Sticking with 5 stars! The original chef is back and you can tell! So happy they have the steel cut oats back- and the pepitas garnish is so good. Great coffee! Great brunch!

Supper was superb! We came for San Antonio Restaurant Weeks and it did not disappoint. The outdoor seating has a spectacular view of the Riverwalk/ Pearl. The service was super friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place but it is expensive

This spot is one of my beloved's & I's favorite little date-night restaurants. We started with a delicious beat/veggie starter, as well as a squash & pumpkin seed soup, both were delicious. Then our mains were a Duck Confit plate & Branzino fish, both were awesome. We had a wonderful server named Joy too! And she definitely delivered Joy & sweetness by being a gracious, kind, & knowledgeable server. We love Supper!!

We love the Hotel Emma. It's such a pretty hotel. Went here on a Saturday and had a great time. Both the service and the food were great! I had the steak and eggs. The portions were satisfying. I'll definitely be back to try more.

This place is gorgeous. Billy, our server, was so wonderful. He cared deeply about our service and was very careful about us being vegetarian. The vegetarian options were out of this world. The chef paid so much attention to our needs. I could not have asked for a better experience.

We had such a great experience at Supper at the Pearl! Our waitress, Mercedes, was amazing and took great care of us. After our lunch, she brought out the most delicious lattes that were the perfect finish to our meal. I ordered the wagyu burger and it was incredible, and the brussels sprouts were also so good! It was a beautiful day and we initially wanted to sit outside, but it was a little too breezy, so the team kindly accommodated us inside where it was cozy and comfortable. Overall, everything was delicious and the service made it even better. We'll definitely be back!

The ambiance of the restaurant was great. I love the old school classy. I also loved the complimentary valet. We had a 7pm reservation. We arrived at 650 and we were seated around 710. The restaurant was busy and there was a wedding reception at the back. It took the server 15 mins to address us for a drink and then to take our order We finally received our 6 oysters 45 mins into our visit. The oysters were really tasty It took another 45 mins for our meal to arrive. Our server was very apologetic and kept saying our food was coming out soon which it didn't. She did comp my mum some brut but for me this was just too much. I dont know how much is OK to handle My mums Lamb was delicious and also the side of beets and the fries with bearnaise I ordered the quail. It was a fried chicken style dish in a pot bowl thing. Which was very hard to eat from. You couldn't tell what was what. It was very delicious but soon got sickening from the grease. I love fried chicken but I expected it to be plated better and maybe a.bit more balanced Desserts came out quickly as the busyness died down. We ordered the banana mousse and white chocolate brulee. They were nice but too sweet so it was hard to finish

I have wanted to try Supper for a while and as we needed a location for a breakfast meeting today it was one of the few places open on a Monday so we gave it a go and glad we did ! Great service throughout and it's a beautiful space - also has an outdoor patio overlooking the river which was be lovely on a cooler day. Also loved the fact that it has the lovely signature Hotel Emma scent which smells amazing but subtle enough that it does not overpower a meal! I had their avocado and lox toast - everything here is very well priced and it was really good - needed ( and this is unusual for me to write ) just a touch of salt to add some more flavor but it was very good and very fresh! Will absolutely return here for cocktails and dinner!

Came here for a work event. Located inside Hotel Emma. Looked absolutely beautiful and classy inside as one would expect. We had a prie fix menu to order from which consisted of salad, an entree and dessert. I got the wedge salad, NY strip steak and peaches and cream creme brulee. The wedge salad was a little disappointing. It was a bit too salty and just doused in too much blue cheese dressing. The steak was decent but unfortunately, they only cooked it to medium. The peaches and cream was phenomenal. Not too sweet and right balance of peach flavor to custard. Service was exceptional throughout the entire night.

Stuffed quail $34. (5.24.2025)

"Supper" was an impeccable choice for supper while we stayed at Hotel Emma. I made reservations for 8:15 pm on 5.24.2025. While there was an unusually long pause getting to our table, that along with a really loud drunk lady a few tables from us proved to be the only hiccups. Otherwise, our service from waitress Shen and others was exceptional. We ordered: + Prohibition Punch mocktail $10 (my youngest loved this) + Tropical Paradise mocktail $10 (my oldest thought hers was slightly better and I tended to agree) + Smoked Martini $14 - I have never made this and must find out how to soon. It was delicious. + Shrimp cocktail $26 - there were 5 so of course each of my girls got 2. + Stuffed quail $34 - my pre-teen girls each got their own plates and ate theirs right up! Their first time having quail too. + Tracy's truffle risotto $32 - this was a wonderfully comforting meal. This is a white linens restaurant, but I saw many folks dressed rather casually. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 5 | Price: 4

Service was exceptional! They quickly accommodated a group of 8. We went for brunch and stayed for a couple of hours. We never felt rushed. My food tasted good but my bread was a bit tough. I ended up hurting my jaw by dislodging it. This has never happened before. Again, the food was very good.

