My friend and I enjoyed her birthday dinner here last month during Restaurant Week. We had no reservation but were quickly and immediately sat upon arrival at around 5pm on a Thursday evening. Our server was great - knowledgable about the menu and personable. We had a nice meal here and I ended it with delicious coffee. We both ordered from the Restaurant Week 3-Course menu. My friend tried: -Toasted Cauliflower Soup with Pumpkin and Sesame Seeds -Crispy Smoked Quail with Pickled Corn Relish and Mashed Potatoes I tried: -Red Pear and Spinach Salad with Radicchio, Pecans, White Cheddar and Sherry Vinaigrette -Halibut with Green Pepper, White Beans, Castelvetrano Olives and Herbs For dessert: -Caramelized Fig and Ricotta Upside-Down Cake with Pistacio Crumble and Mascarpone We both got the same dessert and it was delicous! My wife and I went to Supper at Hotel Emma for our anniversary, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening. We sat at the kitchen bar, which ended up being one of the highlights of the night. It was so much fun watching the chefs work, and everyone in the kitchen was incredibly friendly, personable, and welcoming. To make the night even more special, they prepared a few dishes specifically for our anniversary. That personal touch meant so much to us and made the entire evening feel truly memorable. The food was excellent, but what really stood out was the experience and the people. Husband declared it "one of the best meals of my life!" After a late evening check in to our hotel room, we were lured to this place by the delicious smokey scent wafting through the lobby. We chose to sit at the kitchen counter, where the chefs were prepping for the change over to the late shift crew. They shared complimentary samples of the beef tips paired with a perfectly juicy tomato. We had a pureed soup (squash maybe?), amazing toasted seeds on top. Setting and atmosphere is good and inspiring. Food was just ok but never let their team pack your food to go. This is not a value add. The server threw away my rib from my pork prime rib. My wife orders the mushroom risotto and it was pack luster with little to no seasoning. I would return for dessert and libations but food wise I will patronize another establishment. read more

After our lunch, she brought out the most delicious lattes that were the perfect finish to our meal. I ordered the wagyu burger and it was incredible, and the brussels sprouts were also so good! The ambiance of the restaurant was great. I love the old school classy. I also loved the complimentary valet. We had a 7pm reservation. We arrived at 650 and we were seated around 710. The restaurant was busy and there was a wedding reception at the back. It took the server 15 mins to address us for a drink and then to take our order We finally received our 6 oysters 45 mins into our visit. The oysters were really tasty It took another 45 mins for our meal to arrive. Our server was very apologetic and kept saying our food was coming out soon which it didn't. She did comp my mum some brut but for me this was just too much. I dont know how much is OK to handle My mums Lamb was delicious and also the side of beets and the fries with bearnaise I ordered the quail. It was a fried chicken style dish in a pot bowl thing. Which was very hard to eat from. You couldn't tell what was what. It was very delicious but soon got sickening from the grease. I have wanted to try Supper for a while and as we needed a location for a breakfast meeting today it was one of the few places open on a Monday so we gave it a go and glad we did ! Great service throughout and it's a beautiful space - also has an outdoor patio overlooking the river which was be lovely on a cooler day. Also loved the fact that it has the lovely signature Hotel Emma scent which smells amazing but subtle enough that it does not overpower a meal! I had their avocado and lox toast - everything here is very well priced and it was really good - needed ( and this is unusual for me to write ) just a touch of salt to add some more flavor but it was very good and very fresh! We had a prie fix menu to order from which consisted of salad, an entree and dessert. I got the wedge salad, NY strip steak and peaches and cream creme brulee. The wedge salad was a little disappointing. It was a bit too salty and just doused in too much blue cheese dressing. The steak was decent but unfortunately, they only cooked it to medium. If you are in the historic Pearl area, you must try this place. It sits right inside Hotel Emma. The old-school decor emits a chill atmosphere. They have an outdoor patio that looks right out onto the San Antonio River Walk. The service is absolutely terrific. Our wonderful waitress, Mercedes, was the absolute best! Her husband also works there. This amazing team takes so much pride in their work. Everything taste fresh. Here is what we loved: Crispy Smoked Quail: Perfectly tender and packed with rich flavor. "Supper" was an impeccable choice for supper while we stayed at Hotel Emma. I made reservations for 8:15 pm on 5.24.2025. While there was an unusually long pause getting to our table, that along with a really loud drunk lady a few tables from us proved to be the only hiccups. What an absolute gem! Went here for brunch this morning with a buddy who eats here every week and it absolutely did not disappoint! Service was great, the old-fashioned vibe was really cool. I was there for brunch this weekend, I was seated promptly at the time of my reservation but noticed that people without a reservation were also getting seated quickly. The restaurant is beautiful and fits well with Hotel Emma's aesthetic. They have a lot of variety on their menu, so there's something for everyone. The cocktails are wonderful, I really enjoyed them. This is one of our favorite places to come and enjoy breakfast. We brought a great niece who is seven years old and she just loved her pancakes. They were light and fluffy so they were perfect. My husband had the steak and eggs and it had a side of chimichurri And he said it was perfect and so delicious that's going to be his go to from now on. I had the French omelette, which