I wish I could give this place a 0. My partner and I walk in to an empty restaurant with 4 workers behind the sushi bar. The sign said, "Please wait to be seated". We stood there for around 4-5 minutes and no one came to seat us and we did not even get greeted. No welcome in, we'll be right with you, just blank stares from the workers behind the bar. We decided to walked out. We have been here one time before and the service and food were amateur. We wanted to give it another try and now we will for sure not be back. read more

Shrimp fried rice $13 ($6 for rice and $7 for TWO shrimp!!) We asked about the price compared to the amount of shrimp and the server immediately went to get the manager. The manager came over and explained the price of shrimp is more expensive these days and there is truly only TWO shrimp in an order of shrimp fried rice. Um, what? I can get a shrimp taco at the restaurant next door for $3.50 and it has more than TWO shrimp. This place is a joke due to the price to quality ratio and the service that tries to pacify patrons rather than heed constructive feedback I honestly don't think this location will last without immediate intervention. read more

Service: 2 Appetizers: 2 Entrees: 5 I'll start with the good stuff. The food here was really great. The fish tasted very high quality and I was very pleased with the nigiri and rolls we ordered. Everything leading up to the sushi however was disappointing. We did wait around 30 mins to get sat but it was a Friday night and we had a large party so that was understandable. The appetizers were pretty disappointing. We got the lettuce cups which just weren't that good compared to some other places, and the gyoza was okay. The service was not great. We had to ask for more napkins and silverware for everyone and more plates. They forgot a spoon for our lettuce cups. They didn't refill our waters the whole time, once right before we got the bill. They were slow at cleaning up the dirty appetizer plates and all of our menus sat at the edge of the table for our entire meal. The bill was over $80 for me and my husband and for that price point I would have really expected better service. I am glad the sushi was good quality though. You are doing that part right. But for me the experience is just as important and if the service were better, this place would have been 5 stars. read more

The food quality, presentation and ambience at Sushi Brokers has consistently been excellent. Being creatures of habit, we opted once again for salted edamame and a roll each of the signature items "Damn Good" and "Sunshine". Tonight's dining experience, however, was made soooo much more memorably exquisite by the superlative efforts of Kenzie Z., our server. Genuinely sweet, adorable in both charm and presence, Kenzie did her absolute best to augment our dining experience. read more

Great service, great food. Our server was very attentive and we had a great celebratory dinner for my daughter's birthday. Highly recommend.

Decent place but the sushi is just ok We ordered 4 or 5 different roles and they all tasted the same. It was happy hour and roles were $2 off. Not sure if that meant they weren't as good. They were also very crowded and took a long time, so maybe that was it. I've had much better sushi. read more

I was served raw fish in my sushi... it's supposed to be fried. The out side of it was fried but some how the fish wasn't? Never have I seen fried Las Vegas roll with raw fish. And I got 2 of these rolls which were 17 each and both came raw. So it's definitely just how they make their food if both came raw I suppose. So do I have to keep in mind when I get fried anything here it's comes raw? Maybe I had to ask for it be double fried? I'm confused on was fried means at this establishment. read more

We got the surf & turf with the damn good roll. Soooooo bomb! Great vibe for a lunch date. Our server was Allison was awesome. read more

Way over priced, more like "sushi broke her." Really not worth the price, very small portions (thin small rolls). Won't be back!

I didn't expect the sushi to be this good, especially in Arizona, but every piece tastes like butter! The sushi is so fresh and amazing and they have a wide variety to choose from. They get 4 stars because our server seemed like she really didn't want to be there at all. I know everyone has their bad days, I mean I have them too, but as a server you have to have some type of pleasantness to you, or am I wrong? Overall, I enjoyed my experience and after 4 sake shots, I was feeling pretty happy. Cheers! read more

sushi is so good but i have never once had good service here unfortunately. sushi is pretty expensive too. i love the menu though

The sushi was good but took them awhile to come out, and the portions were kinda small compared to other sushi places I've been to. The Yummy, California Club, and Cowboy roll were really good!! They also play football on the TVs :) read more

95% of the specialty rolls are basically California rolls. They all have crab mix in them as the main ingredient. The only two decent rolls are the cowgirl with spicy tuna and cowboy with spicy yellowtail. All the specialty rolls are also $16+. So you will love it here if you like crab mix and California rolls. read more

