Was one of our go-to places when it was fairly new in the neighborhood - with a small space for dining-in, good lunch bento boxes. Decided to give it a try again for pick-up. Ambiance is not the same though. Could be more appealing to customers. Got a free roll offered, but ordered by phone (couldn't add it online). The lunch bento-boxes were still ok - the portions and for the prices.

Typical fast food sushi restaurant. Order from a vast menu of different rolls, special rolls, tempura, rice, dish options. Food came out pretty fast, reasonable pricing.

I had a terrible experience with my takeout order. All the dishes I got: Salmon don (slices of salmon sashimi over a bed of rice), Marinated Tako (slices of octopus), Salmon Teriyaki bento. I ate the bento, and few pieces of the salmon and they were alright. For the salmon don, it was weird balance of salmon to rice ratio. I didn't enjoy the dish because I felt like there was too much rice. The salmon teriyaki was just alright- on the drier side. The real bad: I also decided to treat myself to an ikura and avocado handroll. I should've smelled my food before tasting it. I took a big bite, and within seconds the smell and taste hit me, and I had to throw up. It was spoiled ikura and i took another whiff and definitely confirmed the putrid smell. I was so scarred, I could not eat anymore. Later that night, I felt really sick. Moral of the story: smell your food before you eat something.

So amazing! Highly recommend if you are in the area. For 30$ for 6 rolls, you can not beat it!

We called in a sushi platter order though we had to repeat our order a few times to make sure the person heard correctly. When you first walk in to the restaurant, you question how fresh the food would be since it isn't like the brightly decorated Japanese restaurants. This is a small, homey, neighborhood Japanese sushi place with reasonable prices. We went to pick up sushi rolls platter. The restaurant was still putting it together which we didn't mind waiting. Everyone enjoyed it. The platter was almost all gone compared to the other food offered. Give it a chance though you might want to make sure your order is correct.

This is one of those sushi places that is run by Chinese immigrants. If you have eaten at these types of places you know what to expect. The food is not exactly authentic tasting but it is cheap. Like most of these types of places, they serve stuff like california rolls, chicken teriyaki, udon and tempura. For these sort of restaurants , this place is slightly above average. The place inside is very clean with a mostly wooden interior and several wooden tables, with waiter service. They also have a very cheap lunch special. For $5.15, you can get a lunch entree that comes with miso soup and salad. For the entree you can choose among several things, like a combination of several sushi rolls, or the chicken teriyaki (which also comes with a california roll).

Great place for amazing sushi! The menu is so extensive today I picked two sushi (1) firecracker roll which included tuna, crunch, eel sauce, spicy mayo, shrimp tempura, crabmeat, cucumber, avocado; (2) HEART ATTACK: spicy salmon, spicy mayo sauce with soft shell crab and spicy tuna and avocado. Both choices were delicious, great presentation! The service was excellent ! Due to COVID19 there is no indoor dining but you can order ahead and pick up or order while you are outside the restaurant and then go around the neighborhood while you wait for your order. There are plenty of stores to visit while your order is being prepared. I most definitely recommend this place for your sushi cravings!

Pretty solid rolls. Kind of tiny overall but tastes good enough to order again. Ordered on Seamless and got here pretty quickly.

Ok place. Food is mediocre. Platter is not crazy. But service is fine. Small and homey.

Intimate setting where you can really enjoy your dinner and company and also get to know the owners. Family owned and taken care of very well. All the food here is fresh and delicious and creative. Not your standard NYC Japanese restaurant but they take care to all their dishes. Highlights were the special tofu dish and toro salad. Tempura were all made well and not oily. Great katsu and anything on the sushi menu was divine. Love the toro, yellowtail, and sea urchin. Can't go wrong with either the nigiri or sashimi choices. A wonderful alcohol selection as well with special items i've never seen before but very refreshing were the green tea beer and the yuzu beer. A gem in forest hills and a must try. Definitely a repeat go to place and wonderful place in the neighborhood.

First of all, we couldn't find the place because there is no signage. I guess that's part of the "charm"? But literally when we found it we didn't even know if the place was open. The gates were down, the windows were basically covered and nothing about the place was welcoming. We realized they were in fact open so we approached the door. We were greeted by a piece of paper stating "reservations only". We entered anyway and the place was EMPTY. There was one couple seated but other than that the place was EMPTY. The hostess approached us and I asked her if we needed a reservation and she said we did. So we said ok we'll come back another time and then she said, " well since it's pretty quiet tonight we can seat you." We should have left. We were in there for about an hour give or take and no one else came in at all. At all. Anyways, we ordered our food. I ordered the sashimi plate and my husband ordered a couple rolls. We also ordered the crab and avocado salad and the hamachi kama. Everything was basic. Nothing was amazing...oh except the price of the hamachi kama. Menu said market price and I get it, that means the price will fluctuate accordingly, but $60 for the hamachi kama? I almost fell off my chair when the bill came. I have eaten at very high end sushi restaurants and am almost 50 years old. I have never had a $60 hamachi kama. This one wasn't even tasty!!! It was not good or flavorful. Tasted like they just defrosted and microwaved it. I was wondering why i kept hearing a microwave go off but realized after the fact that that's what they must have done. I did not complain. We paid the bill. We left. Later that night I had stomach issues. Nicest way I can put that. I will say that i ate almost nothing that day so I can only attribute the stomach issues to the sushi. Needless to say we will not be back.
