The Boss, Mt Fuji and Ceviche (right to left) after we started eating!!

We were there weekend of the Kentucky Derby 2025 and it was delicious. Seated right away. Staff was attentive but slowed when got busy. Felt like they were also waiting tables inside Roxy which was very busy. Ambiance is out in front of the Roxy restaurant and if you blink you'll miss it. Small enough that you can watch the chefs without sitting at the counter. The food and drinks were good: Martinis: delicious Sushi: The Boss, Mt Fuji and Ceviche (right to left in the photo) all fresh and delicious If back in Reno we'd go there again. Recommend!

Our favorite sushi in Reno. Freshest fish. Once you come here you can't go back to all you can eat. We love Chef Khoun. We usually just tell him what we like and he makes the most delicious creation for us. We love sitting at the bar and chat with him too.

Excellent sushi. I've eaten in a LOT of sushi restaurants and this was amongst the best. A very extensive menu, high quality, and priced quite reasonably. It's very small, so if it's a busy time of day expect a wait. But, it's worth it. Kudos for actually giving me a substantial amount of extra wasabi instead of skimping like many places do. Highly recommended!

All I can say this might be the best sushi I've ever had. Crouching tiger is the name. The place is small inside the casino so seating is first come first serve. We ended up being sat at the table instead of the bar which was ideal. It was already 1 hr before closing but the servers were not in a hurry for us to finish. We ordered 3 sets of rolls and a miso soup to share which we both loved. The sushi were gone which was a record for us since we don't really finish 3 orders of sushi rolls in one sitting.

Absolutely loved the small vibe of this place. The menu was small which was as actually perfect because you could tell they perfected every roll on the menu. Our server was so sweet. Wish I could remember her name!! Overall loved this place but minus a star for the nigiri.

I always sit on the counter as the chef is very friendly and funny. We always have a fun time with the chef and people sitting next to us on the counter. It is very friendly atmosphere here. And I love the sushi. Thick cut, small rice and fresh sashimi. Sake selection is descent. We like Kyoto sake and even took one bottle back to our room (they'll bag it up for you to take back to your room). Friendly service. I'll highly recommend to sit at the counter if you can.

Fresh, amazing and great quality sushi in the middle of Eldorado. Seriously amazing sushi with great staff.

My wife loves the sashimi platter. I must agree that the fish is fresh and it's served with real crab Cali rolls. I like the outdoor feel of the sushi bar seating here. It's right next to the Eldorado Neptune fountain and Roxy's. The sushi chefs can be engaging if you like. If you want quiet, they will conversate with other patrons. Mixture of couples and single sushi afficandos.

A hidden gem in The Row! We sat at the bar and ordered nigiri, sushi, and drinks - everything was so good! The Salmon Popper roll in particular was delicious. The martini was strong (not too strong), with just a touch of sweet. Great service - would recommend to anyone looking for a quick sushi fix!

Walked in for my very first time. Been walking around the casino and saw this place and decided to give this place a shot So far the calapilar roll is to die for. So so good. The tahoe bottle sparking water is full of sparkle The tibiko nagari was really good. Price is average and food was good. I LOVE SUSHI

Salmon popper. Fresh and yummy. I love jalepenos mixed with fish and cream cheese! Yum!

The time it was just my husband and I was so slow. We also sat down as the second table. They had a full staff and it took the longest. The food is good. I rate the roles at a 3, but note. I like simple sushi. So I tried the rolls just to try and see what they taste like. Its good if you like likes of flavor. It removes what people say is the fishy taste. I love the taste of fish. So I typically lean towards nigiri. I will amdit their sashimi salad as a 5/5. I loved it. I thought we could order 1 per round, but thats not the case. Look at the menu and its once per visit. The salmon hand roll is a 1 for me. It was not very crispy and hard to power through. So I dont recommend that, but they do a roll of it. So if you share with friends it might be worth while. The Niger I rate a 3.5/5. There was a lot of rice, but they also give a good size slice of fish. What got me was it didn't have that crisp taste when I ate it. Its hard to explain. The food quality is good. Don't get me wrong. Just the service and my simple taste buds. Its very popular and many locals love it. The lady was very sweet, when we got to speak with her. So don't let my rating and my taste buds hinder you from eating here. So give them a try.

