Wild Ace Pizza, a big ol' sports bar sprawled out like somebody took a factory floor, slapped a sign and a model airpllane on it, and said, "Y'all come on in now!" Concrete floors stretch farther than a gossip trail in July, echoing every clack, shout, and whoop like the place is tryin' to remind you it used to be something industrial. There's TVs everywhere--the whole place hums with people packed in tighter than church pews on Easter Sunday, all chattin', clinkin', and elbowin' their way to a good view. Tables and chairs are nothing fancy, just sturdy enough to handle hot wings, beer mugs, and the occasional enthusiastic fist pound. In the back, a foosball table spins its little plastic fellas like they're runnin' drills for the World Cup. Servers zip around so fast you'd swear they're trainin' for a NASCAR pit crew--dodgin' stumbles, slidin' past barstools, and deliverin' plates with the grace of someone who's done this dance since birth. It ain't cozy, it ain't quiet, but lord have mercy, it's alive. Now their pizza--bless its heart--comes out lookin' mighty hopeful, all round and steamin' like it's fixin' to impress somebody, but the moment you take a bite, you realize it's about as exciting as a layover in an empty airport terminal. The crust's got the personality of a cardboard coaster--flat, polite, and determined not to offend by having any actual flavor. And that Italian sausage? Lawd. Dry as a sermon and somehow even blander than the rest of the pie, like it got all the seasoning scared out of it somewhere over the Midwest. We finally had the chance to eat here a few times. Fortunately, the weather has been nice for those visits, and we were able to sit outside. The service has been equally great at the restaurant as it had doing take out. The con to sitting outside is the smoking by the bar, but otherwise, no complaints. We recently had some friends in town and tried the Margarita Pizza which is super tasty. I highly recommend that one. read more

Super disappointed with the service. Walked in and was greeted and sat down quickly. We came on a Monday and they had a burger lunch special so we tried the burgers. We ordered the pimento cheese burger with tater tots, ace burger with chips, and the pretzel. What an awesome meal for a great price. The pretzel was soft and delicious. It was a very large pretzel. The burgers were outstanding. And the fixings on them provided a beautiful presentation. This place is great! It feels like one of the most happening places in Greer! We had a group of approximately 10 people which they were able to accommodate. After wanting to try this place for about 8 months, Kat and I finally decided to make this place our spot for a Friday dinner date. We came in for dinner at 6pm and this place was slammed, which I consider to be a good sign. We were told it would be about a 30 minute wait, but got lucky and a table cleared up and we were seated immediately. I'm a history buff and know my WWI & WWII planes, but even if I were not I would consider the decor fun and interesting. The restaurant and bar has a wartime aviation theme, and there are large models of planes like the P-51D Mustang, Fokker IX Triplane, Supermarine Spitfire and many more. Speaking of the order, in addition to a full bar (there's a patio bar outside as well), The menu features pizzas, sandwiches, wings, salads, burgers and more. Kat and I are laying off the alcohol this month, so we skipped drinks and just ordered food. Here's the awesome part: THEY OFFER SLICES AT DINNERTIME!!!! where I'm from, pizza places usually only do that at lunch. Very cool. We ordered a slice each, Kat getting the Hawaiian and myself ordering the Chuck Yeager. The slices were monstrous and came out hot, full of toppings and tasted great. We also ordered a dozen wings, which if I'm being honest we're about middle of the road, but we only ordered hot (there are about ten different sauces, some of them looked very interesting), but with wings being so expensive now, I feel like they were fairly priced. We tried the mozzarella sticks to start, and then the P51 Mustang, a philly sandwich with either chicken or steak and the Corsair, a turkey club. What a great pizza option in downtown Greer. I dined here with my son on a random Saturday and was pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza was. We went to Wild Ace for the first time today. I have to say that this was hands down the best pizza I've had in a real long time! We got the cheese pizza with additional feta cheese on top and it was excellent! The crust was cooked to perfection and the sauce was fabulous. So many pizzas we've tried lately have sweet sauce (which we don't like). This sauce is great and seasoned just right! Our server was kind and just the right amount of attentive! Sadly, it's such a hit and miss anymore. They used to have such amazing staff and now I only see 1-2 faces I know. Seems to be a revolving door sadly. Quality of food is a hit and miss. I swear whenever the guy from NY is in the kitchen it's unreal. So good. Then you get other nights where the food is just bad. We had undercooked chicken wings served, and they apologized but still charged me for them. Why? My kids could've been poisoned. Also, the crust on some nights is like cardboard. The quality of ingredients used to be better and they're cutting edges. They should take notes from Kustom Krust, morettis, and della venturas. Beer selection used to be really powerful - now they just go to the old standbys and don't bring in anything new as much. I see a lot of the same. Seems money/profit is more important to them. Worst service ever.. told the manager as I left Went in for a quick slice of pizza.. bartender couldn't be more disinterested in taking my order.. I ordered a slice,15 minute later I asked him and he said he had forgotten. Brought out a slice of completely cold pizza .. not even warm just cold... even cheese. I asked if they could heat it up. They took it back and 20 min later brought out same piece.. totally cold. I was in disbelief.. no apology.. nothing. I have been going to Wild Ace's every Friday for the past few years. As usual, our server was excellent but the kitchen service was horrible!! We got there a little before noon. Our lunch orders took a normal amount of time to come out but I had a to-go order for a cheeseburger that took at least 25-30 minutes, which is unacceptable! I was late getting back to work. Ok so, the food is good, like DELICIOUSLY good. Their wings are pure amazing, and the Parmesan chips with ranch are to die for. I am giving them three stars for their amazing food. But they are losing two stars for their AWFUL customer service. It isn't even worth it to dine in at this restaurant you will be absolutely disappointed. I have gone many times throughout the years, and it just gets worse as if they train them to ignore customers and be rude. That being said, get you some take out or door dash from here!!! I'm not sure who wrote the misinformed review about someone approaching his wife when he got up to go the restroom.. obviously does not know what he's talking about! I'm quite sure he's watched too many Jerry Springer shows or someone told him that story.. next time.. get your facts straight and never believe everything you may have heard! Too late now, but you should retract your review and apologize to the bartender that you accused.. We've been going there for years and love all the bartenders.. they're all awesome and their food is the best around! If something isn't right when your there.. you need to speak up and talk to a manager not give bad reviews on Yelp! We have never had an issue with anyone or the drinks , service or food!