Being from Seattle and raised in a family owner Seafood shop makes me hard to please when it comes to anything seafood related. These people were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The service was excellent and the prices were fair. Dinner for two with appetizers 6 plates of rolls and large pear sake $120 so very reasonable. Their sake also quite good, and cold which is how it should be served. Definitely be back! read more

okay, so IDK what the deal is but the quality and taste of this sushi spot is prolly the worst I've ever had. Or could it be from my cultured palate knowing what quality real sushi is? I guess I shouldn't have been surprised given the fact that AZ is no where near water. Nice that we got indoor seating during the COVID lockdown so I was looking forward to this experience but the food was a bit disappointing. I ordered all sushi rolls while the rest of my party ordered the katsu burger & hand rolls. Perhaps next time I should try their fusions foods instead of their sushi. Might be more tasty as their sign does say fusion. read more

Do I want to leave bad reviews during this hard time, no. I do want to acknowledge that we have been trying to support local restaurants during COVID. We ordered our meal from Door Dash and we use Door Dash about 10 times a week. This is what our Sushi came looking like. Very unacceptable considering you are a Sushi restaurant. Would you serve this in person? If I was the chef, I would be disappointed in my staff. We won't be returning or ordering from here again. Not worth the $80.00. I will add in the door dash notes I said please add cream cheese and eel sauce. Please charge me extra for this! read more

Was excited for happy hour but. I would hardly call it that. Not much of a price difference. The food was lack luster and left us wanting more. Service was mid and everyone seemed upset to be there crab ragoons were good tho read more

Sushi is me and my husband's love language, and we know good sushi when we taste it. Not only did they have incredible sushi but the edamame with garlic sauce was to die for, the service was incredible and the atmosphere was def date night approved. We had such and incredible time. We loved everything we ordered from apps to sushi and everything in between, we ended up bringing friends and not only did they love the food but they enjoyed the vibes as well. Def a good place to go for vibes, food and a great night out. read more

Absolutely love the sushi here. Best sushi I've ever had in my opinion. Happy hour has great deals and the vibe is nice. We love the Las Vegas rolls, cow boy and cow girl, and the chimichanga. The service has been very hit or miss, but the sushi makes it worth it! One time we came for lunch on a Saturday and they were closed at 12 pm without any signs or notice in their website / google, so we call before we go in to make sure they're open. read more

Sushi brokers is going downhill. Very sad because this used to be our go to place for Sushi. Food is good but not what it used to be. Service poor maybe due to understaffing. Been coming here for 4 years and I don't know if I'll be back. Saw a few recent posters on yelp who had the same experience recently. read more

Huge Sushi fans here- it's is our go-to for date night so we definitely have our favorite spots! We visited the Sushi Brokers Gilbert location shortly after visiting the Arcadia location and having a GREAT experience! Sadly, not the same outcome this time. We visited on a Saturday night- was surprised to see that it wasn't too busy... we ordered a couple of cocktails, service was slow but overall unremarkable. Server wasn't very attentive and we were often left with empty drinks and needing water refilled. My husband and I also ordered a miso soup each and a handful of specialty rolls. The rolls lacked luster... they were not very tightly rolled, seemed a bit novice, the tuna itself was not as fresh as other locations but not horrid. What really shocked us is when we received the bill and found that our tiny bowls of Miso soup were $7 each! I have never ever seen a bowl of Miso for over $2... unless you're getting a large family size- which in that case, at our typical go-to spot is still only $6. And trust me when I say the Miso was nothing special- tiny pieces of tofu and seaweed- just the usual- enough for maybe 5-10 slurps. Was a total ripoff! Overall, not a place I would recommend for sushi. Seems like a box to check for an option in downtown Gilbert- if this is your ONLY option I guess it wouldn't be horrible. But there are so many better sushi spots in town. read more

The sushi is actually really great here. The unfortunate part is they are extremely short staffed. They even had a sign out front saying something along the lines of "long wait times due to being short staffed" and that was certainly the case. We sat at the sushi bar because we thought it would be faster and easier on the staff. It was actually the opposite. No one took our order for the first 20 min. We asked for cokes and had to remind them 15 min later we'd like our drinks. It took about 20 min to get someone to accept our order. We got one roll 10 min later which was great. The remaining 3 rolls we ordered took over 45 min. We were there for over an hour and a half for just 4 rolls. The only redeeming quality was that the sushi is very good and the staff are super nice, they are clearly running on a skeleton crew and very stressed out. I don't blame them, this is for sure a management issue. read more

