By far the best sushi I had in Chicago! Usually for all you can eat, I don't expect the quality to be as good, but this place exceeded my expectation. The sushi was premium, fresh, and always presented beautifully. Blake, the owner and our server, was super attentive and friendly. Our food came out fast, decorated nicely, and most importantly, tasted so good!! My friends and I will definitely be back again soon! read more

The food was pretty good but it took a really long time to come out. During our 2 hour window of AYCE we didn't get all our food and most of the food came out cold. It took a while for us to get served as well. I hope they can fix that because the food and aesthetics is really nice. read more

Best All you can eat sushi place that I've had in awhile! It can get pretty busy during dinner so I do recommend getting a reservation.

Ordered sushi for delivery and it honestly wasn't anything special. I did their special that includes three rolls, house salad and soup. The fish didn't taste as fresh as other sushi places I've been to, but that explains how I got all that for roughly $15. A great deal, but the quality definitely shows for it. I also ordered the spicy tuna crispy rice, which was definitely my favorite part. Might give them another try in the restaurant, but I think I'd rather spend a little more and get higher quality sushi. read more

Truly premium all you eat. Both the food and ambiance was premium. All the menu items were great from appetizers to the mochi. The service was a perfect combination of kindness and attentiveness. I highly recommend the king kong roll, dragon on fire roll, and ribeye nigiri. read more

The absolute best all you can eat restaurant I've ever been to, and I've been to a handful in multiple states. I came Sunday night around 5:30 and it wasn't too busy and thankfully I was able to get in without a reservation. Tiffany was my waitress and she was awesome. The staff were extremely kind and very welcoming. I love how this is a BYOB spot and they made me feel super special by bringing a bucket of ice (I was alone so it made me feel so much cooler, especially because the wine glass they provided was super cute) I didn't even have to pay a corking fee. Everything I had was delicious and I texted every sushi loving friend that this will be our next night out! (Don't be fooled I got much more Delicious food that was not pictured leaving full and happy!) read more

First heard about this place on IG when I saw their ad and told my friends about it. My friend came here with her fiancé and said they had a great experience so we decided to come here again. They definitely have a ton of variety in terms of apps and sushi rolls. They are definitely really generous with the portion of fish and rice when serving us the nigiri. We ordered a couple rolls just to try out their premium sashimi and thought it was just ok. I feel like they just cover the freshness of the fish with sauces or special preparations for it. I would probably prefer Sushi Taku over PAYCE because of pricing and the sashimi isn't really worth it if I'm forced to order rolls in order to be able to order sashimi. We had reservation for 6pm and by the time we finished eating which was close to 8pm, this place was fully packed on a Thursday night. Not sure if I'll be back, but it's not bad for an AYCE place that offers sashimi as long as you order at least 1 roll. read more

Mediocre at best. Came in last night, around 7pm for some sushi. It wasn't too busy. Got seated right away and proceeded to wait for over an hour to receive our order (6 rolls). However, people who came in AFTER us were receiving their sushi BEFORE us. Sushi tasted ok. Rainbow roll tasted very fishy.. typically that happens when the fish is older so that should tell you about the freshness of the fish. Servers were really nice thought. That's where the 2 stars come from. read more

Overall an excellent AYCE sushi restaurant that I would revisit and recommend to anyone. Service: the service was quick. plates were cleared, waters were refilled, and they always came at the perfect time when we wanted to place another order. Environment: street parking was fairly easy to find on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated but the back dinning room is a little bit dim. Food: huge variety of appetizers, rolls, and nigiri. Quality and presentation were great. Our favorite was the "Dragon on Fire" roll, least favorite was the calamari. Absolutely loved that the menu had photos for most of the items. Price: $23 for lunch was incredibly affordable for all of the options offered. Dinner prices include some steak and sashimi for $10 more; I noticed you have to order one roll of sushi for every sashimi entree you want, so you can't only eat sashimi. read more

Ordered sushi from here twice while visiting Chicago. Both take out orders were impressive with presentation, quality, and taste! Recommend!

Was visiting friends around the area and we decided to stop here for dinner. Didn't have high expectations as it looked like another generic sushi joint. When we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome and given a table pretty quickly. The interior was high end and very eye catching. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ingredients and how friendly the servers were. We ordered many rolls of sushi and service was fairly quick. Food was good. You can't go wrong here. Will definitely be coming back here if I'm in the area again. read more