Great experience all around. Was quickly seated, staff are super friendly helpful. The food was delicious I am definitely coming back. A must eat while in the pearl or walking down the river walk.

Overall: Really enjoyed Magpie and would definitely come back!…read more Parking: Easy parking, which is always a plus. We didn't have any trouble finding a spot. Reservations: Made reservations online and the process was super easy. I'd recommend reserving ahead since the restaurant is on the smaller side. Service: Friendly, attentive staff. Everyone was welcoming and helpful throughout the meal. No complaints here. Ambiance: Cute, intimate spot that works really well for a date night. The restaurant is pretty small, though, and can feel a little crowded. We were seated next to the cashier area & felt less intimate. Food: vegetarian review Really good overall, especially if you like creative/seasonal dishes. We're vegetarian and had some good options. Tofu dish: AMAZING -- definitely the standout of the meal. lemon Pasta: Much better than expected and really flavorful. salad: Tried one of the new salads and the fennel was SO good. Fresh and nicely done. Price: A little pricey, but I thought the quality was worth it. We spent around $75 for two people without dessert, which felt reasonable for the quality and type of restaurant. Vegetarian-friendly: Definitely doable for vegetarians, although the options are more limited than at a vegetarian restaurant. Overall: Really enjoyed our dinner. Great food, friendly service, and a nice intimate atmosphere for a date night. The small/crowded space is my only real negative. Would definitely try Magpie again!

We made a connection even though it was temporary he provided me with a level of comfort, relax me. The type of expectation that you expect from the culinary Institute, you are catching people at the start of their careers when they're excited, enthusiastic, and sincerely want to do their best. It was five star service. Michelin star restaurant. I am a very organic person and down to Earth and I appreciate a server that I can talk to and who is not so formal that it becomes unpleasant, the server remaining professional. I highly recommend if you're in the pearl district of San Antonio, Texas please give Savor a try.

This review I dug up is from a while ago, things may have changed…read more February 2020 was my first time at Savor (CIA) restaurant in the Pearl complex of San Antonio. By going on a Wednesday (around 7:30 PM) we were able to find parking and be seated without a reservation, but I recommend planning ahead other nights as the area gets very busy (and noting their hours). It was a pretty compact space, no lighting issues, but also quite noisy. My companion and I had to concentrate on each other to carry on conversation. We each ordered the four course menu, which lets you pick one of an item from each course, and I added a wine flight. We each took a bite of each other's food for maximum exploration. Keep in mind this is a training restaurant, and part of the proceeds go toward culinary scholarships. I can distill the experience into three points: The food was very good, the chefs-in-training are talented; The wine flight was disappointing; The server was warm but still in need of training. Dishes I got to try include the Hamachi Crudo, Steamed Blue Mussels, Tartar Brulee, Strip Sirloin, Grilled Pork Tenderloin and Belly, and Chocolate Souffle. The Hamachi was excellent, as were the mussels with potatoes and garlic (someone didn't share her chorizo with me). The main course strip sirloin was also excellent, and better than the grilled pork I chose. The steak was tender and moist. I gravitate toward pork belly items, but this pork was a tad dry. The chocolate souffle wowed my partner, but I found the cocoa note not to be to my liking, perhaps too bitter. I should add that the plates are quite small, so you may not leave full if you're very hungry. Before going into the negative, let me say the food was a fun experience, and I'd go back for another multi-course meal, or to explore the bar bites menu. The wine flight was a letdown, as it was small pours of mild wine, served with two word descriptions, one of which was plain wrong. I don't drink much wine, but I've had enough to know that these wines were probably chosen to be the least offensive. A small pour of a bold drink can have quite some value, but the small pours exacerbated the boringness. The wine service largely informs my opinion the server needs improvement/was likely early on her training rotation. I also had to plate swap with my companion when I was served her mussels. People trying and improving are to be expected at a training or test kitchen, so I appreciate her effort and ability to keep my water glass at least half full. We ended up being quite happy with the food and experience, which was good overall as a date night, but could've been better with a revamp of the wine pairing, or me electing not to have wine. I can't see myself going on my own given the price point of the courses, but I like to treat my partner. I'd recommend it if you're curious about the budding chefs or specific menu items, but be wary of the wine flight.