This long-time Reno favorite is especially popular with the younger crowd due to the South Midtown location. Popularity is its main weakness though as it makes parking a headache, (not an area to leave valuables), and there is almost always a wait, often nearing or exceeding an hour during prime weekend dinners. No reservations. Don't be surprised if you have to wait outside or in your car. Once seated, place fewer large orders instead of many small ones since staff are stretched thin. Conversation can be tough with the loud packed room and music. Sports usually on big screens. Even at the sushi bar, it is not the usual experience. You still order on paper. High bar fridges block the view, and with 6 to 8 chefs working fast, conversation is unlikely. You are there to eat, not watch the craft or make a new friend behind the bar. Fish quality is about as good as AYCE gets in Reno, and the rice is less sugary than most. Nigiri often has the best fish-to-rice ratio in town. Good roll selection, including a Salmon Skin Handroll. Like many spots, some rolls are heavy on eel sauce or mayo, making the fish secondary unless you skip sauce or choose simpler options. The baked mussel appetizer was drenched in sweet sauce and tasted like candy. Surprised there was no mayo on those too. Price is a couple dollars above average local AYCE but worth it if you tolerate the wait, still cheaper than casinos. Monday through Thursday, sake is included. Arguably the best spot in Reno right now, though on a busy night I might pick one of the close seconds if I want to eat quickly. NOTE: It appeared they charged a higher tip than I left, so check your credit card charge a few days later

Upon being seated, we were told to fill out the all-you-can-eat order form as many times as we wanted, which sounded great. I personally don't eat sushi, but I appreciated that they offered protein options like chicken and beef. I ordered a Bento box--simple enough. That's where things started to go downhill. My meal didn't arrive for over 30 minutes, and when it finally did, it was cold. The chicken tasted like pressed meat and was extremely chewy--definitely not what you'd expect from a basic entrée. I wasn't planning to complain, but it became clear the issue wasn't just my order. The other four people in my group were barely being served at all. Meanwhile, tables that were seated after us were receiving multiple rounds of food while we continued waiting. We asked several servers for updates, and each time we were told they'd check on it--only for them to disappear for 10-15 minutes with no follow-up. After spending over two hours there, many of us left hungry and frustrated. I understand places like this may rely on high turnover or tourist traffic, but customer service and basic food quality should still matter. If you're taking the time to read reviews before choosing where to eat, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. And just to top it off--the ice cream was so frozen solid in its pre-staged cup that the spoon couldn't even break through it.

They were doughy and flavorful, still tender not too crispy and just the right size with a great potsticker slightly spicy sauce. We then ordered the Snow mountain roll, the caterpillar and rainbow. We loved the size of the rolls, not too much rice, flavorful, fresh and good. They did an amazing job with the interiors and it has a high-end dining vibe. However, there are several things in the customer service department that needs improvement. First, it's impossible to get a table without a reservation, unless you're willing to wait 20+ minutes. One reason is the chaotic triage process at the front. There isn't enough dedicated space for the waiting area, and as soon as there is more than 1 group, the system implodes. This means that, even if you walk in with a reservation, you get lost in the crowd until the host can effectively sort out who's who. Second, while your order might come out at a reasonable speed, it's impossible to get anything else. The servers are always busy, and every time we have asked for a refill, another roll, a box, etc, we eventually just give up and hope that we aren't charged for something we didn't get. I still find myself coming back since this is the only sushi restaurant that seems to have high quality food and well-balanced flavors. Most places seem to prioritize quantity over quality now. Just be prepared for some glitches in customer service, adjust your expectations, and you can still walk away having eaten a great meal.