DO NOT COME HERE WITH A SMALL GROUP DO NOT MAKE AN ONLINE ORDER HERE My girlfriend and I experienced the worst service we ever had at a restaurant. Your table WILL get neglected by a larger party, and you'll be waiting for an hour for your sushi, even if you're just coming to pick up an order. We saw a party of 6 with no reservation get sat first before us when we made a reservation. Had to wait 20 min before we got our table. We saw larger parties who got sat after us get their sushi first while we've been waiting longer to get our first entrees. We weren't even the only couple noticing this either! Many other tables of 2 saw this, and we're upset about it. We saw UberEat/Doordash drivers furiously walk out of the restaurant before they got their order because of how long the orders were taking. And once the food does come out, they'll be sitting in a bag getting cold next to the entrance with no one to eat them, while there are people in the restaurant actually starving for sushi. Someone is definitely losing money, and it's unfortunate for everyone involved. After an hour of waiting, we decided it wasn't worth it to wait any longer for the promise of sushi, and left without paying. This was our first visit to Sushi Payce, and it'll certainly be our last. read more

We had such a wonderful experience here a couple of weeks ago. The owner took care of us when we dined in. He made recommendations and was super accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful and perfect for date night. We loved the ambience. Currently it is BYOB as they don't have their liquor license-no fee! The food was well presented and extremely good. We tried the sashimi salad, spicy Kani salad, spicy scallop nigiri, masago nigiri, crispy spicy tuna, and a lot of sashimi. There was nothing we didn't like!! Will definitely be back! read more

This place was great, my friends discovered it on Tiktok and we decided to come here for lunch. Many of the reviews say that they have to wait a long time but we went and there was barely anyone there so our food came out fast so you just need to find the perfect time to go. Their specialty rolls are on their All you can eat menu and for the $23 special for lunch you are definitely getting your moneys worth if you order enough. The decor was really nice, and staff was friendly. My friend and I loved it and said we would definitely come back if we're ever in Chicago again read more

This is my daughter's favorite place when we visit her. The service is always fantastic and the food is nothing like what we get back home but the price is pretty high. We always get the all you can eat so we can try new things so expect a pretty tall tab when you bring the family read more

I had seen this restaurant multiple times on TikTok and decided to try it out for myself. There were mixed reviews online so I was skeptical but the experience here was absolutely amazing. All of the food was fantastic and the service was great. They explain all of the rules to the AYCE so you get the most out of your experience. We started with a few appetizers any my favorite was the crab Rangoon. The rolls were phenomenal and very big which is usually rare for AYCE places. The phoenix roll was recommended by the waiter and it was my favorite. We ended with the angry dragon and they gave us a complementary mochi for desert! Overall I will definitely be going back here and would highly recommend it, this was the best AYCE sushi I've had in Chicago. read more

An hour and a half waiting for our order. IT'S SUSHI! It shouldn't take this long!!!!

Amazing food, and quality service staff and ambiance, another level, ass well a very respectful and well spaces,

I had been to this sushi restaurant for 10 times, but unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had. First, the quality of the food was shockingly poor compared to 2 years ago. The fish didn't taste fresh at all, and the sushi was taste so bad and Even the rice was mushy and overcooked, which is something I didn't expect from a place specializing in sushi. They charged us extra money for the not fresh sushi. read more

Really good food and pleasant atmosphere, definitely had date night aesthetics without high prices. Only downer was the service was SO slow. Took at least 20 minutes for the waiter to come to our table to take our order and another 30 to bring the food out. Honestly worth ur though, we'll go again read more

Unbelievable experience at this place, and not in a good way... The service was extremely slow and unwelcoming. My wife and I waited nearly 40 minutes before our (first) order was taken, and another hour to place a second once our food arrived. After we had spent 2 hours inside, we decided to follow the lead of other patrons and walk out. Not sure what has happened to this establishment, but the good reviews are a thing of the past. Not worth the money or time. Pick somewhere else. read more

All you can eat lunch is a must at Sushi Payce. For 22.75 per person I was satisfied and then some. The restaurant is clean. Service was great; polite and attentive. The menu allowed for us to try a variety of sushi rolls, appetizers and nigiri. Miso soup was great; lots of tofu and right amount of seaweed bits. Fish was fresh. The crunch on the karage, and tonkatsu was perfect. Best part for me is that they had spam musubi and sesame (mochi) balls. They have a happy hour and sake selection is good. Will definitely be back. read more

Great food. Nice interior design. The server WINN and MIKA is very nice and kind to us. The service is very comforting an, which in top of the beautiful design makes you know you're at an extremely well established restaurant. Thanks! Will be coming back! read more

Food is incredible and worth paying the price. I highly recommend the dinner ayce, which includes sashimi, soft shell crab, and ribeye steak. The mochi, served after consuming all the sushi, was a comforting treat. However, there appears to be a staff shortage, or perhaps they prefer it this way. The staff didn't take our order until 30 minutes after we arrived. And they wouldn't wait a second after serving the order at your table, as they are swamped with orders. read more