was amazing. It had the horse and cheese and it was nice and fluffy and so delicious. We sat outside and it was Beautiful day. They have fans going so even in a hot humid day it felt great. After visiting the Hotel Emma bar, we thought we should try their restaurant, so we had lunch there a couple of months ago. Upon arrival, the valet service provided by Alejandro and Carl was top-notch. Both were friendly and helpful. Once inside the restaurant, the hostess was nice and promptly sat us outside per our request. The waitress stopped by our table shortly after, introduced herself, and asked for our drink order. After she left, we realized it was actually to windy to sit outside, but did not want to leave the table until pur waitress returned. Unfortunately, after waiting for over 10 minutes, we and the table of ladies next to us went in on our own. We ran into our waitress there, so she guided us to a new table. However, we still waited several more minutes for our waters and to place our order. When she took our orders, no rerecommendarions were made, so I asked for suggestions between the club and the burger. She recommended the burger because although rich, it was unique and good, so I ordered the Foiedelaise Burger, and my gf the Short Rib Grilled Cheese, plus a bowl of Corn Chowder. Although there were only 2 other tables beside us, the wait for our soup was very long, only for it to be cold, not even lukewarm. The manager dropped by to ask how everything was so far and after sharing the temp of our soup, he apologized and took it away. Shortly after receiving our replacements, the manager returned to make sure it was to our liking. To be polite and realizing that I did not like the chowder after all, I said yes and thanked him. Our actual meal took a while as well as our drink refills. By the time we received our food, I was a bit agitated but shook it off and did my best to enjoy our pricey meal. The burger was rich, different, and enjoyable, but I have had better for less. The grilled cheese was tasty but too rich to consume at once. The fries were okay. The centerpiece is a beautiful bar complimented with comfortable seating indoors and out that compliment the restored historic building just as the rest of the Hotel Emma. The menu is usually simple and limited with several well made dishes per each meal. My visit today was to celebrate a dear friend's birthday. The server was amazing and the management was well prepared for our party. We ate off of the brunch menu and enjoyed a rose bubbly. It was such a good experience and we did not feel rushed at all. I ordered the parfait with extra fruit and it was comprised of an amazing thick yogurt with a honey that complimented it perfectly. Went to dinner for a friend's birthday on a rainy day that thankfully ended up clearing up on the drive down. The restaurant wasn't very busy but slowly had diners filling the tables as the evening went on. We were a table of 5 and I was the first to arrive. One of her friends had sent a beautiful & elongated flower arrangement which I thought the restaurant had set up. It was placed right on the middle of the table which I thought that was a nice touch for a birthday celebration. After everyone arrived, our waitress took our drink orders. I asked about the Cider and she offered me a taste. It was dry and tart so I opted for the nicely chilled Rosé Prosecco which was served in a wine glass...another nice touch. Next were appetizers to share on the table: Brussels Sprouts which were grilled and had a nice slightly sweet, tangy sauce and the Scallop Au Grautin which had 4 shelled scallops with a really tasty herb sauce, almost pesto-like that was beautifully presented on a bed of rock salt on a plate. I could've lapped up that sauce with some crusty French Bread! That was memorable. For my main entree, I chose the Chicken Ballotine which were really tender discs of chicken pieces on top of a celery root/parsnip puree that tasted like mashed potatoes! I need to find that recipe! Really satisfying and with the light jus made it perfect. I'd say the portions were perfect for myself but for a bigger eater, def get an appetizer like the Brussels Sprouts to fill you up. For dessert, I ended up getting a decaf Cappuccino. I would've liked to have tried the Chocolate Cake with Coffee Ice Cream but the caffeine would've kept me awake all night. It was a generous portion for the cake and in a rectangular slice vs. a triangle which we all expected. I'd try it during lunchtime. It's been a few years since I dined here and the ambiance was still nice with the early evening setting in and all the trees and greenery in the background was really pleasant to see. The menu isn't huge but what they serve is done with detail and refinement. Service was very professional and courteous with the hostess even opening the glass doors as we exited. I never felt rushed and the ambiance was a nice respite with a modern yet nostalgic feel to the restaurant. For our appetizer we had the beef tartare and oysters which I had no idea how good oysters could be until that night. The chef was very interactive and friendly with our orders as well, giving us recommendations as we were enjoying the show. Everything from beginning to finish was fantastic! I was here for dinner for my birthday with a few friends. I was greeted warmly and seated without ado. The interior looked so classy, that the photos don't do justice to it! I personally loved the vibe. We ordered scallops and Brussel sprouts for the table and both of which were delicious. I got an icy blueberry based mocktail which was kinda of sweet for my palette. I ordered quail for main course, this was good but not great. Don't let the name fool you, this place offers more than just supper. When I walked by around breakfast time, I almost kept walking thinking they wouldn't do morning food. I was wrong, and happy to be. It's slightly upscale, attached to the nearby hotel, with a beautiful outdoor patio that overlooks the river walk. You can request a table top device that spins like a helicopter to discourage flies and birds from pestering-I'd recommend doing that.
