House Salad -- no rating A salad is a salad. But I was a little disappointed that the dressing was watery, so I barely touched it. Service was really good from the moment we walked in. The place itself is pretty basic. Everything's kind of open, nothing fancy, but the quality of everything we had was really, really good, so I commend them for that. My only gripe: it was SO hot in there. This was late July, and I don't know if it's the open kitchen or something else going on, but the ventilation absolutely sucks. They had a bunch of fans going and you could tell they were trying, but it was way too hot. Being hungover, I was hoping to cool down before standing in the sun at a concert for the next 9 hours, and it made it hard to fully enjoy everything. Maybe just work on some AC at this point. Definitely coming back. I'm already planning on going back to Warped Tour next year, so Sushi Mafia, you may see me again.

What I found out immediately was Burmese Brewed Latte, I ordered the BBL with a salted vanilla cream top. When I asked what it was exactly they told me it was a brewed black tea sweetened with cream and sweetened condensed milk. So I immediately was like ooooh, kinda like vietnamese coffee meets milk tea? And they were like sorta. The best way I can describe it is kind of like an iced tea with a cream foam topper?? I don't drink a lot of boba, but it's not as sweet, which I prefer. You can really still taste the tea which is so, so good. The foam itself is very light, and not overly vanilla-flavored. Just enough to make it creamy, but truly let the tea stand out. I didn't taste the salt at first, and then I got a piece in a sip and it was like a delightful little pop of flavor. That only happened a couple of times, but was so yum, otherwise the salt was just there to mellow out the sweetness, like melty vanilla ice cream. I feel like I'm going to be thinking about this tea all week until they come back next Tuesday. HTUNS will be popping up inside Blue Bird Sushi every Tuesday morning the rest of this month. They also plan to bring in breakfast as soon as next month. She said it wouldn't be traditional American breakfast, and I said good, that's the point! I'm not sure I've ever truly had Burmese food, so this has me extremely excited. I googled what a traditional Burmese breakfast might look like, and wow I can't wait to see what menu they pull together for this. My mouth is watering already! I haven't traveled that far east, so I was curious about where Burma was exactly. The closest other countries surrounding it are China, India, and Thailand. Vietnam is not far away either. I wish the server pointed out the different fishes/flavors for the tasting dishes. We had to figure it out by looking back at the menu each time. And even though we had a reservation, it didn't really feel like an anniversary dinner since it was not acknowledged or celebrated. It was a very casual environment. Overall, good experience. Hope to be back again!

Stumbled upon this place while driving down second street with some friends. It was a quiet Sunday night and they appeared to be fairly new so we decided to stop in to try it out! As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by such friendly staff and seated right away. The first thing that caught my eyes was the Black Snapper! I don't know many restaurants that carry it so I knew I had to try it. So I ended up getting the chefs 8piece sushi combo with an order of Black Snapper Sushi and our table shared the Albacore Delight Roll and the Hot Night Roll. The 8 piece sushi came with 2 pieces each of Salmon, Tuna, Yellowtail, and Albacore and your choice of miso soup or salad. The sushi, including the Black Snapper, was SUPER SUPER fresh and had the perfect rice to fish ratio. I was a little skeptical at first due to the high prices, but the quality of the fish was completely worth the price! Will definitely be back to try the Sashimi next. As for the rolls, they were all cut beautifully and had the perfect amount of sauce. I know some places like to drench their rolls in various sauces to hide the quality of the ingredients, but the rolls were completely balanced and delicious~ The overall atmosphere was super cosy and my friends and I were able to enjoy our meal with some good draft beer too! We all enjoyed our time there and can't wait to go back to try some other stuff on their menu! Totally worth a visit if you're in the area~ read more

@Sushi is a cool sushi spot in Long Beach. Its corner location makes it easily accessible, and it's just a block away from the beach. There can be a wait at times, but the delicious food makes it worth it. My favorite appetizer is their garlic spicy edamame--spicy and delicious. I also love their spider roll, which features soft shell crab. The service is great, with staff frequently checking in on you. If you get to sit by the window, you can enjoy some people-watching, which makes for a fun time. I highly recommend this spot if you're into sushi. read more

And I like how they have the utensils, chopsticks, napkins already pre-packaged so it's easy to include in to-go orders.
