Wish I could rank even lower, I have never been treated worse !!!!
Let me preface this review with the fact that my wife and I have eaten at Sushi Brokers for 6 years (a little better than average sushi and less than a mile away from my house), but apparently they are under new management (Devon and Evan) and I will never step foot in this restaurant again, and hope with all my heart that it goes down in flames. My wife (who is 30 weeks pregnant) and I went to eat there tonight with our 22 month old child. We were seated by the hostess, after about 10 minutes the waitress took our drink order, after another 5 minutes the waitress took our food order, we then waited another 10 minutes for our food to arrive. Just after our food was set down one of the "new" managers Devon approached our table and asked us to leave, as they are converting to a more"adult"/ "bar setting" and do not serve families with small children. I was flabbergasted, after sitting for 25 minutes the manager had the gall to ask us to leave just after our food was set down. Of course he prefaced it with the fact that he has a young daughter and understands how it is hard to control a small child.
A little about my girl. She is used to going out to eat, we dine out 2-3 X week, and while I would not bring her to a fine dining restaurant she is definitely not an audible terror. We always pick up after her, and she does not scream/cause a ruckus, and if she became disruptive we would remove her from the restaurant. Before we started popping out babies we ate out 4-5 times a week. We understand a child can create havoc in a restaurant and ruin the dining experience of other patrons.
In my younger days I would have knocked this clown Devon on his ass; however, being a tad more mature I asked him to explain what the hell he was talking about. He stated, "We kinda have a new policy, where we do not want small children in the restaurant as it ruins the environment." I barely heard this explanation over the pumping House music that pervades this establishment, but apparently my toddler laughing and playing with her stuffed animals, and eating her puffs is disruptive???? He went on to say how he was really sorry but he needed us to leave. Nowhere is it displayed, written, or explained that they are an "adult establishment;" I mean they are not Shinbay!!! The hostess, 2 waitresses, and the busser all interacted with us during our 25 minute wait and no one said anything to us about the "kinda new" policies.
After enjoying a much better dining experience at the Parlor where the waitress complimented us on our well-behaved child, I called Devon at the super-exclusive Sushi Brokers for a better explanation of his horrible management technique. He admitted that there is no signage, verbal display of this "kinda new policy" but that he was working on getting a sign placed. When asked why we were not informed of this policy by the hostess or waitress, he stated that everyone knows about it and should have said something. I went onto question why it took him so long to inform us- he stated the restaurant was really busy and he was helping out the wait staff (there were like 20 people in the restaurant). He again felt the need to tell me he has a young daughter too????
I understand that restaurants change management /policies and some managers are good while others are shit, but come on if you do not want young children in your restaurant, post a sign and tell your staff!!!! We should have been told when we got to the restaurant but no, we were told 25 minutes after sitting down and right after our food arrived!!!!!
PLEASE AVOID THIS ROTTEN ESTABLISHMENT