Have to update. Unfortunately I hate having to post this review but it is definitely warranted. This location has had its ups and downs since Covid. Today put the last nail in the coffin to produce this review. We showed up today for Father's Day. No hostess as the line grew. The sushi chefs were busy staying up on orders and seemed to keep heads down until it was obvious there was no support. One chef took it upon him self to come out and give guidance to everyone to find a place to sit. Five minutes later still no hostess or service staff. And the queue grew. This was our first time we decided to leave. This is definitely a culture issue and management needs to get a hold of this. I wouldn't expect this location to stay in business for another year. read more

Came by on a Tuesday night and it wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. We ordered a few rolls and drinks. Our favs of the night were the hot lips roll, the del sol and the lollipops. All the rolls had less rice which was a plus! We also tried the damn good roll and it was an interesting combo with the chipotle sauce. Will def be back, maybe next time for the reverse happy hour! read more

Came here for dinner and place is clean and sushi was tasty. The Las Vegas roll and Tootsie roll were my favorite from the bunch. The price of the rolls seemed on the higher end compared to other sushi restaurants nearby. I ordered Udon Noodles assuming it was going to be in some soup and it came in a bowl dry. Luckily I love udon that much, so all I needed was some soy sauce and eel sauce to mix in with the noodles to make them edible. Not my favorite sushi restaurant but left satisfied. read more

First let me say that the food is great. Like 5 star for the sunshine roll for sure... that said I almost couldnt eat today. They have mold growing on the bar mats. This makes me question the cleanliness of everything there. You have to let it sit wet for a long time to get mold. Wont be able to eat there again until they get everything cleaned up and a good health inspection. read more

Coming from San Francisco (and a huge sushi fan) I went in with a craving for sushi and had only mediocre expectations (my husbands even lower). We were very pleasantly surprised. Juan (the chef at the sushi counter) was so engaging and gave us great recommendations. We ended up getting the cowgirl roll and the 12 piece nigiri. All of the pieces were very fresh and well crafted, especially the salmon and yellowtail. Juan was a delight walking us through each piece and chatting with us. We'll definitely be back! read more

Enjoyed a good lunch today. We had the Bento box tempura, the Bento box sushi, and the sashimi salad. All were tasty, especially the salad which was fairly spicy but good. The rice used in the California roll was dried out but otherwise everything came out just right. They do not post their prices on the website or the lunch menu. According to our server, the lunch menu is not posted because it cannot be ordered for take out. So it's posted with menu photos. read more

Service is not good as they are slow and don't listen to the details of your order... my review is based on multiple dinning ins . Food is is also not good anymore ... it used to be fresh and good .. I got the sashimi salad which the lemons on top still had the price stickers on... also they are great on adding itemized charges.. review the invoice before paying . read more

The Sushi is very good. However, there always seems to be issues with other items there. We spent $80 on lunch. We ordered a House Salad for $8.50, it was supposed to have cucumbers and carrots along with greens. It came with 4 thinly sliced cucumbers and greens only. The portions of Edamame were small and it was supposed to have light salt but there was none. The wait time was almost 15 mins to get a food order in, so if you have plenty of time, you should be okay. The bartender and waiter had zero personality and when asked about the missing carrots, he said 'sorry buddy'. He did come back to say the greens they ordered didn't have carrots. The manager was advised and she said they had other carrots in the back and she'd be sure everyone knew that. I know this all seems trivial but when spending 80 bucks for lunch, the principle of getting short-changed just seems wrong. We asked for some hot sauce and was given a small plastic cup full which costs $1. You'd think they would've traded it for the missing carrots! If they want to stay in business, they need to pay attention to detail, and they need to make sure a customer has a "wow" experience. read more

We have dined at this restaurant in the past and we were very happy. Unfortunately Sushi Brokers is not what it used to be. Our server was very nice. But I guess the kitchen was understaffed. It took quite a bit of time for food to come out and it did not appear to even be busy. This sushi spot is more expensive than most in the East Valley outside of Scottsdale. But in our previous experience the quality was really good. However, this time we felt the quality was very sub par. One roll we ordered, the Surfer roll- the shrimp was extremely over cooked and was like rubber. Sadly, will be some time before we return. read more
