Great little hole in the wall. We stopped by here a couple months ago just out of curiosity. There is only a few tables taken on a Tuesday during dinner time. Server was prompt, and the food was delivered pretty quickly. Everything we had tasted delicious and was fresh. I recently brought some coworkers in for lunch on the company dime. And they loved it! We will definitely be back when we are in the local area. The owners are super sweet and you could tell they really care about their business. Plus the bear theme is adorable.

This is our favorite Friday night sushi spot! Our go to are Shrimp Killer, Sunrise, Put your Hands Up, Hot Night. The service is always great even when it packed in there and there are only two people waiting tables. We lost this spot and will keep it on rotation as a favorite date night location

Cute clean restaurant with a sushi bar. Extensive menu with something for everyone. The restaurant wasn't too busy on a Saturday night. Just one party in front of us. The restaurant has ample seating with tables in addition to the sushi bar. Wait staff were friendly and the service was good overall. The bento and salmon bowl we ordered were good and comparable to other Japanese restaurants. I ordered the special blue crab and uni bowl. It was fresh and good quality, but portion was small. Prices here are higher than the average Japanese restaurant in LA. The overall quality is good though. I would come back and try other items from their large menu selection.

So many delicious sushi rolls! It was tough to just pick one, but we went with the Tiger Roll, and it was excellent, as were the baked green muscles. I love that they serve you a little bowl cinnamon sugar chips while you wait for your plates. There's so much more that we want to try next time! Just keep in mind that they close at 2pm, and reopen at 5pm for dinner. Also, their restroom, while clean, is not in the best shape. The tank lid anyway.

    Our plates were empty sorry

Wow so good. Food was amazing. Service was excellent. Cute little place to eat sushi in Tustin.

We were looking for a restaurant earlier in the week that's open late and this was convenient to us and had some good reviews. The rolls were decent but the soft shell crab appetizer had too much breading for my liking and the miso soup was watered down.

definitely worth the price! my boyfriend and i were making an impromptu date since i'm leaving for canada and won't be back till next week. randomly found this spot on google and since we were both craving sushi, thought to give it a try his bento lunch combo and my aloha roll came out to $55 + tip, so be prepared to spend some cash when you come to this upscale spot! tucked away on mcfadden, you can almost miss it. very hole in the wall with amazing promise. definitely will be back again!

Sushi bear is a hidden gem that I highly recommend if your around the area The ambiance is super laid back with a lot of seats so that won't be an issue . The restaurant is located in a fairly large shopping center so parking shouldn't be an issue . The service is also on point . They were very helpful especially considering this was my girlfriends and mine first time trying this location but overall check them two thumbs up!

We stopped by about an hour before closing. It was pretty empty, which made us hesitate at first -- but we're so glad we decided to go in! We ordered the Dragon Ball Z and the Burning Sensation rolls, and both were delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned. I especially loved the smokiness in the Burning Sensation -- a unique touch I don't usually find at sushi restaurants. As a bonus, the complimentary chips were a nice surprise. They had a light cinnamon sweetness that made them quite addictive. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be coming back!

My coworkers and I wanted to try a new place for lunch. We came during the middle of the week. There was one large party there and we were the only other group. It made me a little nervous because I chose this place. My coworkers ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, shrimp killer sushi roll and chicken udon stirfry. I wanted to try their bento box with two items which included sesame chicken and takoyaki. It also came with miso soup and salad, which was your classic garden salad you get out of a bag and nothing special. The Takoyaki balls were OK and the chicken was just not that tasty. I enjoy rice, but I didn't even like the taste or quality of the white rice. My coworker asked for spicy chili oil to go with the Ramen. We found out afterwards that it was not included and charged $3 for a teaspoon size. Sorry to say, but we will not be putting this place on our lunch rotation.

TLDR: solid 4.5 sushi it's on my rotation! Been doing this working out while fasted and I am usually hella starving around 1pm. Had to find some good and local sushi. Yelp to the rescue This was def the best option as most were closing in 30 min and I wasn't about to be rushed to eat sushi. Arrived and walked in and I was the only person there. Loved having the attention of the sushi chefs all to myself. It was almost like omakase as they they served me whatever they thought I'd like. And I liked everything they set in front of me. My favorite was the halibut! Ofcourse a post workout beer for ya boy! Orion beer brings me back to Okinawa and the good times I had. Not just for the nostalgia but Beer for me is a great litmus test for good sushi. I can tell if the sushi is good or bad cuz the beer brings out this odd metallic flavor that crappy fish tends to have. The fish and sushi tasted amazing with the beer! On top of the amazing sushi the chefs behind the counter are awesome! They can chat your ear off.

The assorted tempura was good, they had a lot of variety and I enjoyed the mushroom, asparagus, and potato! The shrimp tempura portion is very generous in size and was good. A little overpriced for what it is, but if you love this assortment of fried tempura, it is overall good to try! The filet katsu don was amazing, and I like that it came with a small bowl of miso soup! It's always nice to have that as a complimentary side dish. The katsu was crispy and complimented well by the sauce! I'd highly recommend this dish! And now for the star of the show... the soba flight! This was so fun to go through and I highly recommend it just for the experience! My personal favorite was the one that included enoki mushroom on the topping. Definitely would recommend trying Tanakaya if you haven't already! I'd definitely come back.

I had expected the business to be in a more high volume area, however a benefit of their corner spot was that the parking lot had plenty of spaces. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor tables were set up along the north and east perimeters of the building. I was by myself at this latest visit, and it was close to the end of the day so the inventory was quite depleted. There was no line at all which was not a surprise. The famous Strawberry Croissants and prepackaged items were on refrigerated display to the left when you walked in. As the service counter rounded a corner, there were more fresh baked goods on display before you reached a register. Across from the registers were shelves containing bags of fresh bread products. I bought a Strawberry Croissant, a Sticky Bun, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, and an Apple Croissant. The quality of the pastry dough was very good, and I could see why the Strawberry Croissant was a favorite with the customers. The croissants were light and flakey, and the powdered sugar added a delicate topping to the strawberry version. If I were to rate on just the Strawberry Croissant, then it would be five stars. My overall rating was downgraded because of the customer traffic flow. The lines can be optimized so that if you wanted to buy a six-pack of the Strawberry Croissants and/or anything prepackaged, then a separate queue should be arranged for those customers. The cafeteria trays were of limited use if you were not getting a large number of items. As you advanced in the queue, other products had to be requested from a worker behind the counter and then those were not placed on the tray. Ultimately, I think they can configure the operation to more efficiently handle the higher volume periods of the day.