Just an awful experience!! Beware. My daughter want to go there for a special occasion and the place was just awful. We arrived at 3:30 and was seated immediately which was nice. Waitress came back about 5 min later and ask if we were ready. We asked for some water and started to order. My daughter was the all you can eat and they refused to sell it to her unless we all ordered it or should would have to sit at a separate table. Really?? All their website says it that you can not share which is understandable. She's and my son in law were the only ones who like sushi and he was getting a storage entree. Very disappointed. But we stayed. Timeline 20 min to get water 10 more before we got our drinks 20 min more before we got two appetizers 15 min more before ones meal was served 15 longer for the second entree (An hour has gone by and now getting food) Daughter ordered an extra sushi rolls (25 min later we get it) No waitress has stopped by to check in us. Had to flag someone down to get more water and soy sauce for the sushi. Just unbelievable. Save your money for somewhere else. We have never had such awful service and will never go back there! They should be ashamed. read more

Cheap fish, tasted gross and not worth it. The appetizers were okay but the rolls were bad

I never write reviews, and I never even think about writing a bad review until today. This was genuinely these worst service I've had, which is a shame because they started out alright and the food was decent. I had a reservation at 6:15, we got there a tad early, we were seated right away and were given menus. We waited for a bit, roughly about 10 minutes, the first time anyone comes by to give us water and greet us. By this time we already knew what we wanted, and we gave them the order slip immediately as we wanted to do the AYCE. The first round of food came out decently fast, maybe 20-25 min after we first get seated. The appetizers were decent and the sushi was delivered on a cute boat, we were feeling pretty alright with the place so far. Sadly, this is where all the good things I have to say run out. We were about finished with the first round of food before I noticed no one has came up to ask us about the food or if we were doing another round. Not a big deal, I'll just ask the waitress to get us another slip so we can order. Another 15 minutes goes by before anyone comes to grab our AYCE slip, multiple waiters passed us maybe 8 times before I asked one over so they can put in our next order. This order was pretty small, literally 4 pieces of nigiri. We waited for 15-20 minutes before our food arrived, not horrible but still not quick, just to see that it was not the right food. The waiter left the table just as fast as he put our food down, we had to wave him over as he was coming back around. We assume that they had brought some other tables' order. Normally getting the wrong order isn't a big deal, but we had already waited for about 30 minutes since we finished the last round of food, mind you all I ordered were 4 pieces of nigiri. We finally get our 4 pieces of nigiri at around 7:25 and I kindly ask if we can get another slip for our last round of AYCE. I already knew the last things we wanted as we had just waited about 40 minutes for 4 pieces of nigiri. The next and final round of food was given to our waiter at 7:27, 3 more pieces of nigiri and a dessert, nothing too crazy. At this point my partner and I are a little annoyed at the lack of service and how long it's taken for the food. We waited again for around 20 minutes only to get the wrong food again, presumably another tables' order, again. I promptly let the waiter know as he passed and he took the food without saying anything. This is the second time we were served the incorrect order, and both times they didn't even acknowledge their mistake. My partner noticed that when they had taken the wrong order off our table, the waiter had brought it over to the bar and gave it to another waiter, which they end up serving to the table right next to us. At this point, we were very annoyed at the service and the fact that we still hadn't received our order. We wait around for another 10 minutes before finally receiving the correct order. At this point, my partner and I just want to leave so we ask for the check right away. We were brought the check extremely promptly just to see that they had included their "18% mandatory gratuity for parties of 5 or more", it was only my partner and I seated at our table. Upon seeing this, we were livid, luckily we always double check our receipts before paying. I inform the waiter about this issue and the bad/lack of service thus far, his response was "oh, this was probably a mistake"...probably??? He grabs the bill and after a few moments, he comes by to give the correct bill without saying another word. I promptly pay and leave. We are firm believers at always giving the benefit of doubt as we also have worked service jobs. We always like to tip, even if the service is less than alright, but we have never experienced service this bad. We spent more than 80% of our time there waiting, when we did get our food, 50% of the time it was wrong, and 0 times did anyone come by to ask us if everything was alright. TLDR - worst service we ever experienced, no one apologized for their mistakes, no one came by to ask us if we were ordering more, almost charged us mandatory 18% gratuity (for parties of 5 or more) read more

better than my first experience. I visited initially because of the pictures of the interior decorations, but left underwhelmed. This second time around, and possibly due to arriving at a less busier time, the waitstaff was more respectful, friendly and attentive. I was brought more napkins without being asked and before I even asked. that attention to detail elevated the experience and makes a guest feel seen and valued. I feel more compelled to tell guests about this establishment and bring them here now read more

I used to go almost every week here the past year. Took a couple months of break and tried again this week. The food wasn't the same. My boyfriend and I frequent Sushi Payce often and we love to order carry out when we are in a pinch! The sushi is always so spectacular!! Highly recommend the spicy tuna crispy rice and the King Kong roll. However, every time we have ordered rolls to-go (4+ times) we are ALWAYS missing something whether is an entire roll, nigiri, or soup/salad. In the past, we have been able to come back to pick the missing item up, but it is a hassle and super frustrating that this keeps happening with no change or apologies. The restaurant staff needs to check all orders completely EACH time or else provide some sort compensation or free rolls for the future. It sucks to not get what you paid for this to be a reoccurring problem. read more
