    12. Combination Sushi kani salad spicy

Sushi king is a decent sushi restaurant. We love their spicy kani salad, it is definitely their best thing on the menu. We also love their friend dumplings. Have a love hate relationship for their rice, sushi rice especially. Some days it is good and some days not. The couple that runs the restaurant is so cute and sweet.

Definitely a small cozy sushi place that makes feel at home when I was there at least, love the vibe, very mom and pop. Very patient service since my friend with me took forever to order and asked questions and surprisingly so polite and answered anything straight forward with respect. Plus I do appreciate they make sure they have order right a few times by asking. Always nice to have such detail. Now the food, miso soup was alright I mean glad it was scolding hot. The spicy Korean ramen , despite some may being just instant ramen with extra steps was good, plenty of noodles and I love the bits of egg and green onion. I noticed it's the most popular dish here considering all the other tables I noticed had it as well. Also the ramen was right spicy , not overkill and it's a mouth inferno. The West Point rolls, let me tell the rolls here are pretty damn big, I mean mine was stuffed, definitely not cheap on fish for sure. The taste was great, but man trying to eat massive roll with chopsticks and it not breaking apart was pretty funny. Overall a nice mom and pop sushi place I rarely see. This being second place I know of like that.

Nice people who run this restaurant. Other than that the food was mediocre. Sushi was sloppy and they made it way too spicy (without us ordering it like that). We ordered 4 different special rolls and they were all similar with barely any variation. Will not be going back. Rolls were so big and loose they fell apart. Spicy tuna on top got hotter and hotter with every bite. Very disappointed. My husband picked off all the spicy tuna to try eating as much of the sushi as he could.

I ordered the bulgolgi. It was good. The price wasn't bad. The service was a little awkward fro the start. When I called to place my pick up order, I thought I called the wrong place because the woman who picked up didn't identify that I called a restaurant nor did she seem very friendly to take my order over the phone. When I showed up to pick up the order, the service was a little better. The guy asked if I wanted kimchi when I ordered an item from the menu that included kimchi, so that confused me a little. The kimchi was good. I will probably try other Korean dishes here. If it wasn't for the awkward service I would probably give them 5 stars. I haven't tried the sushi so I can't speak for it.

Great place. Only takes cash!!! So that sucks but sushi is good, and seems like a very legitimate place.

Food is very good. Sashimi is fresh. If you ask for Kim chi they will give you. Be sure to bring cash as they do not take credit cards.

From the moment we stepped inside Kpot, Kasey went above and beyond with service; she was so very kind and accommodating. Without prompting, she immediately created a space for me to keep my wheelchair safe and accessible without it being in the way at our table, which is always something I have to worry about myself when I go anywhere. I have dietary restrictions and she was very enthusiastic and willing to swap out the BBQ trays multiple times as needed. I never once felt like it was a bother. It was my loved one's birthday, and when we told Kasey, she completely understood the assignment. She made sure that we were having a wonderful time, was ninja-like in making sure our unused dishes were out of the way, she made wonderful, positive conversation that helped make our entire table feel welcomed + relaxed like we were old friends, and she had the most excellent timing with bringing out a surprise birthday treat at the end of our visit! I have never felt like a staff member at any place of business, no matter how wonderful they were otherwise, was as sincerely invested in making our experience unforgettable as Kasey was. at Kpot. Kpot is incredibly fortunate to have found such a warm, bright human being to work there. We went on a Saturday, and when any of us ever return in the future, we will absolutely be sure to come on Saturday again in hopes of having Kasey as our host again! The food itself was very good, and the value cannot be understated. It's a great bang-for-your-buck! Once you pay for the hotpot/bbq, you also have access to a variety of food by the sauce bar. (I specifically got some chicken wings and French fries and dipped them in the delicious chili sauce!) Every one at my table had very positive reviews of their food (which were, of course, only bolstered by their raving about Kasey! Seriously, I cannot overstate how this review is glowing because of her, haha! We all agreed that we will be coming back again, in a large part due to the service; KPot has found itself four loyal customers because of her. ) The food being brought to the table was also very timely. There were no delays and everything came right out, fresh from the kitchen. Absolutely nothing tasted bad or off. The atmosphere inside of the restaurant is pretty conducive to feeling social and open, yet perfectly private for your party. It feels like a really good spot to catch up with friends you haven't seen in a while, or to celebrate special occasions with a small group. I do also wanna mention how convenient it was to get food. They give you an iPad with names and pictures of all the food items. It is extremely easy and intuitive to use, and it's probably the best means of ordering food I've had at a buffet-style place. Very hygienic and timely! I truly cannot overstate how the excellent service made our experience as amazing as it was. The food is great and Kpot itself is, of course, quite nice, but the service elevated it into the position of being my FIRST choice when it comes to dining out with multiple people again. I wholeheartedly recommend dining here, if not for the insane value you get in terms of food, then absolutely for the excellent service -- be sure to come on a Saturday so that you're more likely to have such a wonderful, warm and professional person providing your service! Endless thanks, again, to Kasey. You made this experience what it was, and as someone who does not get to see my loved ones for occasions like this often, it means the world to me that we had such incredible service from someone that made everything feel special. I am so glad that we chose here as our birthday dinner spot.

The selection was impressive, with thinly sliced beef, pork, seafood, vegetables, noodles, and a variety of sides to customize each bite. The meats were fresh and tender, cooking quickly on the grill. The hot pot broth was rich and comforting, especially when loaded with vegetables, noodles, and your favorite proteins that you can choose from! One of the highlights was being able to switch between grilling and hot pot throughout the meal. The endless options kept things exciting, and every combination tasted different. The seafood was fresh, the vegetables crisp, and the noodles soaked up all the delicious broth flavors. (You add $5 if you want both) For drinks, I got Piña Colada and tried their bubble tea as well, Matt got Coconut mojito. (The server heard Coke and Mojito she immediately change it and apologized) The thing I don't like and could possibly improve is their appetizer, sauce and salad area. Sauce were good but apps only has few selection, like chicken nuggets, fries, etc. and looks like it has been sitting there. Nuggets were rubbery. Ambiance was okay, not that much people when we came in around 5. Place seems nice as well. But other than that it was a delicious feast from start to finish, with plenty of variety and something for everyone. Come hungry because you'll definitely leave full and happy! :)

And our meal came with soup, miyeok guk (traditional Korean seaweed soup). I love this soup; it's usually served on birthdays to celebrate life, so you don't usually find this in other Korean restaurants. It's light and savory. The single hostess wasn't necessarily unpleasant but looked rather listless on her phone while we made our orders with her. I got the Jeyook Bokkeum (spicy pork) with purple rice. Can't really complain; it wasn't incredible, but it wasn't bad either. Banchan (side dishes) were decidedly average, however. We ordered the black sesame ice cream but halfway while eating it, we realized it wasn't actually black sesame (or at least didn't taste like it). Disappointing, but not enough to fully ruin the experience. Prices weren't great considering the quality of the food or location, but not prohibitive either. Considering the paucity of Asian food in Middletown, I'll give Seoul Sizzle a pass, but against greater competition, it probably wouldn't have lasted long in NYC.
