The pizza here tastes weird. Almost like a pastry crust. It's hard to describe. Using baking terms, it had quite a soggy bottom and was dense. The wings were pretty good though. We got Parmesan garlic and buffalo. The service is fine, however we haven't experienced it much. We only went in the one time, and that was it for us. Went there for dinner. Restaurant was virtually empty during peak Saturday night dinner service. I had the Philly cheese steak, which was nothing to write home about, just pizza toppings thrown onto some bread, topped with mozzarella, and microwaved. The reason we went there was for me to give my intellectually disabled brother a chance to visit with his intellectually disabled childhood friend who had just been hired to work there. He's the sweetest guy you could ever want to meet, and he was so excited to introduce us to his manager and show off his new work place. The manager came out to our table and met all of us and was very nice and had good things to say to us about his new employee. But, after we had finished our dinner and were visiting, one of the teenaged (apparently) workers from the back came to our table to fire their disabled employee because he made a female coworker "uncomfortable." He wouldn't say what the guy had done and went on to say, "We won't need him to come back to work, but you all are certainly welcome as customers." Nice. So the female coworker was uncomfortable enough that the owners didn't want him there to work, but not so uncomfortable that the owners that they didn't want him there if they got to take his money. Now, I don't know what happened. Maybe the guy deserved to be fired, maybe he didn't. We'll never know because the kid refused to tell us what he supposedly did. But there are two things that really burn me up about this and give me reason never to go back: 1. That manager who was so nice when we got there was too cowardly to fire his employee himself. He sent a kid out to do it. 2. Worse, he had his young employee do it very publicly, while we were all sitting in a booth having dinner there. This kid rolled out from behind the counter, stood at our booth, and fired an incredibly sweet, intellectually disabled man in front of his friends, his mother, and the precious few other customers that were there. This is a nice family mom&pop restaurant. The pizza dough is freshly made in house as in sauce which is good. The prices were VERY reasonable as college kids like eating there. It's order the food yourself at the counter and eat cafeteria-style so I didn't feel compelled to tip. I did ask for extra sauce and the pizza was almost dry so that did detract from the experience. read more

I had a grilled chicken salad with mozzarella. Staff were very nice about my wanting to leave ingredients out of it. 2 pool tables, chill atmosphere, kids enjoyed their pizzas. It wasn't busy when we were there. No table service except for them cleaning the table. I had wings and they were good but I'm not a huge wing fan anyway so I cannot comment fully on those. We love Nate's Pizza! We travel from Michigan to visit family here and always have pizza here several times a week. Family misses it when we aren't here. We can't have mozzarella, so order their market veggie pizza without cheese or feta and it's still really good. The subs are really tasty too. read more

Rode out to this place with a few motorcycle friends. Thought we'd stop by to check it out. The only positives would be the friendly service we received from the waiter. The food itself was bland. I had the Chicken Philly with fries for a total of appx $15 The chicken was bland and unseasoned and the peppers didn't have that roasted flavor you'd expect. It seemed like they just put the sandwich together put some cheese on it and ran it through the pizza oven. Just not worth $15 in my opinion. read more

I have been wanting to try this place, but it was a little out of the way until the 290 destruction project. Anyways, we ordered 2 pizzas, with different toppings and when we got home could not initially tell them apart. Not only were the toppings sparce but the actual size of the toppings were small (think 1/8 inch square ham pieces). While there was a decent amount of cheese, it basically covered the barely there sauce. Needless to say, the pizzas were bland and doughy. read more

Best pizza spot in Northern Greenville! Their menu is selectively best for family time, scout meetings out, and even for busy mom's who just like to have a low key stress free night out to skip cooking at home. It's the best when the owner is there or not. The staff are always super sweet! We haven't had a chance to enjoy the outdoor tables and sweet new area but the roadside appeal is the best! When we have the time and out-to-eat budget again our new way is to celebrate birthdays there. The freshly made meals are well thought out to include everything but the kitchen sink ;-) read more

Horrible, horrible!! I had stopped by one day after work to get myself a small pizza. About a week later, I noticed that "Nates" had over charged my credit card about 4 times, totaling about $40.00 for a small pizza which was $13.00. I drove over to "Nates" to confront the manger (owner) to show him all my charges on my bank app. He totally was defensive and asked if I had the "receipt" ( yeah right, a whole week later). I told him , I didnt and why would I be lying about scoping a free pizza or something. I mentioned to him , that he should believe his customers. I am even a local living down the road from his restaurant. He told me to go to my bank instead and let them figure it out. He did say he would research it on his end, wrote down my number to call, to let me know. HE NEVER CALLED ME. I had to call him about it. He said he found one receipt and nothing else. I told him, I would of at least appreciated a phone call, like promised. So , money focused instead of believing a 50 yr woman, who is a veteran. By the way, my bank did go ahead and reimburse me because I have been their customer for 20 years. God help us. read more

This place is GREAT. we just moved to TR and met Tammy a worker at Zaxbys and she had a Nates shirt on and we asked her where it was located and we are so glad that we did. I had the meatball sub and i enjoyed it very much. It was massive and super cheesy. The bread was crispy and meatballs were tender. Sauce was flavorful and I added peppers which was a good call. I would have given 5 stars but food was slow. Took about 30 minutes for two sandwiches and fries. My husband had the Italian sub and it had fresh veggies, lots of cheese and peppers. i have been to Nate's a few times. I live two minutes away....I only use this place as a last resort. The food is mediocre and there always seems to be something that prevents them from either getting my order right or for them having it ready. Do yourself a favor and drive ten minutes into Travelers Rest for better food and service. read more

Pizza was good. The fact that we were the only ones there at 7:30 on a Friday night, should have told us something. The four employees seemed to have more important things to do in the back.
