I had the Sushi regular which is an assortment, but surprisingly, the thing that stood out the most was the California Roll- not sure why, but it was the best I have ever had. The fish was good too. We usually enjoy this restaurant however this night the waitress was extremely rude. She kept calling us "honey" which is inappropriate. The restaurant wasnt especially busy but it seems that they were dealing with delivery orders and had little time for the restaurant patrons. We asked about one of the dishes as my friend is allergic to gluten. The waitress was very bothered by our question. The food was good. But the service was terrible. Excellent meal and experience when we ate lunch there last month. Service, cleanliness, quality & taste of menu items, excellent food. However, ordering out is not a good idea. Not the same attention to detail or anything close to the take out menu. One dish was 90% iceberg lettuce, 2 tiny pieces of carrot, two small triangles of barely ripe tomato, one piece of cucumber and 3 very thinly sliced avocado. The ginger dressing was ok. This is the Avocado Salad. Not acceptable at all as takeout, much less sit down fare. I do like the Spicy Crunch Crab Salad, they are still good as takeout. 7/11/25. Haven't been here for a while, so we thought we'd try it again. The staff is very pleasant and cordial; no rush to turn tables. Tried an ice cold Sapporo before the meal. Much more refreshing than my usual Coke. Ordered the shrimp teriyaki bento, comes with miso soup or salad. My friend had the sushi/sashimi lunch. The soup was good and the salad well drained. Most places don't bother using a salad spinner; the dressing gets watered down. =( The shrimp were cooked to perfection. Not curled up little hockey pucks. The Vegetables were al dente, not close to baby food mush. Her sushi/sashimi meal was tasty. The proteins were fresh, no fishy smell. The prices won't break the bank. Speaking of the Bank; you can use Chase's Wi-Fi. The decor is low-key and sort of romantic. They were high chairs. We made a good choice today. read more

Askari Sushi is the place to go for Sushi in Fishkill. Lovely small restaurant on Merrit Boulevard. We ordered take out, so, can't say much about the atmosphere! As for the food, it was excellent. Fresh, copious and delicious rolls. We ordered 4 rolls and it ended up being way too much. The Fujiyama Roll with eel avocado and pepper tuna was huge and delicious, will order again. The ratio of rice to fish is fantastic, very little rice! Yes! They have an extensive menu, also lots of specials rolls. Crazy Roll was on point, Spicy Tuna,shrimp Tempura, avocado, white tuna, tobiko and scallion with some yum sauce. Fantastic roll also delish, the chef definitely gives your money's worth with the fish. We also had a Hudson roll and a Fantastic roll. We have lunch for tomorrow. One word, TRY them, you won't be sorry. As you can see by the pictures , they are huge rolls. Prices are also good. We did wait long, our order was ready within 5 minutes of pick up. read more

We went to the Akari II in Fishkill. We ordered the steamed shrimp shumai and pork wasabi wrapped shumai. Both were great. All 3 rolls and a sushi appetizer were delicious. Very fresh and great presentation. The service is on point and very friendly. Although the place is small and looks more like a takeout restaurant it is very clean and we will definitely be back. read more

Been to Akari one and had to try the second location. So placed a to go order and let me say they all were very polite and friendly while I placed my order and made sure it 100% right and give me a time to come back to collect it. So after the wait, it was bagged and ready for me, also thanked me for ordering. The akari roll was best of my two rolls, plenty of meat, lightly sauced and overall a great bite. For the fire mountain, it was stacked, great crunchy shrimp tempura, and grilled shrimp and spicy tuna on top, only thing I wish they had back on the tempura crisps on top, since the roll was bit messy to eat it whole and had to eat the top to reach the rest. Yeah sounded weird, but still delicious. Definitely I like this akari more than the original one, but I will say both locations are kind of hidden gems where they located. Also I do think that was pretty cool they drink cooler at counter when you enter the place, so you got a good idea beforehand on what to drink outside of mixed drinks and fountain soda. read more

We had a lovely lunch at Akari 2. The fish was very fresh. The wait staff was excellent. Environment was clean and hospitable. Our lunch came to 42.00. we shared 15 pieces of sashimi and a tuna avocado roll. There was toro available and they integrated a piece into our platter at our request for a small extra charge.
