    "I don't know" roll

Best sushi in town! I have been coming here for almost 8 years and Chef Donnie surprises us with his sushi, talent, and flavors! Please try this place if you can. Best sushi I've ever had!

This is a small, home vibe sushi place where tables are close together but the sushi bar is visible from all seating. There is some seating at the sushi bar as well. The place always looks closed because of the window shades but indeed, it's open. Service is good and quick. It seems to be a small staff of a husband and wife and a sushi chef. The food was good. Fresh and tasty. My only disappointment was the thickness of the sushi on top. Unevenly cut in thin/thickness. Much too thick for me and not sliced in sushi tradition. (Seems similar to other comments in the reviews). Food options on the menu include sushi and other traditional Asian dishes offering a variety. We went for sushi and only ordered sushi. Because of flavor, location, and convenience, we would give it another try.

This is a standard Japanese sushi restaurant in a row of other little food venues. Customer service was standard. The two individuals who appeared to be the owners gave off a frenetic vibe and not interactive with customers. The taste of the fish was good, but the cuts were too thick. When I mentioned that my tuna was too dry and bland, the server returned with a plate of four slices of two cuts of tuna. It was better, and I really appreciated the effort. The eel was almost burned. The plating of my chirashi sushi was unusual. I didn't notice the rice, hidden in the bottom half of the plate under the greens. The miso soup was sub-par, having almost no flavor. The Alaska roll was very good; the California roll had too much crab mix and not enough avocado.

Me and my husband were a bit hesitant about trying this place because we were not sure how authentic it was but, this place really surprised us and in a GOOD way! First: We were greeted by a very cute waitress Lydia. She made us feel very welcomed and even helped me decide on a sushi roll. HUBBY ordered the Steak bento and I kept STEALING some of his TEMPURA because it was so good! I told Lydia that I liked seared salmon and she recommended the LION KING roll which was also one of my favorite movies! Interlude: It's the CIRCLE of LIFE and it moves us all! And now back to our regularly scheduled YELP REVIEW. So after eating the steak bento and lion king roll we thought we'd like to try something else too so we ordered the Tempura UDON! I really liked it. I usually eat foods on the salty side so I just added some soy sauce and that really hit the spot for me! Plus the chili flakes :) Thanks so much to Lydia's great service and Sushi Camp's delicious foods. We will be back to try more items :) Cheers!!

I was surprised to discover that this restaurant serves great sushi! Don't be fooled by the modest name, lol. We ordered The X-Men, Crunch Roll, the roll with the baked salmon (forgot the name), raw salmon roll, and side of sweet potato shrimp tempura. Everything was delicious! We are temporarily living right across the street, so we'll be coming back again soon! Free parking on the lot. Easy access.

We've been to most of the restaurants in this center. Somehow we overlooked Sushi Camp. They've been here at least 15 years. Busy place on Friday night. We walked im at the right time and got a table for four right away. We started off with yellow fin which was the best ever. Went on to a dragon roll which was good also. Our friends had a lobster roll and a dynamite roll. We ended with a mixed tempura. Good service and the food was delicious. We'll definitely be back to try out some more.

Priciest yet AVERAGE sushi in town! Ordered: 1x I love Lobster Roll 1x Caterpillar Roll 1x Philadelphia Roll 1x Seaweed salad 2x fried rice (single serving) Total: $90.20 (Not including tip) Got it inflation. Serving sizes need to be a little bigger for that kind of money. Taste was standard for the rolls I ordered. Nothing amazing.

We finally got to try this place. Being new in town, we try to hit all the places closest to us first. It's always a treat to find amazing eateries down the street from your home It was about an hour before closing when we got a sudden craving for sushi! We came in and the place is nice half full. Good sign. We got a nice young waitress who was helpful in answering our questions about certain rolls. We gave her our order and the food came out quickly. It was very good. Unfortunately, they forgot to prepare a couple of things and when we realized that they didn't bring it out, the sushi chefs were cleaning up and didn't want to go through the trouble of making mire food. Our waitress seemed frustrated with them as I could see them arguing. Luckily, we were full anyways and no harm was done But... I still can't give them more than 3-stars when they don't fulfill our original order. Two items were forgotten. The food was fresh and tasty though.

No soy sauce needed. Softshell crab and spicy salmon hand roll. If you get a chance to try their soft shell crab, do it. The hand rolls were on the smaller side but what's on the inside was quality fish. Don't miss out on this hole on the wall sushi spot. The sushi itself was mediocre. The fish was ok, kids said they liked their rolls but you can't go wrong with rolls, right? The amount of ginger and wasabi they provided was ridiculous. Price for the quality is ridiculous. It was a Saturday night at 6pm and the place was empty. This place used to be so busy! That should've been a red flag when we walked in. This is coming from someone that has 6years of experience as a waitress, part of that working in a sushi restaurant. The staff was very unkind to my mother for having a gluten allergy. They stated that she cannot have the rice because of having gluten in it?? My mom react to the soy sauce, we have not had a problem with the sushi rice from this location. The tone that the first male server gave was giving "this is an inconvenience" so by stating the rice claim, almost to get us to leave all together. Then he says he will have all the rolls not have any sauce on top which was nice of him to offer. Then we had female waitress, Kelly, who we tried to ask a a question as she was passing. I watched her sit a table, clean a table, place a check before coming back to answer our question. (All I understand) until she walks by our table and pretends not to look at us. So I have to stop her again because one of the roles had a sauce on top. So I asked her if the sauce had gluten in it. Again. (2nd time I asked this question from her passing by twice) she acted as if this was a new question, and was trying to walk away. She assured the sauce does have gluten. So I told her that we already explained to the male sever that we cannot have gluten in the sauces. We kept that roll for the gluten people and order another roll for my mom to eat. She then asks us for another round of tea and brings us a teapot of just hot water.... Overall, I cannot stand when servers make you feel like an inconvenience. The Hana sushi staff by chaparral on Winchester is MUCH FRIENDLIER we are regulars to both locations. After this encounter, we all agreed we will make it a point to only go to the Winchester location as they are very kind and attentive to my mother's allergies.

When we were seated, we asked for a high chair three separate times before one was finally brought to our table. The high chair turned out to be too small for our son, so we asked if we could use a booster seat on the end chair instead. The server seemed hesitant, mentioning she wasn't sure she'd be able to get by the chair. We said that was fine and instead placed the booster seat between my wife and me. After struggling to get our son comfortable, we eventually realized the booster seat has two different height settings depending on which side is facing down. It would have been helpful if that had been pointed out when it was brought to the table. Throughout the meal, our server seemed distracted and wasn't around very often. Our food was brought out by other staff members, which isn't necessarily a problem by itself, but combined with the lack of check-ins it made the service feel disconnected. The biggest disappointment came when I took my son outside while we waited. The benches, chairs, and handrails in the waiting area were covered in bird droppings. There were spider webs in multiple places, and the entrance to the restaurant itself looked dirty. I understand the restaurant is going for an old harbor or fishing-boat atmosphere, but there's a big difference between rustic and neglected. Instead of feeling charming or nautical, it felt like years of dirt and grime had simply been left in place. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but basic cleanliness and attentive service are things I expect from any restaurant, especially when dining with a young child. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback because the restaurant has potential, but our experience left us with little desire to return.
