    Party Tray C
    Wendy L.

I ordered a last minute delivery from Sushi Nova and got their party tray C as a supplement for a small party. This won't be my last time ordering their party trays that's for sure. I was impressed by the quality of the rolls and it was so convenient with the delivery. The tray has a good variety of different rolls, perfect for a get together with friends. All the rolls tasted fresh and were neatly presented. I think one tray is enough for an average of 3-4 adults.

Definitely hits the spot when craving sushi! I went here with my husband and we got hot sake and sushi. Portion size was perfect and the sushi was delicious. We also got one "hot" sushi that was baked and that was my least favorite, but still good flavor.

Thank you Sushi Nova (River North location) for my sushi dinner tonight. I got the Philadelphia Roll and the Rainbow Roll. They were well made, fresh, and tasted spectacular. I have anothere place to add to my fave sushi places list! 5/5

Probably the best AYCE sushi I've had so far. Great tasting and the price is not too bad I think it was $30 a person which is worth it if you have big appetites. It's also super cute in there and quick service. (We purposely ordered enough to get the boat plate, that was our goal LOL!)

We stopped by Sushi Nova the day we moved to Chicago and had a great experience. The service was friendly, the sushi was delicious, and the portions were huge. I loved the inside of the restaurant with its ambient lighting. We loved sitting by the window and watching the city while we ate. It was such a nice welcome to our new home, and we'll definitely be back!

Service was fast and sushi was delicious! Bring at least 4 people so you get enough each round for the boat. I probably ate 5 lbs of sashimi. The also did a great job at accommodating allergies and making sure our allergy free rolls were separated from the rest. This place also had the best early 2000's music. It was seriously the cherry on top. It's a nice, casual restaurant. Loved how many appetizers were included in the AYCE sushi deal. Would definitely come again!

Stopped into Sushi Nova for a quick to-go order and decided to give it a try since they've got a big menu and even an all-you-can-eat option. The service was relatively fast and efficient I was in and out without any issues. Unfortunately, the fish quality just wasn't great. The texture felt a bit off and not as fresh as I'd hoped for. It kind of had that typical "mid-tier sushi spot" feel, plenty of variety, but the overall execution was just okay. For the price, it's fine, you definitely get what you pay for. It's a decent option if you're nearby and want something quick or affordable, but if you're after higher-quality sushi, this probably isn't the place.

    Staple found in sushi

I rarely write reviews. I almost never write a bad review. But this place truly deserves zero stars. They served me a piece of sushi with a very large staple hidden in it. Incredibly dangerous and completely unacceptable. And when I showed them the staple, they hardly had any reaction--as if this were a common, trivial issue they encounter all the time. They took 15% off my $30 bill. I don't think anyone is interested in saving a few bucks at the risk of eating or getting cut by a sharp (and probably very dirty) staple. I would strongly recommend staying away from this restaurant.

Love that there's an AYCE sushi place in the Loop. They have a another location in Lincoln Park too! Typical AYCE sushi app, sushi, and dessert menu (so I got my faves like the shumai, crab rangoon, miso soup, seaweed salad, and a few rolls and tons of nigiri pieces) but also some more unique options like Tuna Avocado Tartare, Carpaccio Samples, Cocount Shrimp, poke bites, etc, and for every roll you order, you can get 3 pieces of sashimi! Nice place for dinner with a group--it's quite spacious. You can catch a sports game on the TV. Also quick service! They have a bar so it is NOT BYOB, though their Lincoln Park location is still BYOB to my knowledge.

    Party Tray C
    Clarissa C.

Didn't get to try the AYCE in store, but my friend got two takeout party trays for her bday!! We had Party Tray A and Party Tray C. Party Tray A includes the spicy kani roll, spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, spicy 2 in 1 roll, and Chicago roll for $41.95 as of July 2025. Party Tray C includes the dragon roll, fire dragon roll, color dragon roll, and angel dragon roll. While all the sushi tasted good besides the one with the wasabi infused ikura on top, it was a bit mushy. Definitely quite affordable though - and you're paying for what you get. I'd get this again for a party just for the price, but meh if I'm paying a la carte per roll.

I wish I wasn't just visiting Chicago so this place was more accessible to me everyday. But I fear i'd go broke if this was in my city. This is a great quick lunch option especially if visiting the zoo/park/beach area. Everything felt light, fresh, and healthy. It felt a little pricey for me but it's Chicago so it may be normal so take that as you will but for how delicious and the amazing ingredients it's worth it. Especially that dang pink sauce on the fries....you've got to get the garlic sauce fries if you check this place out. Some of the most beautiful and tasty fries i've ever had! The 1st that plans ahead and gets to places early. And the 2nd that is there for a good time but always gets everywhere late. Those of us that wanted to come early and not worry decided that we wanted to go to a restaurant close by to wait for our tour time and that's how we found Ema. As soon as we walk inside we see how beautiful and modern the interior looks. They had a lot of seating available and we got a nice table by the window with a view We wanted to eat light before the tour so we shared a bunch of small plates. We ordered the mushroom escargot, lemon Caesar, crispy potatoes, a couple orders of hummus and some chicken kebabs. That mushroom escargot was one of my favorite things I ate during the entire Chicago trip. The mushrooms were creamy and rich. It tasted umami, bright from the lemon, slightly spicy from the Calabrian breadcrumbs, and paired perfectly with some warm pita bread on the side. The hummus was smooth and well seasoned. The lemon caesar was fresh and fairly standard. The crispy potatoes were perfectly textured and were soft and pillowy on the inside. As long as they sat on the table they never lost their crisp. The chicken kebabs were tenderly, juicy and garlicky. We were all putting together our perfect bite combinations with the pita bread. Everything we ordered I would actually order again. Though may want to try a different salad next time since the Caesar was pretty simple. Regardless, still no real complaints with the food Our server was charismatic and funny. He had a great attitude and entertained us throughout the meal. Everything came out promptly as well so we made it out and could take our time walking to the riverboats. Lucky for our friends the tour said they'd be docked for a few minutes after our scheduled start time to set everything up. As 3 minutes after our start time we see group 2 sprinting up from a couple blocks away Overall Ema was consistent, flavorful and reliable. Not a bad price point either for what you get. I'd definitely recommend and come back

They played good music and wasn't too loud. You could easily carry on a conversation or , like me, continue listening to a podcast. By the time I finished, the place was completely full and a bit noisy, but not bad. I started out with a 10oz Birds of Prey Pilsner. It was very nice. Light and crisp and very easy to drink. I followed that up with Melodious Maibock and ordered the CBG burger with fries. I didn't have lunch so I dove right in and forgot to snap a photo. It was a very good smash burger. It was cooked well and I really liked the combination of pickled onion and caramelized onion. I didn't see it until later but you can add bacon. As much as I loved this burger, bacon would totally take it up a notch! I started chatting with the bartender about their different beers and decided to have the Super Melodious Jalapeño Maibock with the burger. It's soooo different, but in a good way. It paired so well with the burger. You get green bell pepper on the nose and a hint of it on the palate. When you swallow you get a little heat at the back of the throat. It was so good! Great bar. Great food. Great beer. Go check them out!