We also had the snapper throats and loved them. The aioli was a great sauce with them. I had the gulf catch of the day, which was grouper, and it was so good. Great seasoning, perfectly flaky and moist, a nice crust on the outside. With that we had some jalapeno corn bread which was also delicious. Not too dry at all. I was hoping for it to be spicy but it was not. For dessert, I gad panna cotta and it was a great ending. Not too sweet, but the berries made up for that. The lavender meringue bites had a great crunch. Our server (Maya) was excellent. She was so friendly and helpful. Finally, the decor is unmatched anywhere. It used to be a brewery and they kept the old pipes and valves, which look very cool. It has a great vibe. I highly recommend. Without the need to, I'll mention anyway that it's not cheap. But it's worth it.

Overall: 4.6/5 [dine in]…read more Phenomenal service from start to finish. They were able to seat us on the patio as a walk in on a Saturday night, checked in to offer us a spot by the fireplace when it opened up, kept our water filled throughout the night, and even asked how we wanted our food served. Little touches like that really make a difference. They also brought out complimentary ciabatta bread when we were first seated and then without us asking, brought a fresh batch after our appetizer. The second round was better, with a nice crispy edge that made that satisfying crunch when you squeezed it. Really good with the butter, though if the butter had been just a little saltier it would have been perfect. Beef Carpaccio ($32): Good but average. The individual components were all there but the dish felt like it was missing cohesion. The black sesame parmesan tuiles were a standout though. Georges Bank Seared Sea Scallop ($49): Three huge scallops cooked phenomenally. The mushroom risotto was a bit al dente and on the saltier side, and the mushroom flavor didn't come through as much as I would have liked. The squid ink beurre blanc was lovely though and really brought the dish together. Despite the risotto I would still order this again just for those scallops. Duck and Foie Gras ($46): The duck was cooked beautifully and the foie gras wasn't too heavy, just the right amount. I loved the strawberry arugula salad that came with it. The pairing worked really well overall. I personally didn't think butternut squash was the right puree choice but my husband disagreed and absolutely loved this dish. Foucher Sancerre Rosé ($15 glass): I am usually not a fan of rosé because of how dry they tend to be, but this one was not bad. It tasted much better when paired with food. August Riesling ($12 glass): A yummy, sweet drink that is refreshing and easy to drink. I had to pace myself or I would have finished it before the main courses even came out.

The waiter greeted us and gave us the option to order from their regular menu or the menu made specifically for Restaurant Week. We went with the edited menu and had an assortment of starters with the tostadas and the wedge salad being the top picks. Our main entrees consisted of the shrimp and grits which was amazingly delicious! The meatballs on the risotto were equally as good. For the desserts, I will say I thoroughly enjoyed my mix berries on the butter cake. Really delicious. Service was great. There was a bit of a long gap in between our starters and the entrees but they made it up with their overall friendly service. PSA for those with hearing challenges, the noise level is quite loud in the restaurant. I will say that I'd like to go back and try their other dishes.

The bag had nothing on the outside to determine which order it is. The driver was kind enough to return and swap out the orders even though they have no responsibility to do so. Upon return, the order was missing an item. Total incompetence at this place. The dressing for the Caesar salad was awful. Tasted like it was made with mostly mayonnaise. The ratio of bread crumbs to lettuce was overwhelming. Luckily, those are easy to pick out. The mac&cheese wasn't very cheesy. And the only option is fake noodles. Ridiculous. Terrible texture obviously with fake noodles. I also added roasted cauliflower. The chunks of cauliflower were too big and required the use of a knife to cut into edible portions. Seemed like lazy knife work in the kitchen. The Wagyu burger was pretty good and cooked to the doneness I requested. The jalapeños I added were diced into really small pieces. No pith. Therefore, no spice. And jalapeno with pith fully removed also has almost no flavor. I'm also not a fan of cheddar cheese on a burger but they don't allow for American or Monterrey Jack. The "fire roasetd tomato basil" soup was decent but still problematic. The cheese included is mozzarela. Never I have had a tomato soup that didn't use parmigian. And the mozzarela was a single gooey lump not sliced at advertised. Also, it was supposed to be "fire roasted" tomato soup. This is a lie. There was zero evidence of roasted tomatoes by sight or taste. I also could not detect by sight or flavor any hint of basil.
