temp and every time it did I was freezing. I love a sampling of eats when I get Japanese food so I ordered a bunch of small items. First was the miso soup which was pretty standard. Next up was the Shrimp Shumai and the Baked Spicy Tuna. The dumplings were great, but the Baked Spicy Tuna really stole the show. It was pretty simple, but still a very unique dish. They take half an avocado and stuff it with tuna, cover it in special sauce and bake the whole thing... definitely try it. I finished up with a crazy roll that came in a soy wrapper as opposed to nori. It was a nice change of pace and I'd recommend it for sure. read more

The food is delicious but the service is absolutely horrible. We all ran out of drinks & the waiter hasn't checked on our table in 20 mins. We were lied to about how many pieces we got in an appetizer. I asked for a fork or kid chop sticks but my 6 year old is still struggling with regular chop sticks. I believe there's only 3 waiters working. Nobody greets you when you walk in, there's no sign telling you to wait to be seated or seat yourself, there's no sanitizer station, the waiter kept pulling his mask down under his chin. While the food was good, I would expect better service for the higher prices. If you come here wear a coat (it's freezing inside), make sure you have no plans to be anywhere fast, bring something to entertain yourself for the long wait ahead. read more

There are about half a dozen sushi restaurants in downtown Greenville, and of all of them, Sushi Go has become my favorite. My latest visit was early on New Years Eve. I took my wife out for sushi, as I almost always do on this date. Our server, Tanya, was top notch, on the ball, and was very jovial. Our apps were delicious as were our entrees. All around just a great experience. I only have two small critiques, and these are quite minor. The seats could be a little more comfy, and if all of the entrees come out at the same time, that would be nice. Other than that, it was another perfect dining experience at Sushi Go! Now for the food. The edamame to start was a few min overdone but still good. The salad was refreshing- iceberg lettuce with a creamy ginger dressing. It was different but I liked it a lot. We got the Tuna, Tuna, Tuna roll, Green Emerald Roll, Greenville Roll, Crunchy King Roll and two specials: Salmon from New Zealand, tuna special. The New Zealand salmon special was awesome but very cold - near frozen cold. The rolls were good. I liked the Green Emerald and the way the cilantro hit you after a few bites. Booked their private room for my birthday dinner and WOWZERS. The food here is just as mouth-watering as it looks in the pictures. The pricing is pretty steep, but SO worth it. Go, Sushi GO! 90% of sushi places I've tried in South Carolina so far have been mediocre, at best. Don't act like I'm the only that does it... People have a tendency to settle when it comes to cheap food-Happens to the best of us... That kind of spongy, forgettable, and sometimes even tasteless experience you tolerate only because, let's face it, you're hungry enough to grab stuff off belts (that looks far better than it tastes) and shovel these pieces into your mouth as quickly as possible to get full and cash out for a couple bucks a plate. Sushi Go is not that kind of hotspot. It's the kind where you actually savor each delectable piece, understanding a quality that rises far above the standard "grab & go" cuisine. It's exquisite, and the service that accompanies it is remarkable. Truly a work of art; a scrumptious, beautiful, flavorful work of art. We had their deluxe combo, as well as some other all stars like Dragon Ball, Philly roll, and tuna. The staff was incredibly attentive, and had great suggestions for those in my party that had never tried sushi before. I have dined extensively in Japan and at every sushi place in Greenville; this is by far the best. I started dining here when the older couple had it... the new owner is more open, and the food has remained consistent. It's a little smaller than most places but has ample room. Outside dining and a large table in the back. A fairly wide offering that is done well. As others have mentioned, the service can be up and down--the turnover, as with other places, is high. But in general, you can't go wrong with this place. read more

I love good Sushi and Sashimi... This is the place for it. Nice atmosphere is a quiet and subdued clean modern look. The menu is substantial with many choices even for a non Sushi guest. In case that is a concern, check out the menu and perhaps you can still enjoy even if your friend, spouse or significant other does not. I had the tuna sashimi and the Bourbon Street roll... both were great, fresh, high quality fish. We also both had the seaweed salad, which I always enjoy. Sushi Go's salad was twice the size of others that I have had. Extra credit for that fact plus it was also good. My waitress recommended a Saki that was delicious. By the way, she made an extraordinary effort to be helpful and she succeeded. All together a great experience. I will go back... That's the best compliment I can pay. read more

Was made to stand for more than 15 min even though there were two open spaces to sit at the bar. I wouldn't mind waiting longer service if you're short on staff. But, really! I've never had a bad experience here. The food is always amazing and they just do a fantastic job at providing high-quality sushi. I typically go on the weekends and always had prompt service. The staff is friendly and checks in to make sure I enjoy my meal. I recommend the avalanche or Godzilla if you want a sweet/savory roll. I like the lunch menu here. You can get sushi combinations and sashimi combinations. The have a sushi special every week in which you can find out about either through their facebook or their instagram. The way in which the cure their salmon makes the salmon taste very good without being tiring or overwhelming from the fish fatty taste. read more
